Title: Alone time
Post by: Parts on August 07, 2009, 08:58:24 AM
How much is too much.  I have been crowded a lot lately with the kids and wife out of school.  Thinking of going solo camping this coming week for 2 days nobody to talk to but the dog.

2 days is alright.  Will give you a breather.  I've always entertained the thought of becoming a hermit

However much you can get without pissing off your wife and alienating the kids?

How much does your better half understand your need for alone time?

If your wife's OK with it, I don't think two days alone time is too much to ask.

Sounds great. Just you and nature. Good way to clear your mind.

There is such a thing as "too much"?

Seriously in need of some here, neighbors kids keep piling in and I'm ready to scream.

My son is pretty good, the 3 down the road are monsters, parents never know where they are most of the time and the smallest just turned 4. :zombiefuck:

Hope you can get your two days soon.

Relying on the nightly hours when (almost) all other people and children are asleep does the trick a little bit. But only offers a few hours of solitude. And that is not enough.

Why is insomnia hereditary?

Me too, that's probably why I'm a zombie some days. The problem with those few hours is that I'm always trying to stay up to get more. :zombiefuck:

The same thing happens to me, then I wind up crashing.

Going to bed at 5am is not unusual for me in order to get alone time.

School will start next week again.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

That will give me a little chance of time alone during the day, since I still did not got further than a part-time job.

Thank goodness for the calvinistic working ethics here, that limits school holidays for primary schools to six weeks.

September 2, that gives a whole different meaning to the expression "land of the free".

Good luck Parts.

Got a night on my own.
My girls are staying over at Opa and Oma.  ;D

Yesterday I had a crowded house, and a completely messed up day, did not go to bed before 5 because of the need to be on my own.
I'm quite happy with this sleepover.

I need my alone time. socialising or being around people exhausts me after a few hours. I need plenty time to recuperate.
being stuck in the house too long is bad for me too though. I start to slip back into feeling shitty then. gotta get out regularly to keep my social anxiety from getting bad again and to keep me distracted from shit thoughts. sometimes you gotta put up with people to stay on the right track. i need my evenings on my own to relax watching tv, online, reading etc. and then ideally see people just during the day. i always feel like i've achieved something if i "socialise" without making any major mistakes, so I think it's good even if it's hard
