hey, did you know that a good way to pad your stats is to simply hit the quote button and then answer each question one at a time?
i like numbers and stats, BTW.

i have never heard of Italian wedding soup, what's in it?

Hmm... if I felt that high post counts meant something more than high post counts I might do that...

This delightful soup will help to celebrate any grand occasion. Small, Italian beef meatballs married with chunks of tender chicken meat, tiny ball pasta and spinach in a light chicken broth. There’s lots of love in every spoonful.

If yes, how can you listen to such vile misogynist hateful filth?!?!??! >:(
If no, why do you hate black people you fucking racist??!?!?!?!?!!?

I like bread with my Itallian Wedding Soup - most other soups I prefer crackers.

I don't like gangsta rap, but I have a gangsta rapper friend, so I can't be racist. I collect token friends from all of the minority groups for just this such occassion.

Who are you on WP?  The other boards?

From whence does your username originate?

What is the most you have listened to a single song in a row?

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I've been lurking long enough and read enough threads to have an idea of what I'm getting myself into. *L*

How long have you been lurking?

Who told you about this site?

What is your favorite thread so far?

What do you look like?

Who are you on WP?  What's WP?

The other boards? Over at aspergianland I'm Orbit. I don't go to any other Asperger sites. I don't think any of you go to any of the other forums I go to.

From whence does your username originate?  Some subconscious region of my brain I can't seem to tap in to. I just wanted something original and neutral and that popped into my conscious mind and I didn't question it. I should come up with some cool reason though... I like when there are cool reasons to give people for a username

What is the most you have listened to a single song in a row?  I don't keep track of the number of times, but I'm pretty sure it was over 10 and was "Lovesong" by The Cure.

How long have you been lurking?  About a day or so before I signed up *looks it up*  Round abouts June 19.

Who told you about this site? Peter (I don't think he knows I started posting yet though)

What is your favorite thread so far? I generally have a hard time picking favorites. I like different ones for different reasons. This one is cool because people are talking to me. :D

What do you look like? Some people say I look like an elf from Lord of the Rings. (I'm 6ft tall, 135lbs, blonde hair to below my waiste and blue eyes)

do you have any quirks which you would  consider orbitual?  My computer seems to be the center of most of my hobbies. I also seem to be the center of the activity of my children and keep pulling them to myself while they seem to want to wander away... usually in places like the grocery store or crowded subways.

If you could make one change on Earth, what would it be? I'd like people to be nicer to each other. No, scratch that. I'd like rather that rooms and laundry and dishes cleaned themselves. Yeah... that would be cool.

is rob it ?  I have no idea what you're asking. Is Rob playing a game of tag or something?

I like that version too, but I don't have it to listen to...

My musical tastes are pretty vast, so I will just list what I've been listening to a lot lately, but it is not all inclusive: Third Eye Blind, Hoobistank, Sarah McLachlan, Loreena McKennit, Kitaro, Sting (nothing like the sun), Annie Lennox, my CD box is upstairs and I can't be bothered to go get it, but that's what I remember off the top of my head...

Usually to be driven completely nuts and either shut down or start screaming or in rare instances throwing things I have to have a combination of facters happening already like not getting enough food/sleep/alone time or creative outlet... but these are triggers if some of those things are in place:

- Answering the same whiney question more than 10x
- Being interupted excessively (when I'm speaking, trying to write/read or listen to something)
- Exposure to chaotic loud noises (like fighting or sports games or concerts)
- Too much activity buzzing around me

Just recently on vacation with my family I had no alone time or creativity time and we were sharing a room so sleep was a problem, and I went to breakfast in the hotel where there were about 25 people talking milling around the same couple of stations, bumping into each other - I stood at the door looking in and felt like my skin was crawling and I didn't think I could go in... Thankfully I pushed myself and with the help of my husband who knows this sort of thing panics me I was able to quickly get what I wanted and find a corner for us to sit in.

hiro, that one flew right over my head. :-X Thanks for the welcome.

What drew you to I2?
Title: Re: Questions for Orbit

After reading for a while I liked how people were able to just be themselves and say whatever and it was dealt with in the call outs where people got it all out and got over it. At least that's how it appeared.

Many forums I have gone to I end up having to self-censor what I say because people are too sensitive and when something does come up they never want to talk things out and deal with it and they are disingenuous when they do say stuff, and people let them get away with pretending... just to keep the peace.

Sure there's fights here, and maybe my perception is wrong, but I'd like to be around people who don't play games for a change.

were you a world class basketball player?
Title: Re: Questions for Orbit
Post by: orbit on July 09, 2006, 07:22:24 PM
No- I'm not bad at sports, but I don't like the competitive nature of it.

In 6th grade I was the tallest kid in the entire grade and when I got on the court and scored for the other team.

Everyone yelling at me that I was running the wrong way somehow didn't clue me in to what was going on.

Title: Re: Questions for Orbit

You know how there are A list celebrities, and B list and C list and D list? I'm really not on the list...  but through a hobby I became well known for in the world of said hobby, I have had the oppertunity to meet and become friends with people on the Q list.

It's not much, but you know, we hold on to what we can.

What was the last book you read and what did you think of it?
Title: Re: Questions for Orbit
Post by: orbit on July 14, 2006, 02:39:08 PM
Yes, I had a lot of fun... but it was also stressful because having your kids with you on vacation is not really a REAL vacation for the parents.

I don't remember the last book I read front to back cover, but last night I read exerpts from the Bible at a conference I went to - which I found applicable to my life and inspiring.  Last week I read several chapters from Van Gogh's letters... And as the first time I read it, it was very moving and endearing. The way he viewed life and people and how to love people is just so beautiful... and it is always amazing to see how he struggled with the cost of day to day living, and continued to spend so much money and time on painting even though he wasn't making any money!  The way he wrote to his brother and advised him on his health was very interesting too...

What do you do when you need to stimulate your creativity?

where the hell did you come from anyway?
Title: Re: Questions for Orbit
Post by: orbit on July 27, 2006, 06:48:36 PM
For me, creativity is stimulated through just about anything so there isn't usually a void, unless I'm so tired or sick or stressed that I'm unable to do anything. Most of the time it's the other way around, I have too much creative energy and not enough time to do something with it.

BUT when I want to focus my creativity for a certain purpose - such as designing a costume or developing a character for a story, I submerg myself in my inspiration, gathering as much resource material as I can stand and soak it all in - then I let it simmer and I rest. At some point I feel wrestless and do some brain storming or sketching - playing around with ideas that are forming to see if they'll work... this is usually where I get warmed up and stretched - then as the ideas are coming out of me, the sparks start to fly and I produce something.

I definately work best as a sprinter when it comes to creativity... I do a lot in a little bit of time, usually forgetting to eat and being bothered to do anything else, then I collapse.

I imagine the second question refers to how I got to I2, rather than this planet? ;)  Peter invited me...  ;D
