Title: Sending a message
Post by: McGiver on November 21, 2006, 08:38:50 PM
i love it when i am viewing the who's online feature and i see that people are sending a message.
what it means to me is that the members here are getting to know each other on a personal level.

i do admit, though, that everytime i see that someone is sending a message that i secretly hope its for me.

what do you do with your pm's?  do you just keep them or do you delete them?
how many pm's have you recieved?

Right now I have 340 old pm's in my inbox, because I'm too lazy to delete them.

At the top of my page, it says I have about 500 messages.  I have 33 pages in my Inbox and 32 pages in my Outbox, so the number of sent and received messages are approximately equal.  I have never deleted a message.

there is a way.

i do believe that the default setting does not save them (outgoing messages)  you have to do something to change that.  i think its a simple box click.  PI told me how, but i forget.

I have 711 messages, I used to delete all of them on a regular basis but recently have been keeping them all.

I like to see people are sending pm's too and, depending on who is sending one, I do sometimes hope its for me.

I've no idea how many I've gotten on here because I compulsively delete them; right now I have 5 old ones I'm too lazy to delete.

I have only a few, but I usually don't keep more than a couple of pages of them. On a pro sound board I contribute to, I have kept three years worth and it's quite ungainly. I expect them to limit the member's use of disk space because of some of us, soon.

That may have to happen on Intensity too eventually when we've built up a much larger membership, but I don't think that's going to happen in the near future.

I can't see it happening anytime soon anyway so I wouldn't worry about it. We're not going to get the member volume for that kind of thing to be neccessary for a long time yet.

Ah hah.  I have 47 messages.  Probably as many sent.

That actually doesn't show up using Black Rain.  I had to switch to standard to see the message  :autism:
