I almost laughed my head off.  I had tons of them since we always went barefoot in the summer and lived in the yard.

(Moms were brave then. "Well, if you get kidnapped, just phone and we'll come get you.  If you fall out of the tree just crawl in the house and I'll put a bandage on your broken leg.  What's a little tetanus?)

I think the last one I had was in the early 1960's.

I'm not a doctor, but I think its best to get the flap off of it, put some antibiotic on there, put a bandaid on it for a couple of days. After that it should be starting to scab. Take off the bandaid and let the air get to it.

Don't pick at it.

Drain it with a pin or the blood will harden in there (probably too late now)...and get on with life.

Used to get them all the time working on cars, always fucking up my hands somehow.

I haven't done anything with it. So what does that mean? Will it still go away eventually?

Do you think Roman soldiers asked themselves "Will this blood blister go away?" :arrr:

No, it will not go away. You will still be seeing it when you are 80 years old. In fact, it will even grow.  :green:

Have had those. Did you snap your hand in an aggressive mailbox?
IQ is right, you can drain it, if you did not do that, it will form a scab under your skin, and it will fall off, eventually. On the bright side, the piece of skin over the scab will prevent picking at it just a bit.
Even if you have one under your nail, you can drain it. Takes a bit of guts to drill a tiny hole through the nail, but, can be done, and is a relief in the end.

Perhaps the blood will eventually be resorbed.  I would like to hear an update!   :nerd!:

The Romans massacred the Druids!  Druid blood will rise again to avenge the dead!   :arrr: :arrr: :arrr:

I once got a splinter in the side of my knee.  It was too far in to be removed.  :'(

A month or so later, a blister formed in about the same spot.  I broke the blister,
and my splinter floated out!   :arrr:

In all seriousness, if the skin wasn't broken then there's no need to do anything.

But really, there's no harm in giving yourself something to chew on, unless you're HIV+ or an organ recipient or something.

Yeah, then he would have to say..

"I previously had a blood blister which didn't make it to the computer for this post since whatever strange instinct that exists in humans caused me to bite it seconds after I realized what it was."

My burn scar on my left arm is a pain in the ass!  It got poked by the latch bolt on the back door at work,
and a blood blister in the scarred area (one that I thought had been resorbed) started bleeding like a bastard!
That area of skin forms blood blisters pretty easily.  If I ever again burn myself against the inside of the oven,
I will treat it promptly with ice.  The time I saved by not doing so, was not worth the hassles!  :tantrum:

I've got a remnant of a blister on my thumb. Don't know if I want it to go away. Previous times it healed completely I had a new one on the same spot within days.  :asthing:

It's from a leg trainer at sports. On the bright side, according to the instructor I'm the only one capable of freeing myself from the apparatus after the exercise.
He was impressed!   :hyke:

I had a solar keratosis on my hand frozen by the doctor about two months ago. And what an ugly blister I had. Covered it up with a band-aid until the blister disappeared. Now there's just a flat pink spot gradually fading.
