Title: Election day
Post by: Parts on November 05, 2007, 07:54:45 PM
Tomorrow is Election day in the US we are having  city ones for just about every thing I even know a few of them.  I'm hoping for a big Democrat win though I am not one(registered independent)  just feed up with our Republican mayor he's a real ass. Any other good races going around?

Oh fuck, they got rid of the old machines?
I loved them. Some of the best success rates
around.

Oregon uses mail in ballots. Apparently gives high turnout
rates. Not sure I like that. I think that people should have
to put some effort in.

Yeah no more levers and my wife said I can't buy one of the old machines even if I could find one

Mail in high turn out but maybe not the ones you want you should have to put some effort into it

well we have poll stations for one and its all ballot voting with paper and such...

and cardboard cubicles for privacy...

sure its archaic but its convenient and actually induced effort on the part of the votee. so cant complain

Not so sure. We use paper ballots, and it's not
a big problem. If they're well designed, they are
pretty easy for people to deal with.

unless you actually like lawsuits etc etc... then you could just go through that whole laborious process of whining and bitching for an ultimately useless purpose i guess...

but only if you really liked politics (which incidentally i dont)... but i guess democracy has its uses...

Democracy is like Two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for dinner...

We will have paper ones tomorrow and have to scan them
The problem would be in designing them Florida thought theirs were fine till 2000 and we all know what a mess that was
