OK, so, assuming I'm stupid, what's anybody want to know? :include:
-
Hi Bruce, long time no see.
:welcome: back.
-
Wildly assuming, Hykes! Delighted to see you here.

You assumed well.
-
I'm curious. What made you return to this place, more than two years after your initial post?
-
Um, nothing remotely explicable!? :hyke: Why's that one named after you, though?
-
Welcome Bruce,
Cheers for letting me know my IP address, lol.
Where are you from? I'm in England.
-
Exeter, Devon! Where in England are you, then? It's a clever little sign, isn't it? :tickle: ;)
-
Um, welcome, etc.
-
There's a little square, instead of the image at the bottom of your post, btw?
-

Who the fuck are you?
-
Bruce. What else?
-
Hello Bruce!
-
Hi, how's the duck fetish doing? :apondering:
-

My post?
That's the LastFM sig that is broken.
-
You seem to know a few people here. From where?
-
Ah. Um? Not worth fixing it, then? ::)

The LastFM sig? Ask them. It's been like that for ages. The feed is broken.
-

I'm the bovine of the place. :green:

Well, I suppose it goes with your Avater!
For Odeon's broken link, can't he replace it was more what I was thinking?
My Avatar? I just think it looks cool!
-
LastFM's broken the feed. The link is fine.
I can't be arsed to do anything else.

Because you are a pro, at procrastination, and even do it in the weekend.

Exactly. I am that good.

Oh, the Danasoft sign! That's clever, huh? Sorry (didn't I say I was stupid? :GA:). Thanks, Calloway!
-
It's clever but overused.
-
If it's overused, it's because it's clever! :squiddy:
-
But it's less clever because it's overused. ;D
-
That makes no sense at all!
-
Hey Bruce.. Um, I'm not that clever and thought WTF is this with your signature.. Well, never mind. Welcome here.
-
You seem to know a few people here. From where?
Sorry, missed that post! AFF.
Hey Bruce.. Um, I'm not that clever and thought WTF is this with your signature.. Well, never mind. Welcome here.
Which part of said signature?

She is talking about the penguin showing your IP location and what server they are using and what browser. For every person who sees it, sees their own IP address and internet browser and what desktop they are using and what server they are using. For me it says I am using Comcast cable and I am running windows and using firefox. It also says what my IP address is.

Thought the Danasoft thing had been covered. Anybody wants one, goto their site, etc. Hope it's Win7? (Though 'lost' that on my laptop, I managed to crash even W7, being particularly good at that sort of thing, :GA:). Hence, it tells me 'Linux' (not exactly informative, given the number of distros!) & Chrome & Telewest.

Devon? nah not that posh! I'm in Birmingham, in a place called Longbridge where Rover used to make shitty cars :o Where are you from?

Oh, Brummie, huh? Pretty much from Exeter, really. Born in Bournemouth, moved to Taunton about as soon as out of hospital but moved to Newton St Cyres (little village a few miles out) before starting primary school. Strangely  I don't remember all of that! Granny lived in Muxton, near Telford, though..... :mischief:

What distro do you use? I'm running Debian unstable.
-
Currently, Ubuntu 11.10. As Mint Adriane doesn't seem to want to work properly! (Laptop thinks it's lost it's hard drive, which is, of course, still in place, so running in Live Mode.) :yarly:
Not too familiar with all the distros, tbh; heard of Debian. Kind of wonder why 'unstable', it sounds terrible! Though I kind of know what it does mean.
-
Ubuntu, like many other distros, is based on Debian.
The "unstable" version, also known as "Sid" (after the kid in Toy Story who is always breaking toys), is called that because there is never a fixed state for it. The distro is always in flux. There are some criteria for new packages to be allowed in, but basically anything goes. You need to know how to fix a broken system to run it, but it's a lot more fun than most other distros out there.
-
Uh, yeah, I do know Ubuntu's based on Debian & what 'unstable' does mean, ish. Not really being that much of a :nerdy: I'm not looking for that much 'fun' with my OS. When it's working, Adriane's my idea of fun. Playing around with 4 rotating desktops, in a cube, having 'exploding' windows, etc! But you're a programmer, huh, so you'd know how to fix a broken system & all that :nerdy: stuff! Sort of missed out on that, only got a laptop a few years ago, with (notorious) Vista. Fortunately, that worked fairly well (while it worked at all!) & W7 was much better, before it crashed (doh!). Still, with the appropriate forum to ask, whenever needed, I can copy & paste code into the terminal.... :yarly:
-
I'm not that kind of programmer, though, I just know my way around Linux.
-
Probably been using it a LONG time. What I know about programming can be written in large letters on a postage stamp, so...
-
What distro do you use?
:nerd!:
If that question had been for me i would have assumed it was a typo and started waffling about the Italian place i used to work :zoinks: :hahaha:
-

You'd be looking for Debian Pasta. :zoinks:

Yay! Well, Mint (did I say?) is, usually, my favorite! I'll try it again later (assuming I get to bed tonight) & see if Adriane wants to work again, the lazy slut.

In the guide, I may have perhaps understated her capacity to remember, just slightly.
-
Yeah, you said she'd not remember from yesterday! But then, you said Queen Victoria was an evil bitch & Hykes.... Good job I, at least, didn't take your guide too seriously! I seem to fit in well here, somehow, so it's all fine, as you might say. >:D
