It gets even better on into it. Try the "Surprise Me" function. Amazon doesn't let you choose which pages show up in the intial "first part of the book" view. Because it's the first of a series, there is a good bit of stage setting before the main characters come in.

BTW- I have signed copies available on my website.

Not particularly.

I was almost fired once for not being "sensitive enough". Apparently I said something that someone else found offensive. When I asked them how I should know what was or wasn't ok to say, they told me to just think about whether or not I would find that particular statement offensive if said to me. I told them I couldn't think of anything that I would find offensive. Weird, yes. Disturbing, possibly. Reflecting the speakers lack of intelligence, almost definitely.

I think I'll probably fit right in here. For the most part I like people (although there are days that I hate them as a species), but given enough time I will probably say something that will tick you off. Not on purpose. It's just a talent.

I've always believed that opinions are like fecal discharge orifices. Everybody has one, and mine is the only one that doesn't stink.

I know, but I like to dick around with the English language. Sort of make folks scratch their heads a bit to figure out what the hell I'm talking about. (Is that better).

It's fine to be creative with your choice of words.  I don't usually curse either.

I've noticed that. But some sure have cursed you...

Not that I am.

I see your book is based in Minnesota. Have you lived in Minnesota, or just a random choice of location?

I lived there for 5 years until my job started going away. We loved it there and would like to move back.

Where did you live? I was born and grew up here, went off and saw the world for a while, and came back.
I love it here, it's a great place to live.

We lived in Wilmar. I repaired dialysis machines for Davita Dialysis and travelled around pretty much the southwestern corner with occasional trips to Sioux Falls. Also had a unit in Fairmont for while. Mostly only went into The Cities for meetings or shopping.

I was just in Willmar yesterday. I live about a half hour south of there right now.

So, how's it goin' then?
I know it well. I had one unit in Redwood, another in Marshall and a third in Monte so I've travelled that area quite a bit. Used to put about 50K a year on the car.

I always thought it was funny how the roads are board straight till ya' get to a county line, then makes this sharp dog leg. That was always a barrel of laughs during a whiteout.

You'll probably appreciate these pics more than most folks:
