Title: disclaimer
Post by: McGiver on April 02, 2006, 01:29:33 AM
We are a site for adults, 18 years or older.

if you offend easily, chances are we aren't for you.  We allow freedom of speech here, and its the voices that are audible are the only ones that count.  sorry if we cannot consider your position if you don't speak up,  but afterall, we cannot read minds.

the posts submitted do not represent the ideas of the board, the administrators, elected officials, world council or the web host service.  they are believed to be the truthful opinions of the person who submitted the post.  so therefore the only person responsible are the ones who posted whatever you deem innapropriate.
be warned, we are a site which promotes freedom of speech and expression.  so we will be lax on our rules.  it is up to the community to teach each other.  if for instance, someone states something that is obviously testing the right to free speech, we will allow it.  however, we expect the community to be on that like flies to fresh dogshit.  holding the idiots beliefs under a microscope and making them accountable for their words.

freedom of speech stands above the freedom of the individual, for the purpose of this forum.  if the individual is offended, it is their duty to stand up for their rights as well and utiliziung freedom of speech to stand and be heard.

Intensity? Management

p.s. learn to expect drama to happen here.

so we will be lax on our rules.?
The old forums didn't seem to be lax on rules-
As a matter of fact, the people running it seemed to make up and enforce their own.

Welcome to intensity mark two, Yupa, i hope you find us more accomodating this time around. If you stick closely to me, i should be able to steer you away from the trolls, but no guarantees, there are a lot of people with chips bigger than their shoulders here.

I thought id add my own disclaimer just to be on the safe side, my lawyer inform me that it's legally sound and will hold up in any court of law in the land.

Disclaimer-

This site it is McJagger's fault, of that there is no doubt,
i asked him to tone it down, i begged and screamed and i shout,
but he said "nay, im doing this here thing" just like a common lout,
well i hope he see's sense soon before we're all stubbed out,

This madness it's down to McJ, it's his responsibility,
if anything goes wrong, well speak to him, it's nothing to do with me,
that's as sure as the human-sized cat will knock on my door this night at half-past three,
my friends i shall haste away as it's not my fault as even a blind man can see,
I sure hope that cat is in good spirits today, i know i'll offer him tea!

I don't think I ever saw this section. If I read it when I first joined, I would not think it meant the literal freedom of speech. I would have thought it meant what I was taught it meant as a kid.

It means you have a right to your own opinion, right to your own beliefs, right to protest (as long as you are not disturbing the piece and trespassing, damaging any property) and disagree. It does not mean you can be rude and nasty, bully, slander, etc. Yep my mother taught me to treat people with respect. She even get mad at me when I bully other bullies but that rule never made sense why I had to be nice to them too. But then she turns around one day and tells me how to stand up to one of my bullies by telling him to look the words "stupid" "dumb" "idiot" and "ugly" in the dictionary and it has a picture of him. She also did the same with my other friend who was now my former friend. I don't know why it all of a sudden came okay to do that to bullies but before I couldn't even bug them.

But it seems like lot of people think freedom of speech gives them the right to bully and be mean, slander, etc. and I say they take it too literal and my shrink agrees and so do some of my online friends and my mother I have told so far. But when I say this forum allows freedom of speech, I always add the word "literally."

I think that if anything the opposite holds true.

Actually, neither. You are the one looking for empty drama, not me *or* McJ.

I like and respect Odeon and Callaway, but, they are sooooooooooooo weak, when it comes to will power and resistance.  THAT is WHY trolls are ever ascendant!

Very right, about O. Callaway did a pretty good job of simply ignoring
most of it, once she realized she couldn't win. But, half-assed fighting
is far worse than either other alternative. Ignoring is FAR better, for those
too self-absorbed to learn anything.

I had some weed at a New Year's Eve party/jam at the turn of 2007. Haven't had any since. I knew I would be required to take drug tests to get any job worth having.

Before that, it was a yearly event at the race party, before the Indianapolis 500. Skipped the weed last year and I did not even go to the race or the party this year.

:bigcry:

I'll make the race next year, but I'll skip the dope. (could still be required to submit to testing at random  :-\)

(not sure if my morurning glory tea will show up that I had last week)
