This forum has been a bit overly primed for drama lately and I thought that this place would do well with a bit of a distraction.
Are any of you people related to anyone famous?
The only person I know that I am related to that has any claim to fame is this fella.

I'm related to me. Case closed.

I am not related to Queen Victoria or any other queen. :'(

Ezra Pound.

My grandfather was a well known musician, widely known as the best string bass player in Australia for many years. Of course he wasn't all that well known outside of the music industry, but as a kid I did see him on TV sometimes.
I'm not actually related to Tom Jones. He's just a guy who, I have it on good authority, was almost as good at shagging as I am.
My grandfather-in-law was an actual king, but not a blood relative of mine so it doesn't really count.

You don't count? Don't be that hard on yourself. Others will do it for you, no doubt.

My second cousin (Clayton Byrne) played baseball for Perth Heat and also for Australia in the 2000 Olympics.
That's all I have, heh.

Al is closely related to Australia's greatest politician:

I am indifferent to Jo. There were better and worse Aussie Pollies. But my Great Grandfather was a Senator and at one stage an Acting Prime Minister. That will do me.

I'm related to the Minnesota University Mascot, but Goldy claims he doesn't know me. :zoinks:

Are you channelling Regina George too? High five!

Thankfully no one that I know of.

Family legend says I am or was related to some famous singer in Quebec Canada. I never got the name and this was back in the 60's. The legend also said that she was "arrogant" and became a "snob". And no, it was not Celine Dion. Anyway, this was the family "legend" as told by my mother, which I have since learned was prone to being overly dramatic in recounting tales from our family. In all likelihood she and my mother are hashing it out in the next world!

Fame is relative. I'm related to a bunch of Finnish painters and one shipowner, but few outside of Finland would know who they were (they're all dead now, as far as I know).
-
Maybe the question with some of my family should be: "famous for what?"

Banjo? I don't know. This is your bit where you tell us what they are famous for, because we do not know your family

Okay, excellent IceQueen. You are in a thread on people that are famous that you are related to. So the fluent shit speaker was a close or a distant relative? Presumably apart from fluently speaking shit, what were they famous for?
-
I am, but since they are all still alive, I will not out them on the internet. One of you knows who.
There was this one old dead guy (a little known playwrite):
-
So far, I seem to be winning this thread.
My ancestor was a privateer who is a national hero in Argentina, Chile and Peru. :M 8) 8) 8)

That's actually kind of cool.
-
Although, if you're of European stock, there's a pretty damned good chance you're related to Charlemagne.

Yes you are right, IceQueen. It is very good isn't it?

I'm related to people too religious that you hardly heard of them to begin with.
