I put the stand together and waited for my boyfriend to come home and I had him lift up the tree and had him put it in the stand and I tightened it. Now it's in front of the window again.

You should get drunk; it's traditional for xmas. I used to hate wine, but I started liking it at some point. I don't think I accuired a taste for it, since I didn't drink it enough for that when I didn't like it; I think my taste just changed as I got into my 20's.

Stay in school get the highest degree you can and teach or do research stay in the field you like and it will be okay don't let anybody tell you otherwise you seem the type that can do it. The higher you get in your field the more interesting people you will meet

I recently had a falling out with my best "friends" (ha), but have made many more just from going to more events I like, being open to like-minded people. I find getting to know people a lot easier when I'm wasted mind. Keeping in touch with friends is another issue though :-\
I'm sure there are heaps of people who have similar interests to you Soph, the trouble is knowing where to find them.

i only ever go to lectures, library and museum (unless you count buying lucozade in Spar as an opportunity to make friends :P )
and no one is ever there except people working in the library and families bringing their kids to the museum.
things would be a lot easier if people organised themselves into groups by interest and advertised their interests to me so i knew where to find them :laugh:
i was ok making "friends" in college as i already knew 2 from school who stuck with me and people who recognised me from classes would add me on myspace and get to know me online first
it's the maintaining friendships part that i suck at, becuase they quickly lose interest with me and they all go to clubs and go out at weekends to places i'd have to get the bus to.

FWIW, when I was 19 I never went anywhere on New Years eve or was invited to go. I was in my late twenties before I actually went to a real new years eve party. :violin:

i wouldnt mind though, i wouldnt actually go even if i was invited
i just feel stupid when people ask what i did for new years eve
my "i stayed in because i was ill" excuse is getting old now lol
although i dont even have any acquaintances anymore, nevermind friends, so i doubt i'll even be asked about it by anyone this year 8)

I'v never hid the fact that I find the whole New Years thing hysteria a big heaping pile of :poop: and just people's excuses to get drunk and act like fools and try to get laid. Especially since I consider the end of one year and the beginning of a new one a purely artificial human construct. Plus the Muslims, Jews, Chinese, Japanese, Russian Orthodox church etc, all have different New Years or Calendar years.
For the most part I'm usually in bed long before midnight! :yawn:

Agreed. I can "celebrate" the "New Year" just as well sitting in my comfy chair, with a nice glass of wine/whiskey/whatever. Warm and cozy in my PJ's and feeling fresh from a nice hot shower, listening to some of my favorite tunes or watching the hysterical masses in times square freezing their asses off, half naked, drunk, screaming staring at a ball sliding down a pole (talk about a sexual image :eyebrows: ) screaming out the numbers till the new year number flashes when the ball hits the bottom. ::) La what fun!! :P

i usually go during the day (before/after lectures) so it's mostly families bringing their kids and schools bringing big groups of noisy 8 year olds, so no such luck with me :P
although i think one of my lectures is taking us to the art gallery down the road soon
its right at the end of oxford rd which is where my university is, and i could walk down there in less than 20 mins i think, so maybe that gives me one more place i can go soon. you have to pay to get in though, the museum is free, which is one of the reasons i like it so much 8)

i was starting to get bad just before sophie died, then that hit me and i screwed up. last year i really really liked going to uni. for the first time since i was a kid i actually liked school. now it's all different. i think i'm just too much of a messed up person to get through normally

my family know sometthing is wrong (or at least they did, they might think im ok now), but i dont think theyd understand because sophie lived so far away. people IRL don't seem to realise she was still my friend.
i guess i have no choice but to get through it, bad or good. it will probably always be bad though whether i get out the other end or not

i don't know what anymore. i mean i know it'[s history, but whenever i try and think about it in terms of the future i just think about sophie and lose all motivation. im hoping this is temporary, it's been two months today (boxing day) that i found out she died. 2 months, 2 days since it happpened. maybe this will change in a while?

much better turn around times (not so small as 2 mos.)
with prior losses.

i probably should have told someone when it first happened. god i was fucked that week. i really am surprised i didnt end up in hospital or something. im glad i didnt though, theyd have worked out i was suicidal then and it would have jut made things worse i think. my mum says id get diagnosed with an eating disorder as well (i dont have one), and i DEFINITELY dont want that
i think if i told someone exactly whats been going on, id end up back at the doctors and forced into counseling or something, and counseling doesnt work for me i dont think

the only way i ever got over people not liking me when i liked them, was to find someone new
and the only way i broke that cycle was when i stopped liking a girl at uni, when sophie died.
i cant use either of those to help me with this though as finding someone new wont work and someone else dying wont work

in their own way. And NOT a matter of finding
someone new to obsess over, but finding a new
love, in it's place.
Hell, I know you don't want that, but the human
condition is such that, if it happens (and I think
it will), you will go with it, and be happier.

never had a proper friend before or anything, so she was the first person
and she was special
i dont think i could love someone ever again now ive loved someone like sophie, she was everything i would want from someone, we had all the same interests and found the same things funny and the same things sad and had the same opinions and liked the same music and wanted to do the same things. the only thing that made me sad was her depression/eating/drugs problems etc. and theres no one else in the world that could be all of those things (and i wouldnt want someone to replace her). but i dont think im capable of loving anyone who isnt like that. and thats shit i know, i am a pretty shit person when it comes down to it, i admit that. but i dont think i can ever love anyone else now besides my family.

look at the years of effort, to try and rebuild the
kind of trust, and wonder if I've got that in me.
I made a serious attempt to try and find such a
love, outside of humanity - I couldn't do it. But,

I don't think you knew each other very long, but I do believe that you can become very attached to people in a short amount of time.
Nevertheless, you are reacting a little extreme towards her death.
I'm not having a go at you, it just appears strange to me. There's probably a lot I don't know about your situation, despite the amount you write about what happened here :p
Also, could you not feasibly form such a connection with someone else, considering the ease which you made friends with sophie, in time?

I got some expensive scar cream, with hydroquinone(skin lightener) and oxygen peptide A(helps in the production of colleagen). I have large scar on my back, shoulder, under my arm pit, and both sides of my belly near my balls. I had hernia, appendix, and unecessary cancer surgery. Idiot doctors, I will teach them a lesson, show them how its done. I actually move the chairs to get under the table and I move the rug to get what is underneath. So, I will be in shape for my job as a doctor. Too much suffering, each time a trauma gets removed, I feel a piece of me coming back. Sensitivity hurts more and more. My spelling may improve. :)
I blew alot of money at C.V.S. I bought lots of spices, ginger particually, gonna snap my ginger root. I bought myself a bag ful of almonds and raisins instead of gluten free corn chips. I bought my mom a box of sleepytime tea, and a 1lb bag of rese pieces. She was made I wend out, but the stray and my cat needed food, and the pound did not come and get the stray. The cat I named Jessica is constantly hissing at the other cat. The other cat, stray, licked me a few times. Mom had trouble sleeping that night. They gave her new meds, giving her the same reaction as abilify, sleepy. I bought myself some sleepy time tea also.
