I executed a coup while admin for a day. I replaced McJ with myself and eamonn with pyraxis. Omega_Female attempted a counter coup which was undermined.
However, given the nature of intensity? I doubt my rule will be permanent. Maybe we need to start talking about term limits? At least I will leave a games forum as my legacy.

How did you first find out about AS?
How old were you at the time?

I first discovered AS when my son was 3 (I was 25) and someone (a non-professional) told me my son had it and that I needed to get him services. I asked to see the description of the disorder and upon reading it I told this person that if my son had AS then I did too, as it described me to a T.
I did have my son evaluated and was told he was autistic & in dire need of services (I never got him any, as they wanted to medicate him at age 3).
Then later at a depersonalization disorder support board the topic (of AS) was brought up and I began to put all the pieces together, and later I learned that feelings of dissociation are common among people with AS.
I had diagnosed myself with Depersonalization Disorder before discovering AS as this is one of my strongest "symptoms" since the age of 12 or so. Now I believe it is a byproduct of AS (for me, at any rate).

It makes me feel stoned 24/7 :-\. Or slightly drunk. Or like I'm trapped in a dream. Which for short periods of time might be enjoyable but this is a very black and scary feeling.
I "feel like a robot" and like I'm not attached to my body... also visually I perceive things as wavy and lucid, like a Van Gogh painting. Sometimes people will look like mannequins or holograms... it feels like nothing is real sometimes.
I don't know what makes me special. Maybe it is AS as everyone I see on the AS boards seems very very very special in their own right. ;D Even, or especially, the evil ones.

yeah I was wondering the same thing... we aren't the only ones, Bill Maher often jokes that believers might be suffering from a mass neurological disorder

There was never a kiss goodnight, never a hug and an "I love you." But there were shadows in the night and visitors. And then I would have visions too. I was given a mission and I told my parents (who by this time were religious fanatics having followed me into Christianity) that God had sent an angel to me to tell them to sell all they had and travel in a motorhome ministering around the country. Good plan. I thought it was real. It sure seemed real. And that's exactly what they did. Why they didn't have brains to reason by this time that I was mentally ill, is beyond me. But only six weeks into the journey it was obvious that it was all a big mistake. But bipolars often blame their irrational behavior on God and then also say that God is using these tests to do something entirely different than what they were saying God wanted in the first place!
I am a Christian. But in my mania I suffer with religious mania. As a result I have converted away from Christianity several times. Once in 1993 I converted to Satanism and witchcraft. Oh that was an adventure. But it definitely appealed to my religious mania. I was obsessed with spells and rituals and hearing voices. I would lock myself in the closet and rock and chant and cut myself. All classic bipolar manic signs.

Probably rather more extreme that what you experience, Shima, but when people tell me that they hear, see or feel God, my first suspicion is that something's gone a bit wonky in their head. I had a long discussion with a friend a while ago, where we were comparing our perceptions of things. She saw beauty in everything, felt really awed by sunsets and the way leaves would sway on a tree, felt that everything was part of some divine essence and so on, and to me it sounded very much like how I've felt when I've taken ecstacy, except she had it constantly. (When I've taken ecstacy though, I've been fully aware of the chemical reasons for why I felt the things I did, and didn't ascribe any religious significance to it).
Normally, I don't feel anything like that. Sure, something might be pretty, but it doesn't give me an emotional surge to see a sunset or whatever, and I never have the slightest sensation of there being a supernatural side to reality. I don't percieve things as being connected in any spiritual way, I don't see purpose in coincidences, and God, gods, magic, astrology, fairies and so on are completely absent from my experience of reality, though I understand, to my satisfaction, why many people believe in such things.
The friend, on the other hand, was into all sorts; believed in fairies, thought she could so magic (but said it would be disrespectful to test it under controlled conditions, along with a whole bunch of other excuses for why I'd just have to take her word for it), believed that everything was part of a divine essence, that everything happened for a reason and so on. She found it quite disturbing that I didn't feel the stuff she felt; that life for me was pretty cold and meaningless compared to her perception of it, ruled by happenstance rather than divine purpose.
So, I attribute a lot of religious feeling to brain chemistry and neurology. Some people just seem wired for religion.

So it has came down to this, I post an email, she post one, eventually, all 400 will be posted and the forum will have made there decision whether there is a point to any of this she said he said bullshit. As per McJ, the guy has a very creative heart, excellent communication skills and a passionate social ambition. I tend to have a creative mind, terrible communication, and I am passionate about principles, not people. Other than that, the poor guy is just like me..nuf said. As per the recent events, simply put we have come to an agreement to disagree with an agreement that we agree to disagree with a disagreement. With this basic understanding, a meaningful and enlightening relationship based upon a foundation of creative spirit that is formed when a strong meets a strong heart. I hope that we will be able to subdue the weak mind and weak heart thru a common understanding that the two can never accomplish what their counterparts are capable of. There has been excessive recent evidence of this. I am willing to concede to a draw, with the agreement, that there has been enough said. The threatening of women or men is not something I take part in unless provoked into a corner with the intimidation that we have seen recently. The only victims that remain are the ones who have been unaware of all the above aforementioned details. If all goes well, we’ll be well. If all is hell, oh well.

I maybe be able to get someone to loan me $20 for an new d drive. That would allow me to use my webcam. My mom and boyfriend offered me to let me borrow $60, and maybe that offer is still valid. That thought occured today, so that means I should not be embarrassed. If I was embarassed and looked ugly, I would have a not be thinking of such things. It we be almost like a "selective memory".
