hi, I'm a 19 year old girl/woman, I like windows 95, candles, metal :headbang2:, horror movies and Mega Man. And I live in a house with my parents and my boyfriend.
Ok, that's about it... I'm not good at this^^

Living with your boyfriend and parents, that is a interesting living arrangement.
May I ask a couple of questions. Firstly, what sort of metal groups you enjoy listening to? Secondly, are you currently or have been on the wrongplanet forums?
-
hmmmm some of my favourite horror movies are House of Wax (because of the wax and candles), Halloween, Hatchet and the movies about Hannibal Lecter. What are your favorites Callaway?
No, I'm not on WP and I've never been to it. I somehow didn't like those "aspie forums" before, dunno why...
My favorite band is Korn. I listen to metalcore a lot and some other bands like Disturbed, Metallica and Bullet for my Valentine. And many others^^

Welcome to I2! ;D
How come you like Windows 95?

I think the Hannibal Lecter movies were good. I also liked The Ring and Carrie. I know there are others I like but right now I can't think of them.

Well I spent a lot of time with my win95 pc as a kid, I still love all the old games and other software. I really do not have a reason for it. The thing I like most about it is the sounds that the cpu makes. You can make it play melodies^^

Yes I also love The Ring. Have you seen the original version of it?

Metallica FTW. :)
Hello horrorvren. :welcome: to Intensity. 6 more posts and you will see things you have never seen before....

I preferred 98 over 95, but I liked 95's sounds.
-
I like 95 because it had a MS/DOS prompt.

I remember games that you had to go to the DOS prompt to start
BTW hi nice to see some new people around

Yay I'm no longer the only kid of the forum 8)

I like 95 because it had a MS/DOS prompt.
So did 98, but 3.11 was best for DOS games for me.

I had an old setup where I had OS/2 Warp, DOS 6.22, Win 3.11, and Win 95. The DOS stuff was activated from a 3d Menu. I still have the '95 OS and the 3d Menu on the system in Victoria, even though it's 10 years old. That's the one with the dialup.

OS/2 was sort of fun. Ah, those were the days...

Wow that's impressive

Oh I don't mind. You are the first people who don't call me a freak because I like dos and old windows stuff ;D

Nah, it's grand.
I was obsessed with OSes/GUIs in general. Still kinda am.
Best GUI i've used so far was KDE during the old Red Hat days. I hate the "glossy" look of most GUIs now.
-
Hi Horrorvren.
I wouldn't mind having Win95 or even XP on my current laptop but FTM I'm stuck w/Vista. If Win7 isn't any better I'm switching to Linux.

The old KDE was nice. IMO, KDE4 is overworked and buggy, and I'm still considering a move back to 3.5.

yep me too.
But from the "new" GUIs I still prefer KDE. (I am using 3.5)
Hi Punkdrew. I've heard that Win7 is better than Vista, but I haven't tried it myself. I prefer Linux to everything from Win2000 on anyway.

I haven't used the later versions of KDE, mostly GNOME. Used to think GNOME was alright, but I dislike it in it's later forms. They try too hard to look somewhat OSX-like these days.
BeOS is another one I really like. Shame it went bust.

The old Red Hat days were, well, just old. My first Red Hat install was back in 1996, with a GUI that looked like Solaris, and while I liked that look on a SunSparc, Red Hat could never do it justice.

Well, you just lost me, mate.

What?
If a post was deleted, there would be a copy in the deleted posts forum so an admin could put it back for you.
I just checked and I didn't see any posts from you there, so are you certain that it went through when you posted it?
The most recent post in the deleted post forum was posted on September 30. Is the post you are talking about a recent one?

???

One thing you have to watch out for when making a reply post is that sometimes another post is made while you are writing a post. When that happens, after you click [Post] it will tell you another post has been made and lets you make edits to your post before sending. Sometimes you don't notice this and think your post has gone through and then you close the window without realising that.
If that makes any sense.
-
yeah i know about the "someone posted while you were typing" thing. i prolly fucked it up somehow.
peeps were talking about win 95 sounds and i said i wanted a sid station or something like that. its not important.

i think i thought it was deleted cause i linked a pic from wikipedia.
anyways its not a big deal. it was surely my fault then. thanks for checking the bin for me callaway.

Wikipedia's licenses are OK to publish, anyway. I think they are all GPL or artistic license or something.

I had a Commodore 64 once.
-
Might get a c64 soon, have plans of MIDIing it up so I can use it's SID chips. Far far cheaper than a SIDstation but does the same job.

not a bad way to go if you dont mind the consistancy and noise issues of the original sid chips.
would make a great oscilator for use with your modular stuff. im surprized that no one makes a eurorack module that uses the chip. there is plenty of info about on how to make one tho.
lemmie know how that works out for you. id love to hear a sid in the raw.
