I'm eating a fresh croissant with some smoked cheese on it. This with a big mug of tea (which is too hot still to drink).

Most croissants in the US suck.  Have had a few good ones at local patisseries.

^ Sucky ones can be found here also. Too fat and ja, doughy/not nice.. but in a nearby supermarket there's a corner where a regional bakery/patisserie (bit like a chain store thing) sell their bread, pies and what have you. They're great. Their croissants, baguettes, Kaiserbrötchen, bread made of (a %-age of) corn flour with sunflower seeds.. Really nice.

I am kinda lucky folks do appreciate good quality food here and are willing to pay for it.. thus keeping a brilliant butcher, a like wise as brilliant, fishmonger in business and yeah, 't Lekker Plekske', the bakery/patisserie mentioned earlier, also.

Eating a double toffee dessert (mit Sahnekaramell verfeinert/um, it's made in Germany/thus) at the moment. Nice it is.
