For the first time in my life I am too busy to have one.  I don't know how to feel about that.  There are several things I crave having the time to get short-term obsessed with.  I was hoping that I could become obsessed with the law, making my current situation easier, but it hasn't happened yet.  That would have been too easy.  :-\

It just occurred to me that it's shocking there isn't a current thread about this already given that this is a spectrumy place

Very few murderers and rapists have that much money.  Unfortunately, OJ isn't getting out anytime soon  :(

Become a lawyer in Sweden. The state will pay you 1250 kronor/hour, no matter if the client can afford it :toporly:

Obsessed with getting my network rock solid. Stability has been an issue due to un-forseen crap.

Then there's the usual:

The house
Fixing stuff
Vacuums
Getting stuff wrote up for the fall Ebay busy season
Getting other stuff on Craigslist
Skyrim

Gluten free recipes...I'm being told it may help, with my joint pain, tiredness, allergies, spazziness.
So far...joint pain is a little better, still tired, allergies seem worse :zombiefuck:...nothing is going to make me less of a spazz ...and I fucking miss pasta.  :GA:

We'll see how it goes. ::)

Mycology-since about age   3, taught myself via reading every mushroom book or field guide I could put my grubby little mitts on, then went out with my old man taking me to walk in the woods, so I could pick wild mushrooms to eat.

Likewise botany....lol I remember one time while I was walking w/ my mom to primary school...and she very foolishly bet me twenty quid that I would be unable to correctly identify some plant spp. or other. A lot of money to a kid that age which wanted lab supplies, so I promptly ID'ed it :P

chemistry, both  inorganic and organic. As a little wee bairn its always been a passion of mine, again I'm almost completely self taught. Pyro used to be so much fun. Lol I used to be a bit of a terror in that dept. Blowing up toy soldiers, blasting dolls into little bits, seeing how high of a fireball I could get from butane/propane, or if I really wanted to make a bang, then acetylene tanks, stuffed into a bin bag full of sodium chlorate weedkiller/sugar mixture.

Technology in general also, be it nanotech, nuclear physics, especially medical science, computer science, cognitive neuroscience, pharmacology, etc.
I want to get into genetics  myself, teaching myself, build my own equipment-electroporator for introducing genes into cells, PCR thermal cycler, gene gun, electrophoresis chamber, centrifuges etc can all be built by hand to avoid spending huge sums on kit online, so I can make my own transgenic organisms. DMT-producing E.Coli for instance, or morphine-producing fruit. 'twould be lovely to be able to bite into a crisp, juicy apple, knowing it was packed full of morphia.

Antidepressants kind of kill my obsessiveness.
But:
Star Trek
Japan (so much so that I went there in 2002)
Psychology (although some stuff I have had to study didn't interest me, it is a wide topic)

^This.

But it's better than the alternative for me, which is to have the OCD out of control.

I love to ponder my little medical anomalies.  I love it that I have a persistent frontal suture and a
slightly oversized ascending aorta and a benign arrhythmia (RV conduction delay).  I like being odd.  :nerdy:

I obsess over good grammar. Grading papers these days is a nightmare. It's one thing if you use bad grammar purposely; it's entirely different if you don't know what you're doing. Since everyone is now obsessed with calling the least criticism bullying, I can't say what I'd really like to say.

Don't have one what?  An obsession, or a persistent frontal suture, like meeeeeee?  :trollskull:

You sound like my father.  He used to complain about the poor written papers he had to grade.  :nerd!:

I  have long wanted to take up wood burning again, as when I was a kid.

I am not sure that it has turned into an obsession yet, but I have spent a good bit of my free time lately, playing, learning, researching, looking for suitable images, etc.

We have had a really mild winter, but that does not mean that I do not still get some amount SAD. This seems to distract me when it is too yucky to saw and glue wood together for other interests.

Besides having a metopic ridge, I also have a small degree of frontal bossing, resulting in a
prominent forehead, which I love.  I am proud to have a big bony head. :trollskull:

I also admire giraffes :qv: and the grace with which they get up from a sitting position.
