The other people that do not mind the arguments here are the people who log onto I2 each day with its mission statement on tge firat page specifically stating that this place is for freedom of expression and has one rule to bacj yourself and to leave if you do not have the bottle for it.

The only people that would sign on to that are people that do not mind arguments OR actively seek out arguments.

Having an argument is a little like having sex. You have to have two willing participants...if one views it as:

A: a non-productive waste of their time
or...
B: not something they "want" to do

...you will end up wacking off in the corner...regardless of what you "think" should happen.

Personally, I hold different standards here than I do for local IRL laws.

Though I'll still do my damnedest to rip the shit out of anyone that goes after people I care about.

A place can provide an environment that encourages debating without every member necessaily wanting
to take advantage of it.  I take advantage of the smilies and the permission to use foul language, myself.  :orly:

I usually stay out of arguments because I lack the smarts to argue my side.

CBC-TEhe freedom of recourse to profanity means most when not 'given' but  taken.  As with personal freedom/liberty its not something true to its nature if it is handed, however compliantly by another (in the sense that in being given or upheld in any way but to take the position of 'this is how things are going to work round here and better not drop a turd on my doorstep that is too big for you to swallow'. Otherwise, its just a mealy-mouthed way of insinuating 'we say you may, by our good graces and sufferance, remain unmolested at this particular time, because you aren't doing and/or saying anything we do not consider acceptable; but we can take back our 'gift' of 'freedom' and round you all up into concentration camps if we ever decide you must not be free'

Real freedom cannot be given by another party. Assisting in wresting it from those who seek to deny it of course is perfectly viable; but if a thing may be given then it can also be taken, and hence granted freedom, is false freedom.

And Ren...damn hun! why think that of yourself? you are not in any measure somebody that deserves the label 'dumb'

Actually for what its worth; I reckon you are a smart 'lil cookie.

(and with that purr-some autie death stare too:) lovely) You are my kinda spazz Ren:autism:

I am speculating that this is why the people who say I2 is dying only seem to post when there is some drama. It was not me inviting drama, it was me speculating a reason and answering your question.
