Title: so, you think you are a hoarder eh?
Post by: bodie on August 29, 2012, 04:39:14 PM
...this is just unbelievable!  It is amazing he is still alive :zombiefuck:

He is obviously very intelligent.  When the Council ordered him to clear his garden he challenged them in court.  He represented himself...and won    It is just tragic his whole life has been consumed by this.

Good that he won. That's none of their business what he's doing in his own garden  :viking:

Glad he won but his hoard will kill him some day.   I am nowhere near being like that but do hoard some and once was nearly knocked unconscious by a traffic light I had stored up high in my shed when it fell and hit me on the head,  I ended up in the emergency room and the doctor closed up the cut with glue.

I am a recovering hoarder!  I just had to get ruthless with my stuff!   :boxers:

Yeah, he probably has cracked all his floor joists by now.  Eventually the whole thing will come down on him.

I hoard a little, then sell it off, donate/give away what I don't want/can't use, and start again.

I'm finding that I don't have the attachment to things that I once had, but I still have the knack of finding them/or rather some stuff finds me anymore . There are some things, like tools, a few things I'd never find again if I parted with, and electronics/game systems that I keep, but the rest...if I can't sell it, wear it, eat it, or don't use it after a certain time span...it usually goes.

I have trimmed my hoard down a lot since I began selling stuff at the flea market.  I still have an attachment to lots of stuff though I too do not find it as strong as it once was it has mainly been displaced by the thrill of the hunt in finding new things.

We had an old guy who kept something that could be described as a book shop by a kind soul but as a natural disaster by others. There were stacks of books, books on the floor, books on things, books under things. Books everywhere. You weren't allowed to browse any of it on your own, you had to ask for specific titles or authors and he'd locate them for you. Every single one.

One man's hoarder is another man's hero. :arrr:
