I have a head cold, so instead of going to my grandmother's house and enduring awkwardness for an hour or two before going home again and feeling like I have a "day off," I'm skipping to the good part of the day right off the bat.  Except with a runny nose and sore throat.

It would have been better for me to go see her, and I'm past being anxious about going for such trips to see her (they're just kind of shitty and to be gotten over with), but I'll probably actually enjoy today more home sick than I would have going to visit her.

Yay for convenient illness! And Happy Thanksgiving.

Kayleigh actually said she would like Thanksgiving to happen here in Australia. I was surprised to hear this when she can't stand the fact that Halloween gets more and more hyped up every year here.

I would like it too, it looks and sounds like a friendly get togethers with people you like (or is it for family?) to eat good food and generally give thanks for what you have.

Have I got it right?

Yes, that's correct.
