Tasmanian Devils are cool. But you wouldn't want to pat them. Why?

"Any research or read on animals with a powerful bite force is incomplete without the mention of the devil who roams in the woods of Tasmania - the Tasmanian Devil. This small, stout, strong carnivore marsupial is capable of chomping down its prey with a bite force quotient (BFQ) of 181.

The bite force of all the animals mentioned above were calculated in PSI. PSI denotes a pressure that results when an area of 1 square inch is subjected to a pressure of 1 pound force. Bite force quotient, however, is derived by dividing the bite force of the animal by its body mass. Through a series of tests and studies, scientists have concluded that the Tasmanian Devil is the mammal with the strongest bite force quotient on earth. In layman language, the creature generates the highest bite force for its size - it weighs no more than 26 lbs.

Speaking of pythons and snakes, I'm not sure if this story is true or not but it is terrifying. A friend of a friend of a friend of my mother's bought a pet python (not the same kind seen in the pictures as I think that's illegal but a python nonetheless) but would sometimes wake up to see the python staring at her. Curious to see what this was about she took the python to the vet and told him what the problem was. The vet told her to get rid of the python, stating that the python  was "measuring her up" so it could eat her.

Just get a dog next time. :aff:

Spiders.  :zombiefuck:

Don't like spiders.

The snakes would be cool to watch, the Tasmanian Devil is neat, I even like the ugly bird that kicks.

Spiders...hell no.

If I see a spider in my room I can't sleep soundly until I kill it...Then again that might be a mistake:

Eastern Grey Kangaroos are getting more aggressive where I live as well. Since housing development has been expanding further into their habitat they're venturing more and more into the suburbs, munching on people's lawns and shit. You can't go for a walk through the scrubby/leafy parklands here anymore, seriously. Every so often I take a detour to go kangaroo scouting and I always spot at least one huge male/buck grazing on the side of the road. In a neighbourhood street!! Sometimes they stand up really tall and size up my car as I drive past lol.

Some of those creatures are awesome!

But do i want to go there and get up close to them? Nope, not going there, not even if Sigourney Weaver goes first .   I'd feel as if somebody had shrunk me down to microbe size, then swept  me out into the back garden .   Never mind if they also shrunk a whole library of books , my PC,  and everything.    What use  those things if there's no safe place to sit and get absorbed in them?
How the heck do you Aussies cope?

Are those the big ones that can disembowel a person with a single blow??

Western Reds are a lot bigger than Eastern Greys. Both could disembowel you I reckon.

Yup, They are powerful. My cousins hand reared one. Its mother was road kill. It was cute when it was a joey. I have no idea what happened when it was older. I am hoping it became a shitload of mince, steaks and stew.

On food shopping day, Kayleigh will sometimes buy a kangaroo steak. She eats it, I don't like it at all. Tastes too strong for me.

Definitely better in a stew than as steaks

What do they taste like?

Very gamey. Same way that rabbit stew tastes okay but as a roast or steak would not be nice at all
