Title: Fast-Penta GalileoAce
Post by: GalileoAce on December 16, 2007, 09:20:47 AM
Figured I'd open a Ask GA thread again, just so I can later request an Admin to delete it and all posts it contains. Should be fun :)

Go ahead ask me a question.

So, does this mean that an admin can permanently

What is the coldest it gets where you live?
Title: Re: Fast-Penta GalileoAce
Post by: GalileoAce on December 16, 2007, 07:59:11 PM
In Mandurah? Not sure, it can get pretty chilly. I think down around the low 10s in celsius. At night it can drop a bit below zero, but not much. renaeden would know more having lived here longer.

Back in Geelong (my hometown), it can pretty damn cold, average of single digits (again celsius) during the day and below zero at night. During winter. In Geelong, during summer the highest recorded temp I believe was 42 celsius, though the average is usually high 20s.

Is the hot that nasty humid stuff we get here in the summer?
Title: Re: Fast-Penta GalileoAce
Post by: GalileoAce on December 16, 2007, 08:18:19 PM
Where do you live?

Most summers in the north of Aus are humid. Though they're pretty humid here in Mandurah due to it's proximity to ocean.  Geelong's summers were more of a joke. 20 celsius is more a spring or autumn(fall) temp.

Geelong in in the state of Victoria, close to Melbourne. Many people in Australia say this of Melbourne, and it applies to Geelong and the surrounding area; "Four seasons in one day."

I live in Southern New England less than a mile from Long Island sound just over an hour out of NYC.  We get snow and ice in the winter and hot humid summers. Always wanted to go to Australia but drought I will ever have the chance nice to talk to people from there though

The summers are a bitch. Not too far north and west though,
and the climate becomes MUCH better.

Interesting. Generally, such activities actually make
me feel less charged than the boredom. But, boredom
is like pain. Might be something in it, however.

I experience stories told to me (through whatever means) and then that becomes inspiration for my own creativity, which I can then use to write stories, make pictures, or other such things.

What would be a good enough reason not to ask me something?

I'm tempted to be honest and say things like "You find my answers boring" or "You don't like me/or are not interested in me enough to care to bother"... But I do prefer being a smart arse. So I reckon that a death in the family is good enough to to not ask me something for say about a month. Or no internet connection..but even then you could ring me :: nods :: :P

Right. You wanted me to ask a question so here it is:

How come/why did you become a mod at WP?
Title: Re: Fast-Penta GalileoAce
Post by: GalileoAce on June 17, 2008, 06:02:14 PM
The why is because I was asked to...For the life of me I can't even remember who it was that asked me :(

The how is pretty much the same someone asked me to. I think I was a semi-popular, and semi-prolific person on WP at the time. And being in Australia helped the mod team cover as many timezones as possible.

It was enjoyable for a short while :/

Post by: GalileoAce on June 25, 2008, 05:01:11 AM
Unfortunately no, due to it's age some of the pads have deteriorated and leak, making it difficult to get the intended note. But from what I've researched (as I never encountered that when I played Clarinet some years ago) it's a fairly simple thing to fix, I'll look into it through the local music shop here in town.

But at least I can actually get some notes, so my neglected skills haven't deserted me entirely.

Did you get the return package? ;)

It's Pilot. I do like Star Trek, but we were working our way through Farscape, so it seemed appropriate.

Any excuse to see fireworks :P  But mostly the only national holidays that fireworks are used at would be Australia Day (Jan 26th) and New Years Eve.  But no they're not legal to possess without appropriate licensing.

I like cats...

Served wrapped with masa harina, smothered in goat cheese, then baked to perfection? Enchiladas!  I must agree.

(It was three days later when I learned what I had eaten, though.)

On that note, GA, what do you think of all the (rather irrelevant) activity to your ask-away thread? Has your marketing campaign been a success?

Did you have any strong male role models that you could look up to in your life? Or were you like me and pretty much raised by your mother no matter what other men were around, even if you could respect them, which I couldn't. That or they just weren't reliable enough.

I feel I can't relate to most men out there if any In a manly way, even though chances are I'm probably quite normal, its just I don't feel that way or have that connection. <shrug>

Nah my Dad was around all the time, though I interests differed alot (he's more and outdoorsy handy-man kinda guy, very personable too). I also went to an all boys school, and didn't have a clue on how to interact with girls outside of my family until I was about 18-19...maybe even 20.

The constant joke is two minutes. Women complain about not being satisfied while their male partners get their rocks off. So some of us learn to go the distance and beyond and you still complain. We give you 50+ orgasms in a session and you complain. What do you women want? I think the time is coming for you all to become lesbians. You can always Strap It On! Nice Helmet reference! :headbang2: Soon we will have anatomically correct, life-like fembots without all of the emotional confusion. We won't need you except for babies and eventually we'll be able to do that completely in a lab.

I for one would like to keep you women in the picture, so let's figure this out and let us men know exactly what you want and need! No more games!!!!

Either are most men that wear kilts.

But hang on, I know I'm not fully knowledgeable about all things gender issue/confused, but can one be a woman trapped in a mans body and be happy to be there? Or would that be a man trapped in a woman trapped in a mans body? Now I'm confused.

I guess the real question should be, are you comfortable enough to discuss this in your ask away thread?

Not entirely comfortable, given past incidents...and a recent PM on WP, no.

But I'll clear up some terms:

Transvestite is someone who enjoys/feels better wearing the clothing of the opposite gender
Transsexual is someone who feels better in the opposite gender (ie: social role, body, clothing etc)
Transgender is an umbrella term that covers alot of cross gendered behaviour/people
Genderqueer is another umbrella term that is slightly outside transgender.

I don't like the term transsexual, personally.

Yeah, I pretty much understand that anyway, I guess I'm really wondering where you see yourself in that spectrum. If you can even answer that.

I'll be honest, it does make me somewhat uncomfortable. I don't want to come across as insensitive or offensive over a subject that is very serious. It does make me question how I should relate to you even though it shouldn't matter. It's probably just as confusing to you as it is to those around you, but you have to live with it always until, if ever, you resolve these feelings.

I guess it would also help if you could say what or how you would like others to treat you over this. Do we keep relating to you as we did before?

Just remember that I really don't want to be retarded about this. I just type and that happens automatically  :green:

Nice to see you about
Thanks...But that's not a question! :P
Are you cleaning up after yourself now?

Huh? I don't understand.

I think you should get into kilts. Solves all your problems from all bases perhaps.
(I don't claim my advice acually helps people, online play may change gaming experience).

Disclaimer aside, I'm not a transvestite :P

Status Quo until further notice I suppose. It's the internet, I'm not sure how much could change other than replacing he for she (which anyone can do if they feel so inclined), it's mostly the real world where my issues lie.

On that spectrum I somewhere around transgender.

I'd think that was only correct if the base assumption was "Guys don't wear skirts."  Hence why kilts were brought up earlier- those are societally normed "skirts" that men "can" wear.  In a venue where it's not abnormal for a man to wear a skirt, a man wearing a skirt would no longer be transvestitism, because it would no longer be him wearing "women's" clothes.

Also men in some pacific island nations wear skirts. Like you'll see their politicians in a business shirt and jacket with a matching skirt.

I ponder... An ask away thread is only useful provided people actually ask things... So instead of waiting for people to ask stuff, maybe one could post anything in their question thread, as a sort of blog if you will, and people can then comment and ask questions based on what it posted... an idea...

Just wondering if someone had called you an inconsistent hypocritcal lecturer recently.

Not by one person no.

I've been called a hypocrite numerous times by numerous people, I've come to accept that no one can keep everything they've said straight and completely consistent, but people here seem to take umbrage at hypocrites, so best announce it so they too can accept that flaw, at least in me.

Inconsistent simply comes in because sometimes I'm not hypocritical :P

And renaeden commented on the way I wrote, saying it wasn't like how I spoke, that it was....and I finished with 'like a lecturer?' with a smile, and she replied with a yes.  ;)

Given the attitudes of some of the members of this site, I think it best I have that disclaimer. :)

Started at the age of 4.
My mother went to the grocery store.
Went sneaking through her bedroom door to find something in a size 4.

Sugar and spice and everything nice wasn't made for only girls.
GI Joe in panty hose is making room for the one and only.

King for a day, princess by dawn.
King for a day in a leather thong.
King for a day, princess by dawn.
Just wait 'til all the guys get a load of me.

My daddy threw me in therapy.
He thinks I'm not a real man.
Who put the drag in the drag queen.
Don't knock it until you tried it
