My great grandfather in Poland was Jewish married to a non-jewish woman. My grandfather escaped Poland when he was 12 and was caught by the german and put in a work camp. After the war he was a refugee in the Netherlands where he met my grandmother and moved to Australia in the 1950's.

Some genealogy site says my last name is Ashkenazic also. It wouldn't surprise me, though my father
was raised Catholic, as I was. I've thought for years that some of his family might have been Jewish. :apondering:
