Nice to see you back! How fast is it?
Thanks Parts!
The latest version has an advertised max cruising speed of 242 Kts.
-
But where do you put the stewardess? Does it have a bathroom?
The stewardesses are tiny Asian prostitutes that "service" the passengers in the back seat. :squit:
Bathroom?? Ever heard of a "Little John" (http://safetycentral.com/noname62.html)??

Where the hell have you been!?!?!?!?!?! :eyelash:

Scrapheap do you own one of those mooney M20's and if so how much did it cost
No, If I owned one, I'd fly out to visit all you bitches!
A 1960's M20C that needs an engine overhaul will cost around $30K A late 70's M20J that's in nice shape with a low hour engine will set you back close to $100K. The M20TN Acclaim Type S brand new goes for about $600K. :-[
-
Not much into flying. Prefer 40 foot or so sailboats. Or mega-cruises.

I've had a couple of rides, one in a M20C "short body", I was in the back, it was pretty cramped. The other was in a M20K 252 Turbo "medium body", riding shotgun. Riding in that K made me cum in my shorts! That's a fast plane, and it's not even the fastest Mooney.
I'm still working on getting my PPL, but since I don't have much money, I have to "work angles". ;)
-

I defintly understand, and goodluck with your mooneyness
-
Here's a 1968 M20G "medium body" for sale for $36,000. It has a Lycoming IO-360 engine with 1,190 hours on it (2,000 untill it needs overhaul), and a brand new Harzell Scimitar propeller. Quite a bargain if you ask me.
Sooo, does anyone have $40,000 I can borrow?? :green:

Can't you go out rock hounding for those??
Yes, you can. but its considerd hard labour. its like chizaling a coke bottle out of cement.
its a snob like me wich means you can only find it in 3 locations in the world.

Yes, and you live in one of them!
Actually, I'm leaving for another geology field trip on wednesday. We're going to the Long Valley Caldera outside of Mammoth Lakes on Hwy 395. There's agates that we can mine in some of the areas we're going to, opals as well.

I dont know if you were being sarcastic or not. agate is found everywhere in the world, fire agate is not however. although you can find regular agate anywhere
my sister goes to mammoth all the time, its such a geological nerds dream. opals form anywhere really, since they are mostly made up of water. they attach themselves to fossils, bone and rock
-
Fire agates are found in California, Nevada and Arizona.
They're generaly associated with igneous rocks, but also metamorphics like schist and gneiss

You are right / wrong fire agates are not found in nevada. they are found in arizona california, and mexico.
ive never heard of a fire agate in marble :orly:
it exclusively forms in volcanic rock such as rhyolite
-
it exclusively forms in volcanic rock such as rhyolite
It's not EXCLUSIVE to volcanic rock, but most common in rhyolite. High grade metamorphics, because of the high temperatures they form at (gneiss damn near melts) you can occasionally get agates in them too.
-
dude google fire agate and tell me were they are from/located/how they are made
i know this

i understand. i get shit confused about what people say all the time on here

I'd LOVE to buy this Mooney, an M20J 201 "Medium Body"
It has a 225 HP Lycoming IO-390, LoPresti speed cowling (worth 8-10 KTS of airspeed) and full de-icing equipment. The only thing it needs is the Monroy long-range fuel tanks (105 gal).
At $136,000, it's a little overpriced though... :-\

Ha, looks like a toy plane to me. Oh well, toys for boys I suppose. :evillaugh:
-
The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. :pwned:
-
This image demonstrates the reason for the M20's forward swept rudder. With the plane at a high angle of attack, the rudder is 90 deg to the airflow. Most planes would have very little rudder control in this situation, but the Mooney remains easy to control up to the very edge of stalling.

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw it on google images.
This looks like a J model although it might be a K.

I love that shot too.
How old is the Mooney, Scrap?

The one in the pic or the M20 series??
The first M20 flew in 1955 and the J model was produced from 1977 to the mid 90's.
-
The M20 was what I meant. Thanks. :)

Mooney has been bought by a Chinese company (go figure) and is now making the Acclaim Ultra which has a composite cabin fuselage section and two doors instead of the standard right side door.

The Mooney 301 never made it into production but it became the basis for the very successful Socata TBM Turboprop.
