I wonder why kids don't buy mouthwash,
to get drunk off.
-
Then they would smell nice and clean.
Have you drunk mouthwash like this calandale?
-
A couple shots, at a time.
Cheap stuff. Real cheap.
But, I'm worried about
the other stuff that's in it.
Might make me feel ill.
Still, I like the taste.
-
Too much other crap in it just use peppermint schnapps as mouth wash it tastes better too
What I don't get are the kids who do the inhalants just the smell of them makes me gag
-

Well, it's NOT a substitute for schnapps (not that I'd buy that),
but rather for cheap brandy. Still, it's about 1/5th the price, and
doesn't require a trip to the liquor store. More importantly, I have
it around ANYHOW.
-
I'm sure drug stores tell their clerks not to let kids buy multiple amounts of cough medicine.

Yeah. But no one pays attention to mouthwash.
Plus, it comes in BIG bottles.
At 40 proof, it's a damned good buy.
-
And it tastes pretty nasty too.
-
I LIKE the taste.
-
Well then you can get your alcohol on the cheep then
-
Yeah, but I'm worried about whether it's safe.
-
I don't think so in the long run. Seeing you supposed to spit who knows what other stuff in it will do to you a little now and then probably won't hurt you but by the gallon who knows
-
Mouthwash has isopropyl not ethanol doesn't it? That'd make a person pretty sick if they swallowed it, not drunk.
-
I think that depends on the brand
-
Maybe, best be careful not to swig down a bunch of isopropyl alcohol.

I used to work with a photographer who always complained about getting a sore throat from all the talking we did, even yelling at times with groups. He kept a spray bottle of Chloroseptic around and spritzed his throat a lot. I found out later that his bottle was half Chloroseptic and half EverClear.
:D

That's the FIRST thing I checked.
No way in hell they could sell the stuff
if it was isopropyl.
BUT, the reason rubbing alcohol IS,
is so that people can't drink it.
-
Ask a chemist then.
-
But, then I'd KNOW.
No fun in not wondering.

There's no point in helping you.
You're retarded... ON PURPOSE!!!

:agreed: :zoinks:

I'm sure drug stores tell their clerks not to let kids buy multiple amounts of cough medicine.
1 bottle of DXM containing cough syrup would get a few kids smashed.
Nutmeg is another one to watch out for. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutmeg#Risks_and_toxicity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutmeg#Risks_and_toxicity)

I don't care about that, how much to get ME smashed?

Had a friend who wanted to just start eating a nutmeg,
to see how much before it effected him.
-
Don't understand people drinking cough medicine. I hated it as a kid, especially one called Actifed CC. So I wonder if it tastes heaps better now. Liquid penicillin medicine tastes nice, banana flavoured.
-
I couldn't stomach much cough syrup.
But, I'd get high off it, when sick.
-
Friend of my Father once drank his aftershave.
-
Ask a chemist then.
Listerine MSDS:
http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/household/brands?tbl=brands&id=23001001
Listerine's alcohol is denatured, so that it is not taxed as an alcoholic beverage. Some of the other ingredients can make you pretty sick if you ingest them.
-
SD Alcohol 40, the alcohol in mouthwashes, is ethanol denatured with Denatonium Benzoate, which is toxic in high enough doses, although it is less toxic than methanol, and is relatively safe as a mouth rinse, unlike methanol, which is absorbed through intact skin and mucous membranes. Denatonium Benzoate also has a very bitter taste. I believe that mouthwashes also have an ingredient that is an emetic, that is, an ingredient that induces vomiting, to counter the toxic effects of ingesting it.
-
Can't believe that they expect you to put
something with traces of benzine in your mouth.
I'm pissed about this. It's not the kind of thing that
will prevent kids from drinking it, put could cause
long term harm.
I've had a full cup at a time, and NEVER felt any ill
effects.
-
The chemical mentioned is also known as Bitrex, and imparts an incredibly bitter taste even in the ppm range. It seems hard to believe that it could be used in mouthwashes - I cant see it being practical tbh.
-
I don't like mouthwash, it's really strong
I used to like the cough medicine I had when I was a kid. I think it was cough medicine anyway. It was called Tixilix or something
-
Here it is:
http://www.tixy.co.uk/tixylix_range/daytime/index.shtml
I thought it tasted nice
-
The only medicine/hygiene type product I ever like was baby aspirin I still get orange tic tacs because they remind me of them
-
Yech!

I liked baby aspirins too. I ODed on them one time and had to go to the hospital.

:o
They should NOT make drugs taste like candy.
-
yeah i think about that sometimes when i take something that tastes really nice
they should make them horrible so you don't want them :P
-
I used to eat vitamin C's because they tasted so
good. Not TOO much harm in that, but probably
WAY over what I should have been taking.
And this was as an adult.
-
some of my chewy vitamins are really nice
i have blackcurrant ones at the moment
but my mum gets pissed off because she leaves them out for me, and i just eat the nice chewy ones and leave the rest :P
-
I used to suck on the vitamin C's that WEREN'T
chewable. And, I like to eat Rose Hips.

Mine was when I was a kid. I think that I was about four, but I could open child proof caps, even then.
The worst side effect of a massive vitamin C overdose is diarrhea, and if you take a large dose consistently for a long time, you need to taper it off if you stop.
-
the thing that's put me off taking a lot of my chewy vitamins is that it says it can have a laxative effect if you take too many

Someone I knew ODed on the penicillin medicine I mentioned. Also had to go to hospital and had his stomach pumped. Can't have been a nice experience, he was only four.

 Better to buy real lollies.

Who else CAN?

Yeah. They can cause liver damage.
