Saw a cat with only one eye on the jobsite I was working on today.

Are you sure you weren't looking at the wrong end?
LOL was expecting that one.  It had one good eye and one partially closed with some white thing in it, not sure if it was a pet or feral

Heres one from this past week, cross walks on Nantucket look like this

Most of the roads in town were cobble stone and the sidewalks brick, neither were even close to being level

I once knew a man from Nantucket....

SO, I meant to post in this thread, but I messed up:

On a personal note about things one does not see everyday ...

It is Prom Night.

My daughter is in a dress that makes her look like a Civil War era debutante.  I am beside myself with stress.

PROM NIGHT!!!

FUCK!!

Update:

She called a bit ago and they are going to a late showing of the  "Endgame"  movie set up locally as a safe place for young teems to go after prom.

Says she will be home around two thirty AM.

The most surprising thing about tonight was, after all the plans changing, failing tailor not having her dress ready (Mom stepped up), "friends" ducking out at the last few days, date canceling on her this week, various other stresses  ...  was that she actually went through with this night. She went to her senior prom!

We have many sidewalks and several old streets here in town that are made of "ancient" brickwork. On one main-ish  street they actually dug up the bricks, leveled and re-set the entire things foundation and it is very smooth using one hundred eighty year old bricks. Others need the same treatment. Many of the sidewalks have been re-set as well and brought up to wheel chair standards, FFS.
Many of the old bricks have the brick makers marks molded into the surface, something like, "Harold and Son's '05-37." Interestingly all the manufacturers had their own standards as to how big to make a brick. Within one brand, they are quite uniform, but it is difficult to mix brands of brick when doing anything with way old bricks.

In England there used to be an issue sometimes with cobblestone streets.

People would literally steal the street in the middle of the night. People would wake up in the morning and the cobblestones on the streets outside their houses were gone. Quite a feat to get away with that unnoticed. I recall it being in the media a few times when I lived there in the late 90s.

Apparently "genuine" antique cobblestones were very much in demand by wealthy bankers and fund managers and stockbrokers and the like for the driveways on their country estates outside London. And were worth a small fortune, and often purchased with no questions asked.

Saw a black bear that got hit by a car on the parkway,  first time I have ever seen one outside of a zoo

Lamborghini SUV.

Spotted it far away and noticed it looked "different" from all the other of these types of vehicles I have seen. I did not know what it was yet, but I saw from a distance that this was a beauty and a remarkable show of super quality. Details, fit and finish, COLOR and just everything about it was just awesome.
Then I approached close enough to see the logo on the hood.

DAMN! I did not even know that those guys made something like that.

A pic, same color I saw.

Saw a Porsche SUV in traffic not long ago and was thinking, the SUV part seems to defeat the purpose of owning a luxury sport car because the body shape makes them look ordinary.
