Sad.

Turned out that it was a giant leap for mankind indeed. The aspiration to go to the moon, back then, brought 'us' a LOT of the technologies we almost take for granted nowadays.
Well, may he rest in peace..
-
Indeed.
-
Neil Armstrong was BRAVE! May he rest in peace. :viking:
-
Very sad. :(
-
I always wished that he was more publicly active. Aldrin would attend your Bar Mitzvah for a ten-spot.
When I think about what these men did it terrifies me. RIP.
-
for some reason my brain was thinkong Lance Armstrong.

Yeah, they are very similar. Both got high. One used a rocket, the other-- :zoinks:

Screw that. There are enough self-congratulating people in our country. He didn't want to milk his fame because he knew landing on the moon wasn't something one man should take credit for.

So therefore people shouldn't have wanted more interaction?

Fame is a cancer that good men don't deserve. There's a reason people like Jonas Salk and Norman Borlaug aren't household names, and that is because they saw their work as something greater than themselves.
-
Oh fuck, he is still dead?

That entirely depends on the household I guess
-
Oh fuck, he is still dead?
Can't stop laughing.
Guess avoiding bed does that.

I have great memories of the night I was woken up, as a four year old, by my parents to see the landing on the moon. The name of Neil Armstrong brings me back to that night, every time I hear it.
