Well, I only work 37.5 hours a week at the day job, sometimes less due to vacation time (I've been there 22 years; it adds up!), and the evening job only adds another 14 or 15 hours per week, so I do have days off and, of course, my late nights! :thumbup:

Used it for learning Spanish. It works very well for basic skills, but as with all of the language courses like it, it's advisable to read grammars and various guides to fill out the blanks. I discovered that I became pretty good at translating but less good at listening.
I like Pimsleur, though. It's well conceived and you sort of get into it after a while.

I suppose it varies with the individual. I may go to Quebec for a French practice trip prior to Paris since it is cheaper from Northern California than Paris. I believe that I will have a few hundred hours of practice by next Spring when I go. From living in Spain I know that constant exposure is better than class time. Have you been to London Eclair? I love that city. :2thumbsup:

It is Odeon who is borderline (and a bit over the border at times) OCD. I only suffer from the slightest tendencies and it only comes in waves. (Do not misunderstand, I greatly admire, Odeon.)
Right now, I can actually perceive a small gray line between almost everything. Not only am I resisting the extremes of polarity (one of my challenges), I am diving headlong into the waters of ambiguity that I am able to discern.

Apparently there are ways to tell, yes, because they send you a paper with percentages on it...
something like "89% European, 9% Native American, 2% Sub-Saharan African." I have heard of at least one person
getting peeved because she was told she was part Native American but the test said she was part Asian; I imagine that is
because Native Americans have a lot of DNA in common with Asians, but I don't want to assert things that are beyond my ability to prove.
Anyway, I'm sure critics could find faults in any such test, but I'm still curious. :nerdy:
