Okay, what the fuck is with this stupid American bullshit? Is it some yank inside joke or do I just have the wrong sense of humour?

It is the type of joke that annoys the fuck out of me nowadays. Basically the joke goes with almost anything negative. Lets say someone stubs their toe and says "Fuck that hurts!"or they see a large insect "Holy shit, that is huge!". You would say "Thats what your mom said last night!". Basically it is saying you fucked their mother. My friend Tom is an endless supply of your mother jokes still to this day. He is even bad enough to do it like this: Me "Damn that is fucking lame" Him: "Your mom is fucking lame". It gets old after a while.

good grief. that saying was in vogue when i was teaching the real headbangers, so that must've been 12-13 years ago. and that was the kids doing it.
myself and another teacher decided to take it to silly extremes, so we ended up with "your second cousin, thrice removed". how we laughed.

these kids weren't autistic. they were mainly on the end of appalling abuse (of various kinds), and so had psychotherapeutic issues, rather than psychoneurological.
having said which, in my class, i had one diagnosed with ADHD, and one who definitely had antisocial personality disorder, or whatever a psychopath is called this week.
