& chocolate, almond joy bars or anything with coconut & almonds.

Jelly bellies are my favourite, closely followed by their clone The Jelly Bean Company. Once I start eating them I can't stop untill I've finished the whole tub. I quite like those lucozade energy sweets aswell. Yorkies are pretty good. Fizzy cola-bottles aswell.
-
i love jelly babies. the red and black ones are the best
-
Reeses Fast Break, but not many places carry it.

They're not jelly babies, although I do like jelly babies. They're"gourmet" jelly beans. If you like jelly beans and you've never tried Jelly Bellies or The Jelly Bean Company, then you really should get them some time. I can guarantee you a life changing experience. They are awesome :green:

Probably Dove dark chocolate.

Currently, because I am eating healthier foods: Kashi GoLean chewy protein and fiber bar in Chocolate Almond Toffee!

Starburst Gummi fruits

I prefer choc with filling too. Its pretty boring otherwise.. bubbled choc counts as filling though.

I had some of those Starburst Gummi Fruits recently and I was surprised at how nice they were.
Twix is one of my favourite chocolates. :)
-
They're a lot softer and easier for me to eat than any other jelly type lolly (I hate jelly beans for example, the texture of them is blearrgh)
I miss Starburst Gummi Rockerlicious's more than anything in the world. They discontinued them :(

Parma violets.
GOOD dark chocolate. None of the cheap nasty shit. 85% cocoa or better. Especially in lime, salt, or chilli flavor. Salted chilli is even better.
Irn-Bru boilies,
These little hard suckers that are salmiak liquorice in hard 'sucking candy', I.e the kind that lasts ages and doesn't disintegrate.
Everlasting gobstoppers (no joke, about a little less wide than a tennis ball to maybe the same size give or take a bit. The last one I had to drill a hole in through to the center and belt it with a hammer to get it to break, (DON'T do that outside a bag, I did, wasn't thinking, they can give off some nasty ass shrapnel. And make it at least a lump hammer or claw hammer (not the claw side, they are REALLY hard) and having eaten one the less...field expedient, way, a fair few times, they will lasts a month or more if you just wash it when your done and pop it back between your teeth as wide as your jaw can distend (they are way bigger than a human mouth)
The old victory vees before they took the diethyl et
her out of the flavourings. Oldschool. Rectangular shaped slabs, like a headstone but rounded at corners, beige but tasted great. Until they fucked with the recipe.
Aniseed balls are another good'un. Or atomic fireballs, little tiny red gobstoppers a bit bigger than pea-size but with quite a punch.
Nothing on something I had once though, 'toxic waste', my god they are sour. Burnt my tongue before sucking one for more than a minute or so before swallowing whole, (diluteish) sulfuric, or middling strength hydrochloric acid got nothing on those buggers. Damn.
-
^You are opposite to me, the strong stuff overwhelms me. Kayleigh says I have "bland" tastes. Just now I had a ham sandwich. "Is that all you want on it?" she asked. Happens all the time.

Some of my favorite sweets are the ones I can't have anymore due to dental problems. :trollskull:
Among those: Toffee bars (Heath and Skor), Charleston Chew (vanilla nougat), and licorice jelly beans.

Something I've been doing lately is sucking my candy. (Why does that read obscene?) The flavour
varies a bit with the different layers on some candies and they last longer. My current favorite to suck is Snickers. REALLY different. Or you could put the stuff in coffee or tea and let it melt. Licorice tea might be good.
-
We have a new Greek restaurant in town (nearby town) and I have become obsessed with the many ways that kataifi is prepared.
Our chef makes an almond/caramel type with a creme cheese dip, a walnut saltwater taffy style with wine based dip and a pecan and hazel nut, rendered maple syrup dip variety.
Fabulous!

Maybe because you are admitting to sucking your own candy.
:dunno:
Post pics? :evillaugh:

Wish someone would make PR in candy form. Although actually getting any sweeter than she, now that would pose some HUGE manufacturing problems.
(and do pass my well wishes for a good day on to her royal gorgeousness, QV:))
As for sucking snickers bars..hhaha damn I do that, I thought I was the only one! I love the way the crappy ass milk chocolate (no particular complaint, other than that its milk chocolate..dark chocolate is where its at. 95% cocoa, is what chocolate should be, brittle, dark, and bittersweet.)
But I like the way once one has gotten rid of the chocolate, then there is the layer of slightly salted toffee/caramel on top of the nougat, and they somehow contrive to last together, just long enough so that neither is left alone, then finally, the peanuts, still embedded in just a wee coating of salted caramel. YUM.
Works with mars bars too, but not as satisfying without the texture. If you want a suggestion QV, then try 'bounty' bars, the ones with the coconut centers surrounded with a layer of almost-dark-ish chocolate, They kinda melt and fall apart into flaky sweet coconut if you hold them orally captive long enough.
Or best of all 'dime' bars, they are mostly a crunchy texture if chewed, but sucked then they are heavily salted compared to the others, and it lasts a long time.
And another thing I've been doing is getting twix bars, and putting one on the table, then breaking their fingers by whacking them repeatedly with the heavy, solid onyx mortar from my mortar and pestle (or one of them, rather) to pulverize them whilst still inside the wrapper, the result, after slicing the end of the wrapping off is a lovely kinda crunchy, toffee-laden semipowder thats chewy.
Lovely.
And lol, just trust a pack of aspies, with the occasional grizzled old Kanner's spesh-as-all-Styx dyed in the wool autist, to come up with such tweaks and innovations and oddball practices to get to work on things like candy. The texture-tweaking is kinda fun. But just..well..typical US to come up with that kind of treatment for candies. Kind of amuses me really.
And try this-get a cadbury's 'flake' bar, the flaky long pieces of airy chocolate, and whilst in the wrapper, smash it to pieces with say, the ball of a fist, whack, whack whack whack, open, open your trap and pour the whole thing in at once, as a continual stream of fine chocolate powder that melts in the mouth after just a moment. Be warned for those who can put on weight if they eat, its really easy to just say fuck it and eat the entire pack. I managed to eat about 4-5 multipacks of twix bars that way last night, doing that squishing thing. And THAT was when my appetite was suppresed by a BIG dose of meth:P
So do take into account how fast you finish them, because if not then they will all be gone in no time flat:D

I suddenly remembered mr. Collins, reading in this thread. Wrong kind of sweet, that man. The sweet smell of decay and groveling.

I'm sigging that. It seems to pertain to many different situations.
-
Currently munching my way through a big bag of bonfire toffee lollipops.
Also, have none now, but I LOVE cinder toffee, coltsfoot rock, liquorice rock, salted salmiac liquorice, and 95% cocoa dark chocolate with either chilli pepper, salt, lime or various combinations thereof.
-
Salted liquorice is amazing, including salmiac. I like the hot turkish pepper one too. My favourite is the chocolate bar with bits of salty liquorice in it. I had the McFlurry version when I was staying in Sweden, that was pretty good. As for my favourite sweet, it would have to be the Drumstick lolly. It's my alltime favourite sweet. That, and chocolate. Strawberry chocolate is the best, and Japan has the best sweets, including strawberry chocolate, like their Taiyaki strawberry chocolate Areo-like sweet. This: http://www.blippo.com/meito-puku-puku-tai-fish-shaped-wafer-strawberry.html
Some of Japan's gummy sweets taste way better than anyone elses too. I can't remember the brands.

I love gummies. I like Swedish Fish too, though I think they're American, not sure.
Though these aren't a sweet, I love Combos from America, especially the pizza flavoured ones. I ordered a packet the other day while trying to add up the total for an eBay voucher. I got a free Butterbeer. It was way too much for the price but I couldn't think of anything I wanted.

I think the company that first introduced them was Sweden based, that was about it.
Combos...the pizza are the best.
They are actually hard to find sometimes anymore, they were crazy popular in the 80's and everywhere you looked.
-
How odd. They're about £3 here for a big pack of Combos, including postage...which isn't too bad. I mean, Reeses Puffs range from £5-7, which I wouldn't pay. They're so damned good though.
A big bunch of American sweets are cheaper here these days, Butterfingers are about a £1, you can get 5 Reeses cups for a £1 and Hersheys Cookies n' Creme for the price of a normal chocolate bar.
I was introduced to a whole bunch of American stuff when I was about 12. Combos was one of them, Reeses cups and Butterfinger were others. And Charlesington Chew which I thought was horrible. A lot of American sweets are bad. Hersheys chocolate isn't chocolate, it's cardboard.
Having said that, English chocolate isn't what it used to be. When Cadbury got taken over, they made all the chocolate taste like soy. Soy lecithin they add to everything these days, almost everything, even bread, even eye sprays.. contain soy.
Oh, I love s'mores, that's a great invention.
-
Cadbury's is overrated. Always was.
-
Cadbury's is overrated. Always was.
Agreed. They had a slippery feel to them and the flavours always seemed artificial.
Edit - it may be more of a waxy feel. I haven't had one in years so my memory is a little fuzzy, just like Gary Gopher's tongue.
-
Cadbury's is the only chocolate I can eat a lot of.
-
Cadbury's ain't even chocolate, renneh, its dog muck with artificial sweeteners. The flake bars are the only stuff of theirs I can enjoy. I like to get a flake, whilst its in its packet stamp on it with my boot to crush it to powder then open it and pour the powdered flakey chocolate down my neck.
But REAL chocolate is at a minimum 85% cocoa, good chocolate is 95%. Proper good decent dark chocolate.
-
Yeh, Cadburys is rubbish now. Admittedly it was never that great, but compared to now, it wasn't that bad.
Lindt is rich, but good. Hotel Chocolat is really overrated. Belgian chocolate is the best. I had some when I was in Belgium, I wouldn't recommend the place as a holiday to anyone though.
-
There's not much choice for chocolate in the supermarkets here. Cadbury, Lindt, Nestle or Cadbury. Take your pick :P
The best chocolate I've had was Haigh's. They have a shop in the Queen Victoria Building (yes, you have your own building) in Sydney.

Hershey everywhere here. I have never toured their chocolate factory...but I'm thinking it wouldn't be a good idea.
Love Kit Kats...it seems I'm not alone either.
MANHATTAN, Ks. —
A Kansas college student gave away thousands of candy bars on his campus this week after a thief broke into his car and stole his Kit Kat.
According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, Hunter Jobbins, a 19-year-old freshman at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, tweeted about how someone stole a Kit Kat bar from the cup holder in his car on Sunday.
Jobbins told reporters that he left his car unlocked for a few moments while he carried his laundry to his dorm room.
When he returned to his car, Jobbins found a handwritten note on a napkin where the candy bar had been.
The note read: “Saw Kit Kat in your cup holder. I love Kit Kats so I checked your door and it was unlocked. Did not take anything other than the Kit Kat. I am sorry and hungry.”
The tweet went viral and it didn’t take long for Kit Kat representatives to take note of the free publicity they were getting from Jobbins’ misfortune.
Hershey sent 6,500 Kit Kats to Manhattan. The candy bars were stuffed into Jobbins’ Toyota Camry.
Jobbins shared the candy bars with other students on campus.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Darrell Lea chocolates. I remember when they used to be pretty boutique, now they're in supermarkets.

Cadbury's is overrated. Always was.
Cadbury eggs are disgusting! Best Easter eggs EVER were the Fannie Farmer dark chocolate
buttercream eggs. Deep dark chocolate shell, rich buttercream center, sweet decadence. :pinkbeat:
-
Icequeen, in Japan they bake KitKats. They taste REALLY GOOD baked. They go like a crispy biscuit/cookie. They even have "bakeable" KitKats over there, but really you can bake any of them. The bakeable ones just hold together slightly more.
I love Cadbury Creme Eggs, I can't eat them anymore cos they contain egg. :-\
How do you leave karma on here?

Avoid lindt, they are a dirty fucking pack of filthy breedtraitors; because they got in with AutismSqueaks and started massaging their fucking neurotypical arseholes, got an ad-campaign-shaped finger covered in propaganda-'chocolate' from tickling the collective prostates of AutSqueaks.
Chocolate derived from a chocolate starfish, that is.
Fucking breed-traitor scumsucking Theresa-Maysturbators and breed traitors ran a filthy fucking ad campaign and fundraiser for those cumguzzling pizdasvinya, I used to eat those lindt chocolate eggs with the bits of stuff like rice crispies inside, now I can't have them, because to buy them would be to put money in the wallets of those filthy breed-traitor autism bastard speaks pigfucking whoresons of brotherfuckers.
May the toxic little scrawny shrub that is AutSqueaks never grow into a tree, and instead, be slowly poisoned to death by the venom dripping from its own un-ripened toxic fruit, wither and die, for the withered twigs to be first urinated and shat upon by passing animals then collected and burnt for firewood. The monkeyfuckist cockmongrel monsterbators. Like the sickly, putrescent deliquesced diarrheoeal offal explosively defaecated forth by a sewer rat dying of ebola having it's parasite-riddled abdomen slowly crushed between the jaws of a large vice, first anally and orally voiding its intestinal contents of shite, then its ebola virus-liquified internal organs through its arsehole before finally, having its pus-filled carcass popped like a blood-engorged tick, full of blackened semidigested blood from a diseased host, whilst it is held down with a stick and subjected to a the flame from a cigarette lighter.
Fucking bunch of ambulant bipedal abscesses masquerading as human meat-sacks. And fuck that cunt that went to work for them who got struck off, the so-called scientist, forgot his name now jat got struck off from the UK only to slither off on it's slime-trail over to the US to beg for scraps of jizz from the collected feculent, foeted cheese-encrusted cockends of AutSqueaks.
What's that cunt's name again, the lying, science-perverting, science-slandering child-killing-by-proxy, son of a thousand crack whores who was involved in that awful vaccine scare? Can't remember the name of the pestilent babybutcher in question. May he be take strychnine until he ends up snapping his spinal column in order to suffocate upon his own penile malformation by force, rather than the usual choice made by said empire of demagogic masturbator-dom made flesh, piss for blood, bone and stagnant, seeping, pus-filled foetid cerebral abscess in lieu of a brain. And total bastard to boot.

I don't know if my tastes are changing or if the manufacturers are using different ingredients, but it seems more and more candy and soda companies are using artificial sweeteners. I find it unpalatable, tastes like plastic to me.
That said, I would punch a puppy right in the face for some of these Australian treats:

Nice to see you, ebm. We get Tim Tams in many different flavours here, even white chocolate. I had Pina Colada ones but I don't think they tasted very nice.

Do you eat them like the Aussies do? :orly: I looked them up to see what it is and found this. :lol1:

Now I want some Tim Tams. >:(
-
I've heard it called the Tim Tam Slam.

How is it even possible American's don't have a similar cookie so I can try this? There's nothing. >:(
-
I've done it with a Penguin, the English equivalent. It's just like dipping a biscuit really. It's better if the tea is hot, because sucking it up through the biscuit cools the tea right down.

You can try it with different chocolate covered biscuits or anything else porous inside like wafers. :)

I read Target carries Tim Tams in the US. :orly:

I played the closeup of her lips biting into the candy on 0.25x speed, over and over again. :zoinks:

I like the part where she crams the whole thing into her gob like a ravenous savage. :zoinks:

I am partial to pecan pie that only I can make. I learned from my mom.
Not to give it away too much, but the custard part includes twelve separated eggs, two cups of sugar and a stick and a half of butter. (OK, now you have it. Cook the custard VERY slowly, add vanilla at the end) Float the whole mess on a pre-scorched crust. It takes about an hour to bake at three hundred degrees.
Can not really dis' anyone else's efforts, but it also requires the particularly oily and richly flavored pecans that only grow in Texas dry lands to actually work out right.
Fabulous!

Stop crying, you big baby. Nobody cares about your first-world problems. :hahaha: :trollskull:

I hope I find Tim Tams at Target, because if I do I'm going to ask Sugarbutt if we can serve them for dessert when we have everyone over for Christmas Eve dinner, and we can have a big ole fam damily Aussie style Tim Tam Slam. :lol1:

My wife has spent the afternoon making candied pecans with some of the older one we have from early in the fall.
She plans to give most of them to her friends. :'(
Still plenty for us to enjoy for days and days.
WOW! Delicious.
(I should assume that most of you can not identify with using pecans so frivolously and expect that most are tired of hearing me talk about all the things we do with pecans around here, but you must understand, my mom ships us about twenty or thirty pounds or more of freshly shelled Texas grown pecans from their trees every year, I eat on them all year long in my own self created trail mixes. We make pecan butter. We make pies, We make cookies. We make sweet breads. We use them in Asian style cooking to replace almonds ... and on and on and on ... We are very fortunate to have a basically free source of the best pecans on the planet, because the damn things are very expensive if you have to buy them at a store around here, even five years old in packages.)
-
Pecans and cashew nuts are about the tastiest ones. Cashew nut butter goes all fudgy and DELICIOUS when just taken out the fridge. Pecan nut butter must be heavenly. I've made nut butter before, it's very easy. You just blitz them. :green:

Almond Rocha.

Almond Rocha.
Toffees are one of those thing that never come to mind, until they're there, and then it's complete wow.
-
I thought you meant these for a moment, as in Ferrero Rocher. They're crispy and have a melty white chocolate centre with an almond in the middle. They are so good.

Similar but not the same.

^ It's like a less viscous white chocolate spread in the middle, surrounded by a crispy wafer, then dipped in white chocolate and coated with coconut flakes.

I used to love toffee bars such as Heath and Skor. Can't eat them anymore because of my teeth. :tard:

I tried Tim Tams and IMO, Penguin biscuits are WAY tastier.

I finally got the chance to do a TimTam slam and was horribly disappointed. It never occurred to me that the result of a TimTam slam is a giant mouthfull of sweet goo. I had stomach problems when I was a kid, back in the days when people didn't really know much about things like lactose and grain intolerances. Around the age off five I had to eat baby food for about a year, and ever since then sweet goo makes me gag. :lol1: TimTams are pretty good on their own as a crispy cookie though, but I'm not much of a sweets person in general so I doubt I'll ever buy them again. :dunno:

I used to get snacks and goodies from a monthly box called Tokyo Crate... and the favorites I had sweet-wise was the different flavored Kit-Kats that were packaged into the box.

I heard that Starburst has discontinued their line of sweets. Someone on Facebook said they couldn't find them anywhere.

I make brittle sometimes and usually put pecans in it, instead of peanuts.
Super easy to make, just heat up some sugar with a little salt. Then add a bit of vanilla if you want. It has to get really scary hot and turn a little brown, then just pour it over your nuts on a flat sheet, carefully, and let it cool.
For something commercially available, I'll go with any dark chocolate.
Sometimes I buy a bag of dark, semi sweet chocolate chips intended for making cookies and just munch on them straight out of the bag.
My favorites are made by Ghirardelli.
I also melt down almond bark and make little balls, then roll them in crushed pecan powder. Pain in the ass, because I like more pecan flavor than almond bark. I have to make them small to get the balance just right.
My wife is the real confectioner, though. She makes fudge, divinity, truffles and something super rich and sweet, "loaded with toothaches" that she calls "chewy gooeys."
