Title: guess the recruitment drive worked..
Post by: In The spaGhetto on April 14, 2007, 01:53:44 PM
Hello. I came over from AV after all the controversy the other week. I do like that site  and there are some great people on there,  but as has been discussed, it can be a bit restrictive and i fancied something else.
Thing is it has a different aim to this site so things are done differently and if anyone doesn't always enjoy that style, thanks to places like this, there are other places to go.

this seems like an entertaining place so thought i'd wander over, so here i am.

Hey.  We're really not as nasty as Robert, Ascan and Omega would have you believe, but if you throw shit around, nobody will step in to prevent the rest of us from throwing shit back at you.  I hope you enjoy your new freedom of expression and all the responsibilities and hazards that go along with it.

I'll try to take on that great responsibility.

I'm glad to see you here, Spaghetto.  Did you see our new, improved front page (http://www.intensitysquared.com/index.html)?  Our Recruitment Chairman suggested a line, which we of course adopted:

'... a barely-legal, completely unethical, den of iniquity that exists mainly for the amusement of a socially-able aspergic elite' - Intensity² Recruitment Chairman

"guess the recruitment drive worked.."

Welcome to the Den of Iniquity.

Cos he's a wanker.  >:D

Heh, that was his contribution on WP to a thread invoked by Ascan, RobertN and Omega slagging Intensity off.

I spend a lot of time doing peterstuff.

The history is that Robert is and was besotted with Omega, but she was shagging Ascan and keeping it a secret from Robert, so he kept following her around the board like a horny puppy.  The rest of us thought this was rather unethical of her, since it would be better for Robert to be told the truth and get on with his life, rather than to be constantly obsessing on someone he was never going to get anywhere with, but she kept avoiding the issue, and manipulated him into thinking that we were spreading malicious rumours and that there wasn't anything between her and Ascan.

Also, Robert was generally a sickeningly horny, pathetic sap around the females on the board, and when Purposeful Insanity, Dunc's wife, suggested to Robert that his behaviour was putting people off, he got very upset and viciously attacked her over it, then Dunc called him out about it, and ever since he's referred to Dunc as Duncshit.

There was an incident too where Laz told Omega that me and HG (an ex-member here) had been making fun of a pic of hers.  There was some truth to it (she really does look like a man), but also a lot of distortion, and outright lying by Laz, since he had his own agenda.  Through that incident, it emerged that Omega was quite manipulative, and she left the board soon afterwards, taking Robert with her.  Dunc would be able to tell you more about Omega.

I don't know Ascan's story, except that he's a paranoid jerk who seems to have always had a thing against us.

I've had the "puppy" obsessive thing once with someone (IRL) and it got quite hard to deal with. Grown out of it hopefully now though

wasn't really asking for the history though, and i don't really want to get into it or start taking sides. *shrugs*

Then don't. Nobody's forcing you to do that. Intensity's not about making fun of them, in spite of what some of them will have you believe.

Welcome, btw.

I had someone obsessed with me once, but not in a cute puppy sort of way.  It really was frightening and difficult to deal with.

I don't think anyone is asking you to take sides, but there is often more than one side of a story.  Hearing another side of a story does not force you to take sides.

I don't think it's a gospel fact; it's simply my opinion.  It's also my opinion that I look masculine, and I know from experience that many people have been attracted to me for my masculine appearance and manner.  You're free to have your own opinions.

Masculine or not, its fair to say Peter's prettier than Omega...

I don't get it.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is it not?

If Peter thinks Omega looks masculine but you and I don't, then it is just our subjective opinions.  Everyone is entitled to have a different opinion.

Fair enough, so add 'in my opinon' to the end of your judgement of her then,
don't act like you're the arbitor of opinion on this board!

You might have a fair collection of people who want to lick your arse but I'm not one of them

She has heavy bone structure, chunky features and quite a square brow which make her look masculine to me.

When talking about something subjective like appearance, 'in my opinion' is implied, and it's redundant to explicitly state it.

You might be attractive but your evident arrogant, nasty streak makes you unpleasant with it

Give me an average-looking, pleasant person anyday over a nasty looker!

(and that was no reference to Omega btw - this is getting very fraught with potential to unintentionally offend!)

Well, since all matters of aesthetics are a matter of taste, it depends. For me, I find it
very much so - especially the narcissistic vanity which needs reassurance. I love to look
at myself and see what a vain thing that I am.

I often do add "in my opinion" to my opinion about such things, but adding "in my opinion" is really redundant because things like beauty are subjective by definition.

I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that I'm acting like I think I'm an arbiter of opinion here or that some people want to lick my ass, but I don't think that is even true and I am actually quite glad you don't want to.

People here have their own opinions about many different things and that is one of the things I love about Intensity.  I agree with some opinions and disagree with others, but I like and respect almost everyone here whether or not I share their opinions on some issues.

In my opinion, Peter is good-looking and also good-hearted and kind.  He is also bluntly honest with his opinions.

You lack bite in your arguments.  It's unfortunate that you get negative comments about your appearance, but I never targeted Omega over her looks; I just expressed my opinion on her looks, in the context of explaining a past incident in which her looks played a major role.  I'm not in the habit of putting people down, even when they deserve it, so your 'avenging anger' is misplaced.

i don't really think that people are as swayed by looks as they are about a strong h, honest opinion and a great mind.  peter has both.

being kind-hearted and being brutally blunt

i am not sure what to make of this statement.  except for the fact that i think i would loathe kind hearted people in your definition.  i prefer honesty.  i prefer to know where i stand.

FWIW- peter never bluntly told Omega Female that she was ugly looking.  LAZ, was involved in a conversation that was taking place on MSN.  then he used the conversation to suit some end, and told Omega about it.
she called him out and peter never lied about what he said, he admitted it.
it wasn't as if she posted a picture here and peter responded publicly that he thought she had manly features....that would be cruel and unwarranted.

people talk about other people when they aren't present all the time.  i will guarantee that you do this also.  the thing that i respect peter for is that when confronted about it he didn't try to sidestep what he previously said.  he was honest about it.

Your comments only go to show your prejudice.  Nobody is sucking up to me; the comments you dismiss as 'sucking up' are the honest opinions of people who know me far better than you do, and to question those opinions is to question the impartiality of those who give them.  Callaway is a good and honest person, who'd never suck up to anyone, and you insult her by suggesting that that's what she's doing here.  If you took the time to get to know me, rather than constantly attacking me for being attractive, you might come to realise that I'm a nice person, but you'll never reach that realisation while you're on a mission to crucify me to satisfy your own anger and insecurities about things which have nothing to do with me.

Horiffically so

I think you'd probably kill yourself if you knew how little difference there actually was between you and the next
arrogant twat who ahd people fawning all over them!

You cant develop a very deep personality if you don't have a degree of suffering in life and from where
I'm looking your life has been one fucking picnic!

You'll only ever skim the surface of life so I pity you really

You have the typical bland, unformed nature of an overly attractive person

No, it's cyclical injustice, like kids who're beaten by their parents and then grow up to beat their own kids.  This is no justification for attacking someone; it just shows your own weak and damaged psyche.

Your prejudice is really quite blatant.  Are you aware of that?  You know nothing of my life experiences, and I have no inclination to explain them to you, yet with no evidence, you've decided that I've had a fun, happy life.  Do you realise the problem with this position?

Freedom of Expression and all that tho Peter..... ;)

Yes, you're free to express yourself however you wish, and I'm expressing myself as I wish by pointing out your self-righteous bullshit for what it is.  Nobody will think you're clever or that you're dealing me crushing blows; they'll see you for the sad, bitter and weak individual that you are.  If you gain some sense of satisfaction from hating me, feel free to do so and I wish you the best with it, but don't expect anyone else to join in.

Hence the shared vaccuous obsession with looks

If Laz has lost her as a friend that's a f-ing bonus!

You are both like black holes, sucking the life force out of people

I don't see why you think that attractive people don't suffer. Or, how you can possibly judge the
depth of suffering that someone feels. It has little or nothing to do with external events. I KNOW
that I'd suffer less in a prison-like environment (well - more anally, but that's a different matter), then
in this relatively comfortable life that I have now.

Many people regard me as a valued friend, and I provide support to my friends when they need it.  I don't suck the life force out of anyone.  Also, do you even know anything about HG?  What information do you have with which to judge her?

I read some of her posts last time I was here

I made the following observations:-

She was regularly changing her photo

She was going on about being really skinny and not liking it as some kind of lame attempt at
fishing for compliments, while managing to also include bitchy comments about larger women LOL

Thus I deduced:-

Shallow, vain, boring and nasty

An ideal companion for Peter in other words

And whaddaya know?

They are good friends!

They spend time ripping others apart based on how they look

Both putting their 'great minds' to excellent, highly constructive use

Don't make it SO Fucking easy for me!

Well you've had it, and you've quite thoroughly discredited yourself in the process.  You've shown yourself to be bitter and prejudiced, and to be incompetent in a discussion, while failing to do the slightest bit of damage to me.

it occured to me that she keeps accusing people of being drawn to peters looks.  and not judging him as a person harshly enough because of them.

but, if i remember correctly, wasn't she all flirty with you last time she graced us with her presence, fawning over you and saying that you were pretty.

You obviously weren't very thorough in your research, or you'd have read her efforts to help people here, and seen her very long and involved posts on many topics.  Neither of us rip people apart based on their looks, but we're both honest and up-front about our opinions when our opinions are solicited.  You seem to feel threatened by honesty.

Esme, you are making assumptions about Peter based solely on his appearance, which is ironic because that is what some cruel people did to you and you hated it.  I know I hated people assuming that I did not have a brain in my head because of the way I looked or the assumptions they made about my mother because she was overweight.

You are mistaken if you think Peter's life has been a picnic.  How can any of us have such an easy life dealing with being so different from the people around us?

I don't like Peter because of the way he looks.  I like him because of his honesty, kindness and intelligence.

I like you for your spirited defense of a friend who you believe was wronged, even if I see it as an unfortunate situation caused by some people expressing opinions that they thought were private, then someone who for his own reasons which I can't figure out ran to Omega telling tales.  At the time, Hypnotica thought her friend was dating Omega and it was in that context she showed him the picture and expressed her opinions.  It turned out that her friend was dating a different woman with the same first name, but the damage was already done, unfortunately.

This combination has me convinced. If this is anything like it looks like (whether this is a lie or not), you are a terribly bitter person. You should switch from taking it out on others, and move towards a healthier view and seek to bring down the whole of reality. Don't waste your passion on mere mortals.

As to any thought of 'sucking up' to Peter: I can't see how it applies to me. He's pretty, no doubt. Not my taste, but whatever. But if anything, I tend to be harsher to those that I find attractive (in any way) than to those that I don't; no logic here, just one of my defenses against that which may harm me.

And yes, I do like to be complimented on my looks.  I also like to be complimented on my intelligence, wit, talents, kindness and any other good qualities.

Well, that's very modest.

You're right in much of what you say Peter

I hate myself sometimes, not even  because of what people might think of how I look
so much as not beign able to live up to the stupid standards I demand of myself and others

Im trying to be better than other people a lot of the time to try and make myself feel better
then I just get fed up of even trying as it's too hard and want to just be nasty cos of other peopels' nastiness
and cos others seem much better at being consistently nice

Everything's too hard to sustain for any length of time

Im always aiming for the moral high ground and then getting incensed when other people are continually trying to knock me off it

I wasn't drunk or depressed yeterday but had eaten wheat and a lot of sugar - evidently a very bad combination for me!

I have recently started a new relationship and feel a lot of pressure to make it work and it's driving me funny!

Like all the effort of maintaining a good act makes me want to be nasty underneath

I admire your consistency Peter and not dropping to my level
