Thank you, folks.

The birthday, yesterday, was nice. First, a lot of groceries shopping.. then, quite a bit of cooking/preparing stuff. Soup, plate of various sea food, potato salad, green salad, etc..

And, mother and sister's family (of five) came over and we ate supper together. Blahiah.. was cosy and ja, nice. Was quite tired in the evening.. but that's okay.

Thanks guys. It was a nice day.

Also, they gave me some money (as a present/bit lame maybe/but.. ) so I can buy myself a proper pair of reading glasses soon. Um, I need them.. nowadays.

Die uitdaging wil ik wel aangaan maar ietwat later dit jaar dan. Say, in het regenseizoen.. want de tuin heeft nog aardig wat kluswerk (b.v. de laurierhaag moet nog volledig gesnoeid worden) voor mij de komende tijd. Zag het filmpje en ja, de bereiding van het croissantdeeg vergt toch wel wat tijd.

Mmmm, ik kan natuurlijk in de wacht-intervallen de buitenklus klaren.

Well, we'll see. Bet I'll post a picture when I've made the croissants.

Wacht-intervallen, en klussen buiten. Bij mij gaat dat altijd fout. Zwarte rook uit de keuken en zo. Want, tja, van terras schoonmaken, komt haagwinde uit de heg trekken, komt heg knippen, komt..... de schok van rook uit de keuken. :asthing:

^ Ja, dat zou ook hier kunnen gebeuren. Um, well, maybe. Mijn moeder zei altijd dat ik tijdens het koken niet iets anders moest gaan doen en ik geloof dat ik me daar wel redelijk aan houd. Neem soms wel mijn dig. timer/keukenklokje mee naar boven of buiten als dingen wat langer duren. B.v. met het maken van een bouillon.

Ik bedoelde daar echter de rust periodes in de koelkast die het deeg vergt. Mengen ingrediënten, kneden, half uurtje in de koelkast, rollen, vouwen, plasticfolie erover, half uur in de koele kast, enz..

Wilde binnenkort ook eens echte kaiserbrötchen proberen te maken. Die zijn, mijns inziens, niet te versmaden. Of wel.. maar dan stiekem toch. (http://www.intensitysquared.com/shoutBox/img/emoticons/eek.png)

Yeah, that's the trick with 'real' kaiserbrötchen. Not so sure but think that folks/bakers here don't do that any more. Too time consuming. That's the frikkin' sign of these times.

Tjah, Bart, Appie en de Jumbo verkopen geen echte kaisers. Bah, ik vind het muk. Of meuk. Møk?

Blah.. maar, zo'n beetje drie eeuwen terug sliep ik eens in een bed&breakfast in Oostenrijk en de broodjes, bij het ontbijt, daar waren über-lekker. Potverdegee, met roomboter en een zacht eitje ertus. Vers geperst sinaasappelsap en.. slappe thee. Nice memories.

Mmmm, me on skis, downing a mountain, how would that go, nowadays?
