Post by: Scrapheap on January 14, 2011, 09:34:34 PM: Well, I just watched the pilot episode, and I was slightly disappointed with it. I was hoping for more bush flying and less canned/scripted drama.

Anyways, the series looks like it will be pretty interesting though. It goes into how the remote areas of Alaska get supplied by air, and the family run airline (Era Alaska) that supplies them.

Here's a route map of their scheduled flights. They also run a charter service that will take you anywhere where you can land a Cessna 180.

Yeah, you'd think that there would be enough genuine drama to make a show like that interesting, but they have to add in obvious fake dilemas to "spice things up".
