So take that Southern Hemisphere!!! :moon: I'm not jealous of your weather in the slightest!!! :moon:
I feel sorry for the rest of you fucks in the Northern Hemisphere though. :snowing:

You can take your sunshine and sticking where the sun doesn't usually shine. :green: I like the snow and the cold and the blizzards and the whiteouts. The only time I freak is if I see 15+ cars in less than 10 mins who are ditched and 3 are no longer on their wheels. That happened to me last weekend.
-
It is about 30 degrees Celsius here. I am wondering if I could get away with not wearing pants. No probably not.
-
No pants = FTW  Although in this weather :snowing: I keep that fun to the indoors. :green:

You know who I feel sorry for? I feel sorry for people in Adelaide. They are getting slammed with a heatwave this weekend, which is not expected to break for another 3 days. Emergency services and utility companies are on high alert.
42ºC = 107.6ºF

eons ago, when I was on my honeymoon, we went to Greece. In August. It was brutal! 40*c+ every single day we were there.

Wow I feel sorry for them too. We have only had one 40C day here so far this summer. Supposed to be 37C early next week sometime.

I would not let you get away with that. :eyebrows:
It's -2 here, not that cold. But we have a weather alarm. Apparently we're getting blizzard like conditions.
Hope it will stay away for a while.
Will wrap up like a Michelin man this afternoon, delivering the mail.

We don't have aircon yet at home so we might just go hang out at the local shopping centre and use theirs

I would pay pretty much to have 41oC here now. Yesterday it was -19oC here. :snowing: :snowman:

We're going to get 43C tomorrow and the day after too.
But then possible thunderstorms are predicted on Tuesday, so expect a bushfire hellstorm to brew if it's dry and extremely windy. :(

Oh crap. I hear that.

Yeah, so brace for possible hell on earth if you live in a high risk area in Victoria.

Should be okay right where I am, probably high risk near here though.

Neither do we. We have a portable evaporative air cooler, though. And a fan. I have gone to the shops before to get cool before.
It is only 21.2°C here at the moment. I would like it if every summer day was 27°C, that would be nice. It is supposed to be 42°C here next weekend.
-
It's only -5*C here today which is warmer than it's been in awhile.

I could never live in Canberra. The temperature differences within the year would drive me crazy. It snows there plus you get what you are having now. No thanks!

Yeah Bunbury is nice. It has actually been getting a bit of summer rain which Mandurah has missed out on.

If I move to Oregon, I'll miss the weather here.

:indeed:

It's also nice too have most days under 100. :P
-
Now that I have my window AC unit up and working, it doesn't matter how hot it gets here, It's 70F in mah room. 8)
Best $130 I ever spent.
I still open up the windows at night and use fans to blow in the cold nighttime air.
-
My parents out in the country have the same hot days as us during the summer but it can get cold at night so they enjoy that. I stayed there for a few days last summer and it sure was nice to be able to sleep at night with a cool breeze over me.

Decent mileage.
-
Hmmm...I probably hit right around 28 gallons actually.
A few more miles (maybe 1200) IF we're talking actual distances walked, rather than including just around the house.
No idea what that might work out to, but I'm assuming it must - because I highly doubt that most people walk anywhere near as much to locations as I do. :/
Indeed, for beer-fueled walking (to and from the bar) I only get around 500 miles per year. I use other fluids for other walks (usually tea -
and my milage there would be bloody terrible: I probably drink close to 300 gallons of tea a year!)

Back about six years ago when I was still quite healthy, we who worked in inventory at a local branch of an international big box store wore pedometers. The department wanted to challenge the sales floor. They got ALL the monetary sales perks and we, as behind the scenes workers who make their jobs so much easier, never got any.
Our boss bought ten of those primitive walk monitor/step counter things and gave five to us and five to the sales floor.
Now not all the sales staff were slugs, being that several racked up six or seven miles per day, just covering the floor and helping customers. But "our slug" working in the warehouse generally had the same. However, the rest of us usually had twelve to sixteen miles per day. My average per day was fourteen miles per day (I was fifty six back then, still healthy, but I had definitely "Lost A Step" to be honest).
We also had an ADHD guy working in inventory who usually racked up somewhere around eighteen miles per day. One day our bad ass ADHD guy showed twenty two miles on his pedometer after a ten hour shift.
:zombiefuck:
Do I recommend this job? ... well yeah if you have the stamina. The benefits are more difficult to understand to those who just want to pay rent this week, but for someone with ambition, worth the early struggle.
-
^^^ You have my condolences DD. I work in an enclosed booth, with air conditioning, my personal music, drinks and snacks with almost no need for human contact. I also work three 12 hour shifts with 4 days off per week.
Yeah... my work life totally sucks, LMAO!!!
-
Do not misunderstand. That was some time ago.
I am completely retired, now. The only thing I do is to try to support my wife at home. She is still working at UPS (if she can make it four more years she will be able to retire with her full benefits - about 5K per month until she dies) and busting her ass every day AND I taxi my non-driving kids to and from work (HEY! They both have jobs, menial as those jobs are - they are both employed), play, fun, etc.
I am a little toiled with rough arthritis pains in my major joints, but I can rest and take it easy when I need. That last job was indeed a struggle at times, but I made it through, until I just no longer wanted to try. Earlier this year (right after visiting my eighty year old mother in the hospital) I called it Quitsville!
-
DirtDawg is already retired, and I'm just starting my life? Why do I feel old to begin with????? :headhurts: :bigcry: :headhurts: :bigcry:

I'm getting some amazing Japanese chocolates delivered.
