Well, the trailer gives a pretty good idea of what to expect: lots of striking images of receding glaciers, droughts, storms etc. Also, there are plenty of graphs. The correlation between levels of CO2 and temperatures (over however many millions of years) are similarly striking.
I hadn't realised till I saw the film how overwhelming the scientific consensus was on climate change.
There were a couple of interesting analogies for people who are still not convinced: one, the fact that the theory of Continental Drift (about how the continents were once joined but later moved apart etc.) was once similarly ridiculled, and two, the fact that smoking was once considered to be safe.
Al Gore's sister actually died of lung cancer. There's a bit about this in the film. Some might find this "a bit American" (as they say), but I didn't mind it. There are several little biographical bits in the film.
At one stage Al Gore seemed to be saying that by missing out on the presidency he gained the opportunity to do what he's doing now. I thought this was a bit strange. I thought surely he'd have more influence on climate change if he'd become President.
