Title: my week off island, and my grandfathers pipes
Post by: Zippo on November 26, 2011, 11:24:19 PM
so as im sure all of you know i live on a small island off the coast of british columbia canada.

well i recently took the week off to go to a even smaller one! i know, how stupid of me.

any ways. spent the last week or so with my grandma and grandpa and than came over to my grandmothers house on my other side. helped the first grandparents with wood and am now re-installing windows XP on my grandmas computer so that it actually runs.... not that it will improve by a whole lot but i expect it will improve some.

i have recently gotten a pair of pipes and my grandfathers zippo with his initials A.J.S. engraved in it... his pipes are somewhat of a mystery as he came from egypt and married my grandmother but she can not recall him smoking them when they were married. this means they are at least 50 years old and more than likely over said age.

so that has been my week

It's good you had a chance to visit your grandparents.

Time on a small island off the coast of British Columbia sounds very appealing.  :)

It does to me too but then again the grass is always greener as they say

Sure, I wouldn't want to live somewhere that isolated permanently, but it would be very nice for a week or two.

grass is allways greener here. in the summer everything is green, come fall and winter it snows maybe once and everything becomes so wet that everything DOES get greener.

also my grandfathers pipes were passed to my from my grandmother.
my grandfather has long passed may he rest in peace.
there mystery pipes, my grandmother knows little about them.

Sorry I thought he was the one you where visiting.  So was he a real Egyptian or a British national from Egypt?
As for green I have relatives in Oregon who say that's what it's like where they live.  I personally like a colder winter than they get
