How do you feel about the issue of identity politics? Do you feel that the principles of identity politics will help or hinder the autism rights movement? Does the dichotomy inherent in identity politics ultimately hinder the advancement of a peaceful, cooperative society? If it does, is it ultimately worth it to use identity politics to advance the autism rights movement at the expense of societal unity?

Here is the Wikipedia article on identity politics. It provides a brief overview of the subject. Basically, identity politics is classifying people into the categories of "Us vs. Them" and voting to empower "Us", sometimes at the expense of "Them".

Oh. Well I don't think this type of politics works well for autism rights because "we" would just be doing the same to "them" as "they" were doing to "us". It would end up being NTs vs. autistics and I have already seen that that doesn't work.
