Title: Ask Jesse about rocks, and stuff
Post by: Parts on September 22, 2013, 08:17:33 PM
If you have an ask away it's buried beyond page 6 so here's a new one :green:

Not rocks this time but baseball cards,  while at my father's I found mine from the late 70s  when I get them back to my house I will do some research but I always like asking people who about the subject first.  Any desirable ones or groups from that era you can think of off the top of your head?

Please call me Jesse,  :)

You want to get the 1975 topps George Brett rookie card. I don't agree with it being at # 5 on this list but overall its a good list

So. Do you have any meteorites, or fragments of them?

Why do you prefer Jesse now?

I do. I have a 286 gram Canyon Diablo meteorite, (that would be the crater in Arizona otherwise known as barringer crater)
Its a Nickel Iron. It is one of my favorite pieces, and I hope to leave it to someone I care about someday.

I can't tell you how cool it is to own something from outer space.  :2thumbsup:

Well, I have always felt like a Jesse my entire life really. no other reasons specifically and in the wake of becoming a new person I would like to leave the old one behind. My family is taking it rather well, I haven't told my Father yet but he will find out soon enough

Thank you. I have been thinking about how once I move I might want to get into the treasure hunting business
I'm going to have my father buy me a metal detector (don't worry. he will make me pay for it later) I'll give him a treasure I find or something for it.  ;)

because really I do want to work again. And, I cant work your traditional 9-5.

That's the spirit, dude. Don't let the "progressives" convince you that you're useless, or that you're owed a living or something. They're full of shit and they know it. You're not useless.

Oh I never thought I was owed a living. just sometimes people need welfare, that I do understand.
I try to leave politics out of my life, it is fun to watch these bitches on TV though

You do agree that some expect to make welfare a career, though.

I suppose there are some who cheat the system. but I don't let it bother me, because why? I have enough problems already and the way other people choose to live really is none of my business

Well once you really start putting into the system maybe it'll start to get on your nerves. :orly:

Well I have put into the system before. I still didn't care, I might have bitched about Social Security in some way shape or form but I don't believe I ever bitched about someone else being on Welfare. See, the thing is. any form of slavery to me is not cool, people browbeating others online because they aren't like them is a form of slavery. I think the world should go on as it should, it is perfect this way in the sense that things unfold as they may for better or worse.

These politicians who berate people on foodstamps, GA, or any other type of help are nothing but assholes with nothing better to do. Look at what these fuckers care about in congress right now, defunding (more like grandstanding) obamacare. they know this doesn't have a chance in hell in passing the senate let alone getting the presidents signature. so why go through all this trouble? well I believe it is nothing more than another form of slavery they want to enforce. the conservative way or the highway
These conservative bastards really piss me off and I do have some conservative ideas, don't get them wrong. they want this to be the united states of jesus Christ! and, all the while practickley ignoring everything the man said. I mean  :yarly:

I say you let people turn out how they may. for better or worse, this is true freedom. not some Ideological bullshit little boys club telling you foodstamps are bullshit for you and your family while they eat well every night.

The amount of money lost by benefit fraud is miniscule compared to tax avoidance etc.

The right wing press and conservative politicians make out it's much worse than it is

Of course there will always be some people who are happy to live like that. Most aren't. And the ones that ARE probably have problems of some sort anyway.

Bullshit. People aren't that selfish. I "put into the system" now and I am 100% supportive of the welfare state.

It isn't. I think though that Adam has not had the experience, as I have, of working in a job where you get exposed to people who live their lives on handouts. Some are victims of circumstance but many are just utter wastes of space.

Why did you choose your new name Richard? It has a nice ring to it and its original  meaning is "God's gift."

There are a lot of people like that. that's true. I dunno about "people who live their lives on handouts" but my job definitely gives me experience of people who do live on benefits. our constituency is one of the biggest and poorest in the country. after immigration, problems with benefits is probably one of the most common type of cases we deal with

I see. Its the same over here then. I mean sometimes I envision things not being too far off from everyone just wearing diapers and playing all day.

Well, I have always felt like a Jesse. and, passing my one year anniversary I thought a new start was most appropriate
I'm going to call my father now and tell him when I shall be arriving and also of my new name. and thanks I like the name aswell

Hello Hyke. thanks for thinking about me!

Well, I try to pop in from time to time but I'm trying to live life a little bit now- Lots of things going on. Safe sex, Walking alot, Tons of coffee drinking, Listening to music, Sleeping, saving money.

I dont really like my living situation now but its only temporary. After I have enough money saved I'll try out for some reasonable places to live and get my life going hopefully.

Hope eveyone's doing ok, and in good health.  :)

Given that reasoning I will try to remember to refer to you as Jesse, don't take offense if I call you Richard out of habit though. Will you repost that rock pic here?

So hopefully I can get them up soon

Thanks El-Pres and Hyke, & everyone else.

A little bit of a rant here: I'm living with my mentally Ill father and I think I'm going to leave at the end of this month.
Simply because, I can't live with a mentally ill person. Its way to hard, Everything and I do mean everything! gets misconstrued

My father is full of so much crap his eyes are brown. and I mean yeah,
You know one thing that I have learned this far and probably already knew but YOU are the only one who has your back.
Not your family, friends, Imaginary friends. just you

I wont have enough money but the gamble I risk staying here is even me despising the situation more. I really don't like living in agony and thats all it is here. So, I mean yeah.

 >:D

And Duck most Jewelers are like Dentists. most Gemdealers are salesmen, so Your best bet would probably be I really dont know.
Good luck however, what do you wanna make?

Don't you buy gems on eBay?

Why yes I occasionally do. and I didnt really even consider Ebay as an answer, because well I thought everybody went there.

I like Sky Island Gems. http://stores.ebay.com/Sky-Island-Gems-and-Minerals?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 (http://stores.ebay.com/Sky-Island-Gems-and-Minerals?_trksid=p2047675.l2563)

But there are plenty of fire agate that looks pretty good for very reasonable prices. for instance

http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-11ct-ESTATE-ARIZONA-FIRE-AGATE-CABOCHON-SPECIAL-/360782602681?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item540051a1b9 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-11ct-ESTATE-ARIZONA-FIRE-AGATE-CABOCHON-SPECIAL-/360782602681?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item540051a1b9)

I dont really buy colored gems but in the past I always go with my gut. If the gem looks right, has good color no chips scratches, etc.
and the price is right I buy

Usually, however On Ebay anyways I always check out the sellers feedback. that gives you a pretty good idea if what they are selling is crap or not

I am pretty good at picking sellers by sifting through feedback. I learned the hard way. Even positive feedback will have negative comments. I just was hoping to find more without doing the work cuz im lazy :P.

A necklace with blak pearls, silver beads I plan to make myself with 1mm diamonds and a handmade silver clasp shaped like a flower also with diamonds. tiny 1mm and 2mm diamonds. I was going to make this for my Korean grandmother before she died. Never got the chance. I regret letting my depression stifle me.
