Do you believe people on the autistic spectrum are more likely to be politically progressive than the population as a whole. From personal experience I would say yes, a lot of Australians on the autistic spectrum are either left wing Labor party or Green Party supporters.

Not sure. To me, it seems more likely to
be radical. Though, here, the tendency
for atheism to be seen as radical pushes many
into a more liberal stance.

disagreeing views.

If that were true, republicans in the U.S. might start being way more OK with abortions.  It would be a way to prescreen out the competition.   

Seriously, I can see how it would be possible, but not necessarily because of "heightened rationality."  It could also have something to do with need, and what party would be most likely to fill the needs that one has, or the needs that one has been made aware of in one's own life or in the lives of others.  (Example:  I prohbably wouldn't care much about health care if I'd been perfectly healthy my whole life/I hadn't seen others need it.)  It could also have something to do with the demographics/personality variables involved in using the internet, in admitting that one is on the autistic spectrum, etc. etc.  But I have no idea.

in urban areas? What is the political persuasion of
their parents? Mine were fairly liberal, for their time.

Indeed, my mother was shocked, when my father
voted for Reagan.

Politics are great for getting people killed and making money off of corruption. 

We do need more people to die though.   Thomas Malthus was right, but not in regards to food consumption, more like energy/fuel consumption.

only insomuch as critical thinking is generally associated with being progressive, and tends to be something a lot of autistics do naturally. however as individuals we seem to be just as prone to doggedly held irrational beliefs and prejudices as other folk.
