Wasn't it the Monotones?

Book Of Love

-Artists: The Monotones
-peak Billboard position # 5 in 1958
-Words and Music by Warren Davis, George Malone, and Charles Patrick

I wonder, wonder who, who-oo-ooh WHO

(Who wrote the Book Of Love?)

Tell me, tell me, tell me
Oh, who wrote the Book Of Love?
I've got to know the answer
Was it someone from above?

(Oh, I wonder, wonder who, mmbadoo-ooh, WHO)

(Who wrote the Book Of Love?)

I love you darlin'
Baby, you know I do
But I've got to see this Book of Love
Find out why it's true

(Oh, I wonder, wonder who, mmbadoo-ooh, WHO)

(Who wrote the Book Of Love?)

(Chapter One says to love her)
(You love her with all your heart)
(Chapter Two you tell her you're never, never, never, never, never gonna part)
(In Chapter Three remember the meaning of romance)
(In Chapter Four you break up but you give her just one more chance))

(Oh, I wonder, wonder who, mmbadoo-ooh, WHO)

(Who wrote the Book Of Love?)

Baby, baby, baby
I love you, yes I do
Well it says so in this Book Of Love
Ours is the one that's true

(Oh, I wonder, wonder who, mmbadoo-ooh, WHO)

(Who wrote the Book Of Love?)

(Chapter One says to love her)
(You love her with all your heart)
(Chapter Two you tell her you're never, never, never, never, never gonna part)
(In Chapter Three remember the meaning of romance)
(In Chapter Four you break up but you give her just one more chance)

(Oh, I wonder, wonder who, mmbadoo-ooh, WHO)

(Who wrote the Book Of Love?)

Baby, baby, baby
I love you, yes I do
Well it says so in this Book Of Love
Ours is the one that's true

(Oh, I wonder, wonder who, mmbadoo-ooh, WHO)

(Who wrote the Book Of Love?)

I wonder who (YEAH)
Who wrote the Book Of Love?

Why aren't you all focussing on the issue of naked snails?

Did you know that I bookmarked that site, but unfortunately it doesn't work anymore?

http://www.yipi.de/snailtrap/

Do you remember the linguistic challenges presented by that site?

 :LMAO:

I do.  Do you remember how hard everyone laughed at it?

(yes but it's brilliant.)

My brother was very much into keeping birds at one time. I really enjoyed his doves. You could actually snuggle with them, gently, of course.

By a long way though, the most obnoxious and annoying birds he had were those fucking red-beaked, green love birds. Those are very noisy and they fucking screech at all hours for absolutely no damn reason!!

If the doves pissed me off they would at least make a truly fine stew, but those goddamn love birds were absolutely useless!!

My sister's town has been overtaken by Grackles.  They look like crows/ravens/blackbirds on steroids and are the noisiest, dirtiest, most obnoxious wild bird I've encountered.

Back to the purpose of the thread - Does anyone have a good dove recipe?

Isn't Shakespeare dead?

Yes, corporeally, but not in the minds of the more discourteously erudite, haut monde-ish gliterrati nor those of some dying few of us still making lyrical demands upon the crumbling walls we claw in contingent hope of eluding our poetic graves.

 :violin:

Do not yet begin the wake drawn from our discharge, as we have yet to fully ebb, but within the scant dash of doubt spoke of at once out of place by those of meager mind.

You say, "You,"  and it means me, but I say, "You,"  and I am using that word to indicate something well apart from me, with little caring whether it includes you or not.   I say, "Me," and I am attempting to indicate specifically something that is well apart from you, in fact you are not even invited for inclusion into the complex set of variables that is Me.

Is the opposite of procreate anti-destroy?

Isn't there a fun third option, for us peace-loving but child-shunning types?  :zoinks:

Have you ever been the first to discover a dead human body and if so, how old were you? Further, were the maggots already eating on it and if so how long did it take for you to make sure each time that rice was not actually moving and begin to eat it again?

(Yes, twelve, yes, about seven years - as you can see, I still think of this)

How about if you close your eyes and just eat the damn things and let your tongue decide.

Then ask, "Is it really moving or is it just glad to be inside my mouth?"

I am having trouble seeing a joke here, but I would be delighted for you to spell it out for me, when you have the time.

My being quite in-Aussie, you may have to actually explain the joke, however.

Doubt that your time can be so frivolously tossed away, so if you post the joke, I will do my level best to understand it. No more would be expected of you.

Was the joke that they threw cooked rice inside the dead person's coffin at a funeral and shouted, "MAGGOTS"?

Maybe, but then I am a fast healer most of the time.  This particular case may be a bit different, however.

I DO eat rice, but I always have to inspect it at length to make sure it is not moving.  I also have to smell it, first, just to be sure.

*moving on*

I did one of mine, now can someone else show us your childhood fear/pain?

("fear,"  meaning I stayed away from closed up shacks for years, but not as long as I resisted eating rice)
