Title: Anyone game for an adventure and being in a documentary
Post by: ladytron on May 21, 2007, 04:52:41 PM
Hi

I am making a feature film documentary about the current state of affairs (political, therpeutic etc) for children and teens on the spectrum.

The meat of the story is going to be filmed in Spain, on a 40 day journey.  Costs are provided.

I need a family (either mom or dad) who is willing to come with their AS or ASD child - aged 5-7 or a teen - basically physically able to walk with some
strength - willing to come on a 40 day hike and be filmed for the doc.

I have many more details regarding how incredible this trip is going to be, please email me offline if you think you want to do this.
Costs for the trip and costs to help hold down the fort at home while one parent is gone on the trip are provided.

It's chance to cahnge history.  Be bold and write if you think your family can do this.  I am walking with my five year old ASD girlie.

thanks

It sounds like it will be a good trip for you and your daughter.  I wish you well.

Wow. Probably want on the older side - I can't imagine a
5 year old on a 40 day hike.

It's not just a regular ole hike.  There is transportation of sorts and hotels and lots of interested European people along the way.

C'mon. Any adventurers out there who want to change the world?

I'd have to borrow a kid,
and that's mostly illegal.

Have you tried over at
WP? More people might
make it easier to get someone.

Forgive my ignorance...  what's WP?

Thanks!

In terms of kids - they need to be mostly physically fit in body.  The other stuff like verbal etc. is completely optional.  I'm going to have a souped up (featherweight) pram for my daughter so she can rest and nap while we hike of necessary - I'll push her during those stretches.  Where we are going is some of the most stunning countryside in the world.

When the road gets rocky or steep I fold the pram and throw it on my back.

Crap, I wish I wasn't 30.
I once walked 80kms in three days. And there were no hotels.

Oooh, what a chance of a lifetime! I am sorry to be of the wrong age. And this would probably be the only time I regret that I can't have kids.

Well all the best to the other lucky buggers.

Well, I'm not a teenager and I don't have a child to bring along. So that's me out, isn't it?:(

No one out there ???  C'mon it's an all expense paid trip to Spain, stuff covered at home so whatever spouse is left behind won't be sad.

Anyone?

How about if I pretend that I'm both the parent and the
teen?

Or, maybe I can convince some young
thing to pretend to be my daughter.  :eyebrows:

Anyone?

Expense paid trips could only take me away from here. No sale! I like it here.

Besides, your itinerary sounds like a grueling nightmare for my autistic children. I torture them enough trying to get them to brush their teeth, properly.

If you wouldn't mind a 30 year old autistic female coming along by herself (no children), then I'd say, "Yes!"

That's for the best. If you did, I think I'd want separate traveling arrangements.

One just has to pretend. It's easy enough to pull
off youth, when necessary.
