I have to start my damn laundry now and I don't want to. Post here and bitch it you are doing laundry,
or if you need to do it but can't be arsed but you have to do it anyway because you are out of clean :underwear: !
-
Laundry is one of the few cleaning tasks that I don't mind doing. I mean, a machine does all the work :dunno:
It's so much less annoying than doing dishes, or dusting or hoovering.
-
The washer is possessed, the dryer shrinks shirts, the iron is an asshole and keeps shutting off...but I really like folding stuff.
-
Damn it for reminding me.

Fold :dunno:
People fold their laundry?
I just hang it over the clothes line :-[

I wouldn't mind if the laundry room weren't two stories below me, necessitating schlepping. :P

I like folding, too, because by then, I know I'm in the homestretch. 8)

Pretty slick, but they had the T-shirts on the floor! :GA:

*wobbles in :cbc: to help with the Royal Wash!* :laundry:

I hardly like any of the clothes I currently own, which makes me begrudge them the time it takes
to launder them. I think I need to ditch the shabby hand-me-downs and go shopping! Yay! :cheer:
-
I would love to take you shopping weeble, especially a the height of yard sale season here. We would have a blast.
I am at the thrift store about every Friday sorting through the jewelry when there are no yard sales.
I renew half of our wardrobes just about every year...and make enough money flipping certain things to pay for it x 10.
-
I have no real objection to the actual doing laundry process... it's just the 5 mile drive to the nearest laundrette to do it that I'm sick of...
-
Huh? Doesn't anybody else find that their laundry fights back when they try to fold it?
I'd call that the worst part, if not for the ironing. I completely gave up on ironing long ago.

That would be fun! :) We do have Savers here, and Wal-mart of course. Maybe my sister and I
will go to Savers. A cheap wardrobe works for me, especially since I have weight to lose! :sumo:

I sympathize, I used to have to schlep my laundry down the street on foot to the laundromat! :laundry:

Folding is indeed a pain, especially heavy twill pants when the legs won't line up straight.
I haven't ironed anything since 1990! I just grab the stuff out of the dryer and hang it up fast! :2thumbsup:
-
I don't iron. I have a good iron and an ironing board but nowhere in the house to set it all up. Really could do with a spare room!
-
I would love to see pictures of the Icequeen and the Weeble going shopping together.
Bring extra panties, in case of too much laughter.
-
Fucking washer. :roar:
First Maytag I've ever owned...won't be buying another.
I'm going to tear it apart, build a fire in the drum have a glass of wine and roast marshmallows over this SOB when it dies.

I did two loads of washing today. It is all out on the line.I am just hoping it doesn't rain early in the morning, forecast is for late rain but you just never know.

Laundry dried in the fresh air smells wonderful. I hope yours dries OK. :)

^It did dry fine. It was sprinkling when I brought it in. But it still hasn't actually rained. Forecast was for showers increasing, heh.

It's laundry day today. :laundry:

The damn laundry is done, for now. But I dislike ALL my clothes and ALL my bedding! >:(
-
Can you shop for new bedding? I like doing that. When winter is here, I will buy a new quilt.

Yeah, I can, but I hate to shop. Also, I'm too fat for my clothes. :P

Bath mat keeps knocking the dryer open :thumbdn:

2 strips of duct tape across the front of it. :M

We're cleaning mats today. Puppy's peed all over them.

I have to do my fucking laundry now. I hate all my clothes, but they're all I have.

Did 5 loads of clothes for each of us yesterday. Will do 5 more tomorrow, hopefully.

Still the Victorian way, by hand?

Boy, did I make a mess of that post. I went to my g'friend's house and did sets of clothes for each of us. The laundry is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tooooooooooooooo far out of control to catch up by hand now. I will wash out some filthy underwear by hand and bring it to my friends house soon for a proper wash by machine.
Depression and indecision are a powerfully life sucking pair.

Indecision on what washingmachine to buy?
If so, beating indecision may be easier than beating depression. Cheap one with a few months warranty at a goodwill store an option?

I just use Which? magazine. And I look at good and bad reviews from several sites. I usually do lots of research. I also look at sizing, and in this case it would be load capacity too on the washing machine. I would research the options it has on the dial/buttons.
Like for instance, it's annoying on my washing machine that rinse on its own only does 1200 speed, rather than the 1400 it's capable of at the end of a cycle. So I would have to put it through another washing programme in order to dry it more, it seems a bit stupid to me. I always use an extra rinse so I can't make full use of its 1400 speed.
Also, FTR, Bosch is an excellent make, even though it's pricey. So is Miele, but that's very expensive.
-
Doing that damn laundry last night left me very tired, but it was worth it! :2thumbsup:

No, some $$$ problems are keeping me from deciding where to get $ and what to fix first: car, washing machine, bills, etc. Just the usual day-to-day stuff since Parliament hasn't given me a raise in over 115 years.

About 30 years ago, with plans to marry with a student income, and after having done laundry by hand for a few years I told my boyfriend that a washing machine was the first thing we'd buy. After that we'd invest in a better bed. He agreed, first not thinking much of a washing machine. But he was really happy when it arrived.

I should do my laundry this Thursday as rain is forecast for Friday and the weekend.
-
Mine is almost done. Thinking about doing a second batch or not. Drying conditions are perfect.
-
I have too much linen piling up to wash. Where did all my flat sheets go? I have like 5 fitted sheets on the clothes line but no flat sheets.
I have to take a big mink blanket to the laudromat on the weekend because it won't fit in my pitiful 5kg washer.

You could cross-post this to the thread for "developed country problems." :P
-
It's not real mink or anything, I can't remember paying more than $80 or so for it

A) Years ago I had a champagne blond mink coat. My siamese cat, Bonsei, LOVED to sleep on it. Pretty pricey bed.
B) Soaked 4 items in Oxi-clean last night trying to get some mildew out. Might have worked. Washed and hung 2 of them before I took The PR to therapy, the last 2 are still soaking in the laundry bucket. Need to get them finished and hung to dry.
-
Couldn't do washing on the weekend as it rained. So it is piling up to be done on Thursday when it's supposed to be sunny.
-
I got my damn laundry done last night, so glad I did. Tonight I can relax. :nicegear:
