As requested, a postwhoring rant about the accident I had at home the other day. :viking:
-
It was my left index finger. :emosad:
-
I was trying to use the point of one blade to push back a cuticle ... I think. It's a little blurry now. :emosad:
-
Speaking of fingers. magical things they are, can do so many awesome things. milk cows, or eat pizza
-
I squeezed the finger to make it bleed a tiny bit, fortunately I did not lose a lot of blood. :emosad:
-
I am now recuperating quietly at home, with luck I will be all right! :viking:
-
I'm going to miss my fingers when I die.
-
It was my left index finger. :emosad:
What day was it?
And what time?
How many cups of coffee had you had?
-
I think it happened on Sunday night, not sure now, it happened so fast! :dunno:
-
I'd probably had my usual 2 or 3 cups, but it was late in the day, so I was less caffeinated. :-[
-
I'm going to miss my fingers when I die.
You're not going to miss anything. You'll be dead. ;)

I push them back with a nail, or with a small tool with a rubber foot, especially designed for the task.
(OK, I admit, I have used points of scissor blades too, when I was younger (Couple of weeks ago) )

Oh, completely forgot, where are my manners.
Thank you so much for this thread. I felt kinda neglected, but, now I am totally happy again.

Are you skilled at that? :hyke:

You are most welcome, little cow friend! :cbc: :hyke: Happy to help!

Smart of you. Did you disinfect it too?
Chances to bleed massively from a finger cut are very slim, I think.

Make yourself comfortable on the sofa, I'll get you some blood- :wine: to bring up your iron levels, and to make you relax more.

I didn't disinfect it, it was barely a pinprick. But I have bled copiously from past finger cuts! :orly:

Who will you bequeath them to?
-

Oh, you poor thing.
Did you see the tunnel, with light at the end, beckoning you?

Nobody will get them. exept the flame,

Maybe your metabolism changed, and you had a massive caffeine build up. :nerdy:

I probably need to watch out for that, I may be storing caffeine in my fatty tissue! :orly:

That would make keeping your levels up cheaper. :headbang2:

:O_o: maybe we are talking about different things. Here, where I live Burial is a expencive thing. you have to buy the pot of land, casket and airtime for your death. Its far cheeper to be cremated, which is what I'll probably end up doing

I know you meant cremation. But, reading your post, I saw fiery fingers making a final wave.
Hope your cremation will not be any time soon.
Don't know what I will go for. I've got myself insured, not wanting to leave kids or other relatives with costs for the disposal of my body. I pay a small monthly fee, in a couple of years I will pay nothing anymore. The sum by then should be big enough to cover all costs.
-

Ahh, gotcha. I've heard about paying a small fee like this every month to pay for your own funeral. very considerate, I'm thinking of doing the same

My parents started it for me. When you have an insurance like that here, you can get your kids started for free, till they are 18. I pay a few euros for them every month too. When they are on their own feet, a big chunk of their funeral will already be paid for. It's quite common to get things done like that here.

CBC, did you put a band-aid on your left index finger, on that fateful Sunday?
-
I'm sure there's something similar here aswell. Though, I'm sure the government wont chip in at all. Why it is so expencive to die is what I want to know
-

The buying or renting of the ground, and the costs of the undertaker are the bulk of the costs here. Crematoria are horribly expensive too here.
There are now budget funerals though, with graves for more than one person. Somehow to be buried in a crowd isn't appealing for me. I avoid them while alive, being in one when dead somehow is a horrible thought.

True that. :plus:

No, I was most fortunate, the bleeding stopped immediately and the wound became invisible! :green:

You do like to talk about others, though
Its a sign of low self esteem

Thank you for diagnosing me. can you give me something for my low self esteem besides a beautiful haircut

Increase your self-esteem by doing things you are proud of. :yarly:

You could've just PMed her, but no, you wanted to be the center of attention as always.
PM-ing would not have done, I wanted to boost the postcount of CBC. If the number of pm's would count too, CBC would be absolute postwhore into oblivion by now.

It's possible, but it doesn't have to happen. :autism:
Having the public on edge, to see how you are doing is beneficial for your postcount. We can ask about it every day. :flyingbat:

I'm off work today, not likely to hurt myself. Tomorrow I'll be slicing things on the big meat slicer, so place your bets! :autism:

You are using a smart phone?? I am impressed at your tech savviness, despite your multiple finger injuries. :headbang2:
What kind of phone do you have?

I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S3! I know the S6 is out now, but I like this one! :headbang2:

I had an S3 at my last job before they switched to iPhones. Great phone, actually.
-
As soon as I bought the Galaxy S2, the S3 came out. I could renew my contract and get another phone but I like mine and my phone bill is super cheap with no contract.
-
The S3 was a better phone. I've tried both.

For CBC, I ripped my thumb open while trimming my hedge. Probably on dead wood. Did not apply antibiotics. It is looking good. Cut away the little bit of skin that was bound to bother me later. Once that was gone, the whole tear did not look impressive any more.
But, maybe it will make you post.
-
I have become very clumsy since arriving in Canada (or it could be the unrepaired sidewalks). I ripped the skin off the middle of my knee just walking home from the dollar store (where almost nothing is only one dollar). The scab is the size of a silver dollar. Unfortunately, I am no longer collecting scabs or skin flakes.
-
No scissor accidents lately, I just use them to make sure my nails are short!
-
A couple of nights ago, I stuck myself in the thumb with my scissors.
I am not seriously injured. It's under control. Just keeping everyone in the loop. :orly:

I've had one bad cut since arriving in Canada. Probably should have had stitches but I managed to stop the bleeding after only a couple of tablespoons.
I have two S3s, one for the U.S. account and another for Canada. Would not trade for an iphone.

How do you get scissor accidents often enough to make a thread about it and revive the thread?
Did you clip your nail too short, or did you plunge the scissor in your thumb like a stabbing knife?
How deep is the wound? Can you see it on the other side of your thumb?
And would you have preferred me asking all these questions in separate threads?
-
^ :lol1: I was just washing the scissors by hand, making the blades clean and safe, and one tip
stuck me in the thumb. It was just a tiny pricking wound. It's all gone now. I like this thread. 8)

Hi CBC,
While applying another layer of shiny nailpolish on the nail of my left thumb, I'll tell you what happened.
Every decade or less, I slip, when cutting mature cheese. Last Friday it was my turn again, while cooking. There was a bit of blood and an amazing small amount of pain. I put on bandaids and went on with the cooking. After dinner I noticed the knife had gone in my nail in a perpendicular way. Hence the lack of pain. But now the nail would get stuck behind everything when doing things. So, cut it as short as I could. Also trimmed the flaps on the skin of my thumb. The bleeding had stopped. It was a nice clean wound. No nasty effects. Am now keeping my nail together with a fair amount of layers of nailpolish.
It's not really deep. In a month or so, I should be able to function without the use of nailpolish again.
