Title: Re-incarnation
Post by: Mr Smith on April 10, 2008, 05:34:57 AM
Who believes in this?

Do you think maybe what happened to you in a past life might have an effect on your nature and attitude in this life? I have re-occuring dreams that have no basis on truth whatsoever - One of them includes My father (Or someone in the dream that represents my father in this life) being really horrible to me and sometimes killing me.

I've always had a very difficult relationship with my father because when I was little I left him out in the cold and it really upset him. It is improving with time It makes me wonder why that had to be that way. ... it's weird.

i don't, but i kind of wish i did
it's cool to think about anyway
if i was, i'd want to meet my friend again, reincarnated IRL
i read that somewhere... other people who believed in reincarnation... saying that people get reincarnated again and again, each time meeting the same person, the person they were married to in a previous life and stuff

i think we get to decide it in the between life. :P where we go and shed the persona we had and get a new suit and we plan who we will meet. so hopefully you'll meet her again. :) i'm sure she would want to as well.

Dirt nap.   As in no afterlife for anyone, regardless of how you live your life.   The immortal soul is a delusion made by humanity to bolster its self importance.

I don't see how reincarnation is any less of a bullshit conception than heaven and hell
Title: Re: Re-incarnation
Post by: SovaNu on April 11, 2008, 07:50:04 AM
it makes more sense. it's only logical. heaven and hell as separate, permanent actual places are not logical. heaven and hell are in moments that happen in the universe, our experiences.

Reincarnation makes more sense to me than heaven and hell.  Earth seems like hell for me a lot of the time, and I think heaven might get boring because it would be too nice and predictable.  I think I'm probably going to come back here again.  :-\

I hate the idea of dying and then coming back and start all over again!   ::)  As for life after death, the one before death is doing it's best to kill me!   ::)

A least with heaven and hell we have to find out whether or not it exists.  If reincarnation is true, why don't you remember your past lives?

The body decomposes very quickly after death. There isn't any proof whatsoever for a "soul", nor reincarnation of any kind. How's that logical?
Title: Re: Re-incarnation
Post by: SovaNu on April 11, 2008, 05:11:43 PM
you don't need physical proof, logic is the proof and an inner knowing. but if you wanna believe otherwise go ahead.

we don't remember our past lives cuz then we'd be the same as ever and we'd get exhausted. we are new people each time and as new we are different and as new we are again full of pep. :zoinks: i'm sooo sick of this life already and i'm 25, not that i feel ready to die but i am getting exhausted.

In my opinion Heaven and hell don't exist.

Hell moreso, its a stupid idea and I can't bring myself to believe it. In my opinion, when the spirit leaves its shell, it's no longer caught up in human conditional morals and standards, superficiality and pettiness.

So hell and heaven come across as an absolute joke to me.

Quote

It's for your soul to learn. Deep inside you, the memories are still there. (Of course I have no proof, it's just what I believe)

As for no proof nothing exists, I know for a fact you're wrong. I talk very openly about this stuff with Mum, and she's told me what she's seen.

you don't need physical proof, logic is the proof and an inner knowing.

Is this 'inner knowing' something along the lines of "I really really want it to be true, so I'm gonna convince myself that it is and make myself feel better about my shitty life"?  Sadly, reality doesn't give a shit for what you think about it.

I believe in re-incarnation. I believe that birth marks are wounds from where you died in a past life.

What if you don't have any birthmarks?  Does that mean that it's the first go round for you?

Or the birthmarks are stab wounds or bullet holes, but you died in a non-violent way
I don't think I have any. just scars from falling over when I was young and stuff
I have a wonkey index finger though, which is sort of bent

I made a thread on wp once, after talking about Stalin or something, asking who people were in their past lives, and explaining that I was Lenin.
It was meant to be a joke, but some people thought I was being serious
(it probably wasn't funny to anyone who didn't understand why I picked Lenin, but I thought it would at least be obvious I was joking  )

I believe in re-incarnation. I believe that birth marks are wounds from where you died in a past life.

Do you have any particular reason for believing that, or is it just something you made up?
