My best friend is an Aspie. It was magical when we met. We've been friends ever since. But in all honesty, I wouldn't want to meet anyone from I2, simply because that always changes what has been percieved as reality. I seem to drift in and out lately. I've been making a lot of major changes in my life in the last few months so I get distracted. But I doubt that I'd ever go away from I2 completely. I am more likely to need the suit, most people get sick more than I do, eatting things like white bread. Skin cancer is supposedly deadly, if it progresses to a certain point. Lets just say that because of what I went through, I am starting to question that fact. No offense, there is an association with autism and immunity, but as to it going to something similar as AS I don't know. I will be fair now, I believe at least some of this is not responding to stress the way one is supposed to, lots of people are guilty of that. If I didn't make the honor roll in school because of stress, at least I would get near or perfect attendence.

Yeah, maybe they do. But they don't all want to objectify the same person. It's nice when I have guy friends I can talk to and stuff, enjoy hanging around with.. who also like to hang out with me.. knowing for a fact they're attracted to and interested in someone else - so they guenuinely enjoy having me as a friend. There is no point to DNA replication; it just so happens that this is how DNA "competes" for resources (i.e., nucleotides); it's all chemistry in other words. All other things are illusory. Even placing evolution on the scale of the individual organism is too large because genes even within the same organism are often juxtaposed with one another (e.g., the propensity towards cancer, etc.). It's all about DNA replication.

Also, what you said is true for the most part, but going back to the 'genetic level' argument, there are ways to propogate your DNA other than making your own offspring, through sex or otherwise. On a genetic level, your own life is worth the same amount as any one person who shares 100% of your DNA (which would only apply to an identical twin), or any two people who share 50% of your dna (such as your mother, father, or children), etc etc. So, taking care of your family (i.e. your genes) is another way to 'win' and, I think, explains a lot about self-sacrifice and why it got into our repitoire in the first place.

I didn't change it to shleed myself, a few years ago some guy on a forum mispronounced my DJ AshleeD (only used Ashlee because Ashley didn't gel well with the D) username as "A-shleed" rather than "Ashley-D". The A was muted and they began calling me shleed, which I slowly picked up for my own use. I actually didn't like the name at the start.
The last post was just a quick version of that, as I wasn't arsed to type the whole story. And naturally, the guy who started it was a Yank.

America is just so damn huge. I am not willing meet up with people that are more than a day's drive from where I live. It would be fine if I had another reason to be in that particular city (visiting family or other friends). I have a good friend that lives in Virginia with his wife and half of my family is in Boston for instance. I have an uncle in LA, but I was just in LA a few months ago haha. I would visit either of the two mentioned places above because my cheap ass could get out of getting a hotel room (sleep at a family member or friend's house ftw).

I do consider the practice of labeling every famous dead person one admires as aspie/autie to be fucking ridiculous. In your professional practice working with autistic people how many have you officially diagnosed? I ask because it took me about a year to find a shrink who would diagnose a living adult and it was 14 months from the time I suspected that I was on the spectrum until I was DX'ed.

Our former PM was criticised for being autistic a lot. And I have seen it with more politicians happen. Not as vehemently as with JP Balkenende though, he did have some socialising awkwardness, that did not do him any favours.
So, not all famous people who get the verdict "on the spectrum" get it for the greater glory of people on the spectrum.

No. It does not. However people on the autism spectrum have a much greater tendency to not have a job, not have a drivers license, have hang ups about using public transport, and be social retards that don't form age appropriate relationships. Now take into account that not all of the 1 in 150 people that are autistic are high functioning and the potential for high numbers of famous creative people being on the spectrum really dwindles. In principle we are not at odds with respect to that. When someone is preaching to the choir lack of proof of big claims will not be required. I did work with autistic folks before and yeah, there are traits I do recognize in other people that are on the auti-spectrum (quite easily). It's no science whatsoever but it's a bit like 'knowing me/knowing you' in a way.
Um, tempted a little to seek for a more solid base for my claim.. and could go through Van Gogh letters wrote to his brother again but I'm not going to. The 'sense' I got reading some of them was.. yeah, he might be.. he might. Read stuff about the shy and always polite Hendrix as well but ja.. no empirical proving.
Honestly, I'm also fed up with the 'thought up' or suppose to exist aspies supremacy some acting out here and there. I really don't feel an asperger is better or more gifted than others not on the auti-spectrum. For some it's like a compensational 'superbius' for basically feeling insecure and/or lacking social or other skills themselves. Like a group façade or something.

I'm usually up for meeting anyone. When I was in Eugene, I met a handful
of folk from WP. Didn't connect much with the one male (nothing terribly
uncomfortable), but felt very comfortable with the women I met.
Went to an AS group here in Phoenix, and it was a lot less promising.
Maybe in part because I was less involved in the online community,
but it felt more like I was dealing with people who shared a problem
rather than just hanging out with what I'm used to clicking with.
Most of those in Eugene were with the university though.

I'd absolutely love to meet Ren, as well as Raxy and her pet wolf, the ever lovely and elegant miss K, duckfetishgirl would I think be someone I'd get on with like a house on fire, Al, CBC. QV (and meeting the PR would be a dream come true and a great honour to boot, she just gives me such a case of the warm fuzzies:))

One of my 3-4 favourite people on the face of this earth, and someone on who's finger I'd gladly stick a wedding ring. Brilliant, smart, funny as hell, a tough lil cookie who isn't afraid to let rip and stand up for herself and for other aspies/auties, a truly hilarious razor-sharp snark-off when she wants to use it, and looks absolutely to die for. There is drop dead gorgeous, and then, there is Kassi. Someting else entirely, leaving drop dead gorgeous far behind eating her dust trail. Don't know if she knows or not but ever since I first spoke with her she's had me hook, line and sinker.

Venomous perhaps, but only when she bites people (who deserve it that is, and when that happens there is a very strong tendency for it to be absolutely hilarious. I'd LOVE to be watching when she lets loose at autism squeaks...hehe I've never been there, but I've heard <whispering voice> terreeble theengs < /whispering voice>), she seems good with kids, got a good heart. Well not counting the crazy cat ladies that always seem to have more cats than floor.
And I've both known her to look out for people she cares about when they were in trouble (not my place to say what exactly, but helped her out once when one of her friends was in a potentially really bad situation) and she herself helped me out in a ways too, spotting my nasty piece of work former housemate/lodger for the sociopathic, psycho borderline hell-bitch she is.

Mostly as a kid, I've had my pyro days alright, some pretty funny shit. One in particular I'll never forget is launching a DIY'ed RPG down a sewer pipe. The shockwave that came rushing back damn near knocked me sideways:P
