Title: Another new crossover
Post by: ford_prefects_kid on February 05, 2009, 07:28:27 PM
Hey everyone.

I'm another new member who crossed over from WP- I was hoping to find an aspie community where everyone didn't have to be so darn sensitive all the time.  :violin: <- the existence of this smiley gives me hope.

Anyhow, there's not too much I have to say about myself- I'm a female from California and I like dogs, music, movies and other generic things. How's it going?

Try not to be so sensitive here it's all in fun glad to see you post . it can be rough on new people awhile but it will all work out in the end hang in there.  After ten posts more opens.   And done be surprised at any nood requests

Heh, I wouldn't be too surprised- I've been around the internet a few times. And that's cool about the ten posts thing- from lurking I didn't see a lot of activity.

I'm glad that you aren't the sensitive sort.

*resident 'Dawg marks this thread*

:poop:

We have a number of ways to show how little regard we have for someone's clueless, whining twaddle. It still happens, but I try to just admit to it, get it out of my system and move on.

Some useful examples ...

:hahaha: :wanker: :violin: :STFU: :bunny: :gotowp: :fos: :deadhorse: :explode: :brick: :blah:  :bssign: :puke: :happypuke: :cuckoo: :kapow: :harp: :finger:

I sometimes wish we had a,  "Here's a big plastic bag, some rope and razor blades. Go play on the highway, moron!"  smiley.

Welcome, you'll find many some a couple of Hitchhiker fans here.  Can you give us an age range, generalized description, do you work, drive, been arrested much, that sort of thing...  umm, hobby?  Do you have Asperger's?   That should get your post count up past 5 or so.

Try : hanged : without the spaces.

I had to remove the "some" from DirtDawg's "Here's a big plastic bag, some rope and razor blades. Go play on the highway, moron!" so it would fit in the description that appears when you hover your cursor over the smiley.

What, is the online HGG fanbase deteriorating since 2001?  :'(  The first ever forum I joined was a Douglas Adams forum called "floor 42." It was a nice community, but they were all adults based in the UK and I was just a kid from LA at the time, so I was rightfully ignored.

Um, I've got a couple more weeks to be 22 and I'm finishing up college. I used to drive all the time but my car was stolen last week.

"Been arrested much," hmm... I've had 4 run-ins with cops, was arrested once and held at gunpoint once. Doesn't sound that impressive over the internet, but I'm innocent enough looking in person that it always blows people away. It was all for stupid shit though, like breaking curfew and and having some parking attendant tell the cops I was stealing my own car. My best story is having 2 helicopters and 3 cop cars intercept a small film project I was involved in because an old lady across the street called the police on us and said that Osama bin Laden and his men were armed and outside her house. We had plastic army guns from toys-r-us.

I don't know about HHG fans outstide of here, but I found out I had A/S when I was "42", so its been horribly intertwined with MY life at least.  I've read HHG to the Galaxy at least, oh, 5 times (maybe more, I don't do it to make a record, I just find it strikes a cord with me.  I've read some of DNA's other work, but HHGTTG is the best IMO.

What's your degree in?

Sorry about the car.  My daughter's was totalled in Aug. last year.   She's ok, got another car already.

Hmmmm, more later.

wut? that wasn't anywhere near rightfully. i wouldn't want to hang out with assholes that are that exclusive anyway. where someone is from or how old they are is a dumb reason to be rude to somebody. it's like the snobby cheerleading squad in school that pretends you're air just because you're not exactly like them.

but maybe they were so shallow they could only have something in common exteriorwise.

Sooo.... nice to meet you all. Again. How's it going?

What'd you all do for Easter Weekend?

I don't really celebrate, but I did go to the beach.

Yes, that's ten.

:congrats:

Do you live near the beach?

I didn't do much for Easter weekend because my ankle is hurt.  Someone left a pink Easter bag for my daughter on our front steps, but I don't even know who to thank for it.

I fucking HATE shit like that!  It happens here sometimes. We live on a corner that is amazingly landscaped, so people "know us" that we have never met.

(I am probably guilty, because I welcome all gardeners to take things from my own garden and I give freely everyone with questions the knowledge of a lifetime of study, regarding such pursuits.)
:hide:

Why the fuck do we make these lines in the sand then wish we had drawn them farther away!?!

Oh, hi. Yeah at the time I felt WP was getting a bit dull for my tastes. So I joined here and also started posting on another non-aspie related "anything goes" type discussion forum. I ended up at the latter for a couple years until they modded me and sucked all the fun out of it.

So I went back to WP and still found it a bit dull for me. So now I'm spying on you guys, trying to figure what you're all about again.
