The European Parliament Votes to Invite Edward Snowden (http://readersupportednews.org/news-section2/318-66/20920-the-european-parliament-votes-to-invite-edward-snowden)
Incredible, but it seems to be true.

they want to know more about who was spying on who.
-
Hopefully its safe for him.
-
I very much doubt it is safe for him, unfortunately.
-
Most probably he won't be there in person.
It's incredible that no one reacts against this. Imagine if they had done this 100 years ago. They would probably have been lynched.

Reacts against what? The fact that Snowden is not safe?

The NSA spy shit. Why aren't the reactions more violent, not even in America itself? People seem to be totally apathetic.
-
Actually people are reacting, all over the world. :dunno:
-
They should react more like John Brown or count von Stauffenberg! :arrr:
-
The Count was :viking:!
I hope things will change, and I do think they went too far and people *will* react, but the core issue is that people generally accept that there is going to be a state-organised control function to begin with. They like the bureaucracy and the state looking out for them, even when the state is abusing its mandate.
-
I never understood that. Even as a child I thought it was the most horrible thing in the world that the state could tell me what to do, even when I was not hurting anyone. I didn't know the term "victimless crime" back then, but the concept was clear already when I was five years old.
-
People are like that. They mostly don't care.
-
Most people are ignorant dumbfucks :thumbdn:

Julian Assange. He may visit Sweden someday. :orly:
-
Or not.
-
Or not.
The Swedes want to give him the grand tour. :orly:

Perhaps the American government will throw in an all-expenses-paid trip to Cuba. :zoinks:

We're a friendly bunch and we cooperate. :zoinks:
-
Sweden is a cowardly vassal state to the USA, and therefore Assange is falsely accused of rape here.
Fixed.
-
What interests me in regard to Assange is his paranoia. I very much doubt Sweden would extradite him to the US.
I do think he should face the hearing, though. It's rather cowardly to hide in the embassy of a South American country.
-
It's not like he will get a far trial, if they have decided to get him convicted.
-
It's not a trial. It's a hearing.
I still think he is a coward.
-
Why should he give them the chance? How do you know that he will not be arrested? It's like you still don't want to realize how corrupt "society" really is.
-
I see. He stands above the law, then. It is interesting to note that you react very differently when another kind of foreigner in Sweden is accused of rape.
-
In another thread you said that you wouldn't trust the members of a Swedish court with anything more important than sweeping the floors. Yet you think that these subhumans - who themselves think that they are God - and their laws have anything whatsoever to do with objective justice. Strange.
-
I do think you should clarify your stance re for whom laws do apply. I take it that Ed Snowden would be granted immunity as well?
-
Laws don't apply to anyone. Legislation itself is a crime, because if you are not God, you have no right to tell other people what to do and not. I have told you this before. It's the same opinion that Spooner held when he was old.
-
So why are you upset when that certain type of foreigner is accused of raping someone?
-
Because it's a crime against the victims' natural right not to be raped, not against the heap of paper called the Swedish law.
-
By the way: remember those Swedish politicians raping little girls in the 70's and getting away with it. Those are the kind of creeps that are legislators. It's a really disgusting farce.
Or take the US: you can get decades in jail for possession of some drugs if you are an "ordinary citizen". At the same time US senators and rich bastards are earning billions on the drug trade. It's a totally absurd and perverted system.
-

So the girl who says she was, in fact, raped by Assange is an exception to this? It's a very weird natural law, if you ask me.
Would it have been different for you if Assange had been just another nobody, I wonder.

Oh, I think that it's perfectly logical that they get away, following your logic that is.
-
Do you agree that it is absurd that we should obey laws made by child rapists and drug dealers on international level or not? This is not even theory, it's a fact.

Dodging the question much?
-
What question? I say that legislation itself is a moral crime. That doesn't mean that rape is morally right or that nothing could be done about it.
-
Why is Assange allowed a free pass but others aren't?
-
I don't believe that he is a rapist. I do believe that these girls from Göteborg were raped by four creeps on the 31th of December 2004 on the other hand.
-
I'll clarify something from earlier in the thread.
Most Americans are ignorant, distracted dumbshits that are more concerned with American Idol and Honey Boo Boo than what goes on in their government.
-
Most Europeans aren't too concerned about anything serious either :(
-
Why is Assange allowed a free pass but others aren't?
I think it's more the inconsistencies in the Swedish case that worry people. Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assange_v_Swedish_Prosecution_Authority)

So it's what you believe that makes a difference, then? I thought as much.

The question was directed at Lit specifically, as his stance is apparently that some suspected rapists should be brought to justice while others get that free pass.
In other words, I concern myself primarily with the inconsistencies Lit demonstrates.
-
I would have preferred that Jenny and Linda would have had guns and shot the creeps before they got raped.
-
And, I assume, the same with two girls Assange encountered?
Peru would certainly have appreciated it.
-
Girls?
But sure, if he raped them, they should of course have been in their full right to shoot him in self-defense. Ridiculous that you even ask.
-
Girls. Two of them, I believe.
-
I'd call them old hags. They were social democrats too :thumbdn:
-
Social democrats deserve it, is that what you are saying? ::)
-
I didn't say that, I just don't like social democrats. Of course, most Swedes have such a lukewarm personality that for them social democracy is to be a true revolutionary.
-
/shrug
We can't all be that sparkling personality that is you.
