Hi.
I registered last night (where I live, that is), and after lurking around a bit, have decided to introduce myself and give this forum a try.
I don't really know what to expect from this forum, or if I'll fit in. If I do, though, I'll generally show less restraint than on other forums. Perhaps I'll think of a good way to let off some steam, (of which I have plenty in storage, though I'll need to think of a way to properly express it before being able to do so in an intelligible and meaningful way) and perhaps spout some maniacal nonsense, as well as some of my bitter, cynical, misanthropic philosophy and highly rational, though more than a little unconventional, ideas.
As for my seemingly random username, it is one of my otherwise recognizeable (if you happen to know me, which you likely don't, as I stick to frequenting only a few communities of different kinds), though not yet widely used, usernames, encryped in a shoddy way. Having had to register before having throughoutly checked to see if I would likely fit this forum, I decided to do so to remain somewhat anonymous.
I have both AS and Tourette's, and apart from that, were anyone remotely normal to gain full insight into my thoughts and experiences, I am sure my mental health would be concidered more than a little questionable. (though I would hardly be concidered a threat to myself and others, as my behavior is exceptionally rational and quite nice, though I'm seen as an exceptionally weird nerd when I let more than a little of what lies below the surface show) Unless the person in question were to fully understand all of my reasoning, in which case s/he would probably suffer a near-instantaneous mental breakdown.

Hi Fyusfnlvzrr,
/me thinks the nick is catchy.
Welcome to the board! Everything you've heard is true.
-
Ey up Fyusfnlvzrr, welcome to Intensity². 8)
Nonsense is good, and we don't generally have rules here so holding back shouldn't be an issue. ;)
Feel free to lurk awhile, or dive in wherever you see someone spouting bollocks. Which is pretty much everywhere. ;D
-
Hi Fyusfnlvzrr - we like steam. Don't bother to make it intelligible and meaningful or you'll be like me and get people deciding you're a stuck-up elitist prig.
-
Not that I'm sure if that would hurt, but I think I'll still mix in some ranting of questionable sanity; it would be a shame to miss a good opportunity to do so.
-

I haven't noticed anyone saying that about you, but don't you think that by insinuating that most of us don't make 'intelligble and meaningful' posts you kind of are acting that way??
-
Sure. I'm acting that way. I never said I don't bring it on myself.
Actually this was another (apparently failed) attempt to do humor.

I think if you'd made that comment to an old member, rather than a newbie I'd have read it as a joke rather than a warning dig
-
Hi. I keep reading your name as fuzzylover, so that's what I'm calling you from now on. It sounds warm.
-

So do I now :)
I just realised I never said hi to Fyusfnlvzrr- so Hi and I hope you enjoy Intensity² :)
-

You will have to do better than that to decode it.;) Not particularly accurate a description, but I guess I'll endure it. :P
-
hello. we have already introduced each other to one another.
two things:
* i hope you are not too sensitive.
* i would like to call you:Â Â f-yu
-
* i hope you are not too sensitive.
In this regard, not particularly.
* i would like to call you: f-yu
Certainly much better than "fuzzylover", at least.;)
Though if I ever find you using it towards me as a substitute for what it would appear to be an abbreviation for, instead of merely to address me, I'll make sure to refer to you using a variety of far-fetched, ridiculous, crappy puns of your username as retribution.
-
mcfagger is a popular one. have that as a welcome gift. ;D
-
Thanks, but that one I already thought of; too obvious for someone with a sense of humor as punny as mine.
-

ok duncshit!
a gift for you, f-yu, from me.
-

Ooh. Do you like Piers Anthony? You don't have an Ask thread yet, I don't think, but I'm asking anyway.
-
Hello ;D
-
Ooh. Do you like Piers Anthony? You don't have an Ask thread yet, I don't think, but I'm asking anyway.
No idea.
-
Would you mind changing your nick to something that is easier to remember? So we don't have to insult you by spelling it wrong? :P
-
why? with the number of americans/people with dyslexia/idiots on here, he/she is unlikely to get it spelled correctly if it were "the".
welcome Vogon. or am i thinking of the entity arthur dent keeps killing?
/wanders off to check...
/wanders back...
oh yeah - Agrajag. no, you ain't him. it. her. they. whatever.
hello, anyway.
-
It seems I am here to stay, so I may just as well unencrypt my username, something that will make it quite a bit easier to remember. However, someone will have to do the work first, following these slightly obfuscated instructions:
1. Copy the name once.
2. Paste the copy somewhere.
3. Let it rot.
3. Repeat step three, 0xD times. Or do it all at once.
4. Copy the name again.
5. Below the decayed remains, paste it.
6. The answer is interleaved.
7. Were the bytes to be odd and the bytes to be even exchanged, let the answer rot until you get it right.
-
If you stay, YOU decode the nick. I don't care enough.
-
Neither do I. ;D
-
Welome to Intensity2 Fyusfnlvzrr.
-
Neither do I. ;D
Right. So, Fiuysaeyhv, do you have an official dx?
-
sigh... here we go... ::)
-
Neither do I. ;D
Right. So, Fiuysaeyhv, do you have an official dx?
Oh, very funny.  :P
[joke]Now the thread is over because of Godwin's Law of Aspie boards, Fyusfnlvzrr.[/joke]
-
;D You noticed, eh?
-
Over? Too bad; then it'll never be decoded.;)
-
Over? Too bad; then it'll never be decoded.;)
I looked at it for a minute and considered it.
When you say byte are you implying that each letter should be converted to its binary form? Oh, and by interleaved did you mean extras inserted or was it in the form of parity?
-
didn't you get your secret decoder ring when you joined the aspie eliteTM?
-
didn't you get your secret decoder ring when you joined the aspie eliteTM?
I am still nihil. I enjoy nothingness.
-
oh. i see. shhhhh.
lips are sealed then.
-

1. No, simply referring to one character. 2. Parity: they are to be taken alternatively from, according to the current character count.
-
Hi. I keep reading your name as fuzzylover, so that's what I'm calling you from now on. It sounds warm.
hey good idea. i'll do that too. it was gonna be cut and paste or random letters otherwise.
-
so, uhh... hi, fuzzylover. :P
-
I would have gotten that one too, but I'm not as familiar with fuzzylover, and besides, it was encoded in rot-26 too.
-
Alright, since it's evidently needed, I'll make it very, very simple:
1. Place each of two copies of my username on a separate line.
2. ROT-13 one of them.
3. Combine (interleave) the odd characters from one with the even characters of the other.
4. If you got the copies mixed up (not that I specified any order), ROT-13 the answer.
-
Can't we just settle on fuzzylover? It's kind of catchy.

huh? ???

Fuzzylover is a cool name, unless Fyusfnlvzrr prefers a different one.
-
i thought we settled on f-yu!
-
I'm calling him fuzzylover. Unless his real name after it is decoded is cuter and simpler than that.

what do you mean by odd and even characters?
-
characters 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. - odd.
characters 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. - even.
-
but uh, how can LETTERS be odd or even numbers?
-
If it is the measure of what number they are when ordered left to right alphabetically from A to Z
-
Hi FLUFFALIZER. Welcome to Intensity2.
-
If it is the measure of what number they are when ordered left to right alphabetically from A to Z
i tried that but still couldn't figure it out...looks like callaway did...
-
We will see if I was correct when Fluffalizer logs in.
I wrote FYUSFNLVZRR, and then exchanged the F for S, Y for L, U for H, N for A and so on.
FYUSFNLVZRR became SLHFSAYIMEE.
Then I took alternate letters from the two, starting with F from the first then L from the second then U from the first then F from the second and so on and got FLUFFALIZER.
-
+1 for the effort.
-
ditto.
-
I found my answer by writing a few things down on a piece of paper, getting frustrated, erasing the hell out of it and just writing down Fuzzylover.

Ah, hell...McJ can smite me. +1.
-
Damn, I thought of the same thing as soon as I read Nomaken's reply. What the hell... +1!
-
but uh, how can LETTERS be odd or even numbers?
I was referring to the position of the letters, ie. 1=the first letter in the username, 2=the second letter in the username, etc.
Hi FLUFFALIZER. Welcome to Intensity2.
By All That Is Fluffy, you got it right.
