Crazy. I would never wait outside for a new product. Reminds me of the WII and xbox 360. Are people going to kill each other for a iPhone or be spiteful.

She paid for the guy's first place in line because the greedy thing wanted all the iphones, which would have screwed everyone else who had been waiting in line, but she was allowed to buy only one. Good for them for planning for that.

I like my iPod. I think that Apple did for music what Microsoft did for the operating system - they pretty much created a standard platform and took the confusion out of using MP3 players. They also legitimized the music download industry by creating iTunes. I think that they did a good job at that.
As far as I can tell, they haven't tried to run any other MP3 manufacturers out of business like Microsoft has done. They just improved the consumer's situation. Significantly.

No, not me, I just didn't want to seem accusatory. Seriously, screw Apple and iPods and college/professional beanie baby equivalents in general. I had one, once... it broke in under a month.

Meh. iPod=style over substance. Having said which, I have nowt major against Apple other than iTunes use of DRM and the lousy amount of royalty the actual musicians get. DRM = Dunc no want it. I will do as I like with the music I download/rip, ta. :finger:

You don't have to use iTunes. You can use ephpod to take the music off of someone elses iPod and put it on your own (or vise versa). Ephpod basically owns iTunes. Anyways I will take the iPod's touch sensitive wheel interface anyday over the other crap I have used (gave away my Creative Zen 20 gig). I don't burn/rip songs with iTunes anyways, also I torrent most music. Artists get jack off of record sales, they make the real money off of touring. That is why I actually go to shows of bands that perform on real instruments live (not electronic). I have had my iPod for 2 years with zero problems, A coworker of mine has had her iPod for almost 5 years. I have had no problems adding shit to my iPod, video does need to be converted to fit on the small screen obviously.
Microsoft and Apple stole the idea of a GUI OS from Xerox anyways. I will run Linux the day it supports the most current version of DirectX games, otherwise it is useless to me. Otherwise it is just good to put on a box for the hell of it. I had a Solarys UNIX PC box a long time ago haha.

thanks for the input... ive had a terrible music-karma year...
my car got broken into and i had about 200 cds stolen... and now my mp3 player died w/o warning... and my hardrive on my personal pc bit the dust.
i literally lost everything ive ever amassed.

Well, if the outrageous price doesn't get me, the fact that it uses AT&T kills the deal. AT&T sucks in the midwest unless you spend your entire life in the city. They are also really shady, my grandmother cancelled her plan long after her multi-year contract was over, and they re-activated it without her permission and sent her a huge bill which ended in a legal dispute.
