I see a little more in it. Like the "you are what you do" doctrine. If you spend most of your time seeking revenge and attacking people, you end up appearing that way too.

If you spend most of your time researching and learning new things, it will change your body and mind to suit the conditions you are in.

You do bad and it will fuck you up. It could fuck you up in the looks department or in other ways. Lucas has stated on more than one occasion that he was inspired by Buddhism and Judeo/Christian beliefs when he made Star Wars.

Actually with Lucas, the Intermittence was not intentional, it was a product corroded contacts via shite engineering.
