I'd call it being out of patience. I can see things the way they actually are, outside of the bubble of ignorance caused by tv, church, social justice pow wows, etc. I know that we are destroying our planet and throwing away our own humanity. I can see that large amounts of people starve while a third of the world's produced foodstuffs is wasted. I can see the mass murder going on even in modern times in the middle east, mostly caused my my own country and their chained dog(al queada). I can see this and so much more, and to be quite honest i'm fucking tired of this disrespect for my eyes. I'm tired of living in a world full of goddamned sociopaths and murderers and i'm doing everything I can to put an end to it.

Dude you know this isn't just an American problem. Its a human problem.
*sits down in the humorous meme-thread to debate politics, ethics, and human behavioral patterns*
It is a human problem - but it is a perpetual problem. You are of the warrior class of humans - you often make that very clear, and yes - there are personality classes, my aspie irl friend here is the same, very ready! He knows how to use a gun, he LOVED the mandatory army, he hunts deer, and downs them with a clean chest-shot, and he knows old ww2 traitor farms - by memory.
You, the warrior class, must fight with the weapons, where the nerd-class, wife-class, etc-classes go fleeing, screaming and crying into hiding. That's how war works!
So... to the politics - this doesn't happen "in cycles" or "again and again", but it happens in a predictable pattern, where those who have the personality for charisma, gain and power + the luck to get it - the callousness to decieve enough to get it - will ultimately hoard it. That's how monarchies exist, and governments, and all that stuff. In a tiny tribal society, the elder would walk sternly over to the charismatic charlatan and put him in his place. But since the rise of stationary societies, regulated by rules and organizations, the charlatan became vital in order to control the ammount of people. Money, power, charlatanism, authority, together, as an algorithm. Add migrations, time expanse, population booms, even weather patterns! Where there's drought, people move, force into other territories, clash, blend, powers fall, others rise, chaos is good for change.
It goes on, in shifting directions, it blows up a lil there, floods a little here, a little genocide or two, our growth in numbers grow exponentially, like mold do, like math do, just "fuck it, here you go humans times humans infinitely, yay cosmic shit!"
we might end up being a hundred billion billion people, just floating on each others, and still worry about overpopulation, greedy capitalists, whiny socialists
and
a HUNDRED
BILLION
warriors' skeletons faaar underneath.
We salute you!
Really
me and my pal left cigs by a mass grave of old Yugoslav soldiers we found by chance in the middle of the forest, next to a humble stone monument, so far from their homes.
I'm so wasted right now...
-
I agree with some of what you said, but I think everyone can be the "warrior". I also lolled at the "charlatanism" term. I disagree that charlatanism is, or ever was necessary. I think on the whole we've been tricked into thinking that.
-

It isn't necesary, it never was, but it goes back to strange accidents.
Human stationary existence was strongly bound in religion (in the making of alcohol from grain)
It is actually lately argued that grain for food was almost an accidental side effect, from what was mainly about intoxication. Remember, this is ancient humanity, who has gone worshipping the turn of the year, along with birds, elephants, ostriches, monkeys, hippos, for the sweet sweet magic of fermented fruit.
Fast forward.
Humanity can now drink magic on a regular basis, and it is very very bad for a stationary society, to be in contact w gods and stuff - all the time. It is often the butt of jokes, but truer than most people think, early rules and commandments - bound by association to the magical entoxication, rules of life - do not drink all the time.
And by the way, do not beat up, do not this, do not that.
Then try to convince 1000 people to no longer chat directly with God the Creator of All Things on a daily basis - or even ever.
"Okay, maybe once a week?"
A little super-summarized prehistory, take it with a grain of salt, but by "necesary" I mean according to what the agenda is. In the same way war in the middle east is necesary - to someone. :D
And no, everyone can't be a warrior. They can defend themselves, yes, and everyone can be vicious. But being a warrior takes a certain kind of spirit, and you can tell by many mandatory and drafter armies that most of them are not warriors "at heart" and likewisely tell who are. Imho, it is observable :D

I see that as historically valuable. That's how people talked back then, whether the progressives want to admit it or not. Yeah people should really calm down with the "I hate god" shit. I am an atheist, myself. I consider the bible to be mostly a funny book to read, but I don't hate Christians. I don't want to destroy their religion and remove it from society. So what if it did? It doesn't. It says God. It doesn't say the Christian god of The Holy Bible, but everyone knows that's what it means, and it's still applicable today. Personally not bothered by it, and couldn't care either way. It's not my decision nor want it to be. I'll say the Pledge of Allegiance however I like.

I don't like it. When I pledge allegiance to America, I'm not pledging adherence to any religion. Also:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

No it isn't.
originally composed by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and formally adopted by Congress as the pledge in 1942
1892 was a pretty long time ago, man. In 42, my dad wasn't even born yet.

I think our history is fine the way it is, and we shouldn't be changing the parts we don't approve of. Try and remember, having negative feelings towards a god or belief in one implies belief on part of the one feeling negative about it.

From what I've heard, "under God" was originally a quote from Abraham Lincoln that served the political purpose of distinguishing Americans from atheist Commies during the Cold War.

Something as huge as changing the pledge should be left to the public vote; at the moment, doubting the pledge would change. It's not a law; no one is forced to say it.

I see no reason to enshrine it, either, especially when it conflicts with the Constitution.
Something as huge as changing the pledge should be left to the public vote; at the moment, doubting the pledge would change. It's not a law; no one is forced to say it.
It was instituted by Congress. People vary it when they say it, and have done so historically.

Swedish doesn't sound like "bork bork". It's English that is a foul language. Read what the Swedish bishop Tegnér wrote about some languages 200 years ago :M
SPRÅKEN
Grekiskan.
Halva Europa. Därpå känner man romarn igen.
Italienskan.
Nöjets och trånadens språk, du är blott en stämma ur flöjten,
Hela ditt väsen är sång, varje ditt ord en sonnett.
Älskade duva, bliv kvar och kuttra om längtan och njutning:
Skada ändå, i ditt land sjunga kastraterna bäst.
Spanskan.
Skön skall du vara och stolt. Jag känner dig icke, men mången,
Vilken ej känner dig mer, prisar dig högt i vår Nord.
Franskan.
Allt i ditt fädernesland med ångmaskiner bedrives;

It's a vow. Should people make vows that they don't sincerely believe? Furthermore, should the United States government be tacitly encouraging people to take vows that affirm the existence of any deity? The oath of office spelled out in the Constitution makes no reference to God.

All men are created equal, and deserve liberty and safety, even those who disagree with Ben Franklin.

However, there are consequences for your actions. People are indeed born with natural rights, but if their parents believe it to be morally sound to consciously play the part of the victim leading their lives in a way as to make themselves completely vulnerable to any criminal(common or political), then they pretty much deserve what happens to them. When you walk up to a predator unarmed, vulnerable bits completely exposed, what do you think is going to happen?

Its all so.. hysterical. >:( Yeah lets give up guns and privacy and all political clout and allow our constitution(laws that keep the government under our control) to be modified all to twist the balance of power against the citize- I mean for our own security. Yeah lets just all get on our knees an open our mouths, calling it unification and cultural evolution. What a bunch of geniuses.

Yeah. Seriously this whole direction society is moving in? I don't know what else to call it but Darwinism. A bunch of fucking retards being bamboozled by the 0.01%. They fucking deserve it I guess, because when you try to help people understand whats happening to them, they get angry. They call you a conspiracy theorist or a rabble rouser. They think you're furthering some sort of political agenda, ironically on part of the rich or priveliged.
Its just completely retarded. Maybe all these idiots just deserve what they wind up with. Fucking faggots. At times it makes me so mad i'm almost glad they'll have to make due with less in the future, possibly witness an event like the holocaust in their lifetime. I can honestly say they're asking for it. There is no denying that.
However, I always wind up thinking of the children. They didn't make any of these decisions, and it isn't their fault. There are also people who actually do see the fallacy of this cultural "evolution", and the similarity of the many cycles of fascism one can find in our history. So I always conclude that these people don't deserve to suffer just because the majority are stupid fucking assholes. And I continue my fight.

Realize that Americans rejected most of what the UK was in the eighteenth century.
I know it took us three tries, but we finally got there, mostly, after killing thousands of them.
Honestly, HAD WE BEEN BETTER AMERICANS (following the letter of our own constitution), from the beginning, slavery would have ended with the Revolutionary War. But, getting those limey bastards out of our government took us another eighty years and a civil war which should have been fought upon its own merits, State or Union rule, instead of being corrupted by a brit agenda, YET still alive on this continent.
I still see people all googoo-eyed over a brit accent, though. WTF is that about?
I hear a brit accent accent and I immediately think: arrogant, self serving, over-bearing, slave-mongering, weak-legged, tyrant-loving, meek sheep-like people who are only good at sucking up to some insane idea of what "royalty" might be and making beer and radical music.
While I continue to love rich beer and hard music, I think those faggot brits should have all stayed home over the centuries and shagged their own ugly fucking brit women and left the rest of the worlds women alone, instead of making slaves of them, over centuries of empire-building.

Funny, but Charlie Brown's Black Ops "assault crew" are all too young to actually own assault rifles. At their age they are restricted to rimfire, .22 cal types of rifles.
:green:
I just set aside the humor, eh?
It is true, Twelve or fourteen year olds can buy rimfire rounds of ammunition (not rifles, though) in most states in this country.
One issue remains, however. Rimfire ammo is relatively difficult to come by, because of the expanded demand. If I did not already have about twenty thousand rounds stored, I would be a part of the country-wide panic, regarding the difficulty in acquiring .22 ammo.

I love the school bus. ;D

Me too, but I am a bit concerned about the massive machine guns atop the bus. Hopefully, the bus driver issues hearing protection and safety glasses as the children board the bus.

Here's an updated figure from the CDC:
Cigarette smoking causes about one of every five deaths in the United States each year. Cigarette smoking is estimated to cause the following:
- More than 440,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
- 49,400 deaths per year from secondhand smoke exposure
- 269,655 deaths annually among men (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
- 173,940 deaths annually among women (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
- Life expectancy for smokers is at least 10 years shorter than for nonsmokers.
- Quitting smoking before the age of 40 reduces the risk of dying from smoking-related disease by about 90%.

Wow.
Are you suggesting that a similar property exists with the very notion of "gun ownership?"
I would suggest that the property is reflexive. Random public (in general) has shown to be focused on the fact that people are shot by guns, but in reality, the number of those shot by guns are most likely to be those who do not carry "guns" who a summarily shot by random people carrying guns.
NOT Carrying a gun for your own protection makes your chances of being shot similar to fifty/fifty. But carrying your own gun, assuming you know hot to use it, reduces your chances of being shot by a significant amount. We must assume that one tends to use a gun ONLY for self preservation, to keep the equations similar.
I only keep my own pistol, strapped to my body, for self defense, I assure you. ... and ... In all my long years, I have only had to use it twice.
IN direct response to your argument: Everybody dies.

The highest number murdered comes from the state's gun ownership. The Soviet Union had like 20 millions murdered - by the state, not by private citizens.

Yeah. I'm trying.
Another comfort is patriotism - as in - the patriotism of the army.
You see this in a lot of civil wars, where the army begins to tear between loyalty to the gvt vs loyalty to the people. As large chunks begin to rip off (taking with them lots of machinery and territory, bases etc), the gvt army will likewisely shrink, and the blocks even out.
There are no guarantees of course, but there is a certain dynamic to that.
This effect was in fact hoped for in Burma, but they managed to balance it, and crack it down before the soldiers were made to do much more damage. The more damage the soldiers are made to inflict onto their own community, the less loyal will they be to those forcing them to do this.
During the Tiananmen Square riots in China, they circumvented this by sending soldiers from far away countrysides into Beijing, to face the student rebels.
A surviving soldier explained that they were pretty confused about what was going on, and not updated, being illiterate and whatnot. As they came into the capital, in collumns of trucks, they were greeted by furious civilians, cursing at them, calling them lackeys, spitting, and they quickly understood that there was something there that wasn't quite right :D

Tyranny is when someone violates a country's constitution, for instance.
"Democracy" is just an empty word. There are no countries in the modern world where the people has the real power. Or maybe there is one or two, but the US is actually not among them.

Empty word, indeed, when put to a test of law, but, as we all know laws are not "universal" and should never be impressed upon the masses
... but we all must keep trying to make our hearts work in the way of freedom, random choice, free will and not to mention the need to be ones own self ... as we all learn ways to improve ourselves.
Assign for an instant more than simple legal meanings to such words which make one demand choices. Keep ones own simple human freedom at heart for a moment ...
Elsewise, all that is left is tyranny and or anarchy. Neither of which allow me to continue to keep a decent garden to fulfill our families needs!!.
In fact, I want to help my neighbors to grow good gardens!! Not so much so that they leave mine alone, but that they also have enough to share with random needy strangers who pose no threat and have a need of sustenance.
A dream of fellowship can be far more reaching than THE LEGAL DEFINITION of any number of simple words!! There is no legal definition for what I AM PRESUMING UPON THE REACHES OF HUMANITY.
... on a related note ... I have shared my enormous garden bounty with five families this season. Try to beat that with words!!
-
How much infringements do you have to have on things before you call it a tyranny? You have less freedom than in Europe except what guns concerns (in a few states and cities you actually have harsher gunlaws than in most of Europe!) and you don't use those guns to what they were once intended for.
I'm actually pretty sure that Franklin and Jefferson would have called someone like Obama a tyrant.

The constitution was not actually designed to be impressed on the masses, but government. Those are laws written for our leaders to have to follow. Our protection from the tyranny Lit speaks of. When this protection is being eviscerated, what do you think is going to follow?
Have you been following the actions of the last couple of presidents? Do you know how many times they have amended the constitution to suit the purposes of their administrations, and the needs of corporate interests? A TON. It doesn't feel very good to admit that we've let, and keep letting this happen, I know. Shouldn't the future be more important than how we feel right now though?

Obama is our first BLACK president. Most of us are allowing him some latitude. His doctrine in history will be laid to question, but not so much as our allowing him a full rope with which to hang himself. Our tolerance MIGHT be ignored as history "remakes itself." However, I think all of us will bear a burden due to his way of executing the duties of his office.
Obviously, you missed my earlier point.
Union begins at your next door neighbor's house. Our Union of Great States is stronger because of the "unity" we all share with our neighbors.
The Plurality of our populace defines the best of all that there are on this globe - freedom seekers, all of us. Every single one of us came from a place that was LESS FREE!! Seeking is the first battle!! It is not yet accomplished, but it is the continued attempt to attain all those freedoms we assume "to be self evident" that continues to set us apart from all you who are willing to give in to various forms of tyranny.
IF you are talking about how difficult it is to fly or travel in this nation, you must realize, it is NOT any of US that we are being wary of; it is those of you who would not respect or even dismiss our freedom so frivolently as to make yourselves a threat to what we believe.
Trust me, I do know that my kind (gun owners, like small government, low taxes, prefer personal freedoms) only hold a small advantage in numbers. I am looking forward to the day when we have identified all those NON-AMERICANS within our borders and sent them all to Gitmo.
Other than that, fuck all your pretentious bullshit!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

There's a difference between intellectual and emotional honesty. Thinking most believers call it faith for a reason, and can't see how any type of faith, religious or otherwise, could be used to measure intellect.

However, I think all of us will bear a burden due to his way of executing the duties of his office.
Actually I think all this tolerance Obama is being shown is racism. If he wasn't a black man, nobody would ever put up with the blatant overreaching of power he repeatedly commits.
Don't bother. DirtDawg wants to live in denial.

Just the fact that someone seriously mentions God shows that he is by no means an intellectual equal.
Why? There are plenty of intellectuals who believe in God.
An intellectual equal to whom, by the way?
In my humble opinion you are not an intellectual if you believe in God, because a person who believes in something without reason has a flawed intellect.
An intellectual equal to me, of course. But of course he never was. He doesn't think for himself but sounds pretty much like a parody of a stupid Republican.
-
Of course IQ isn't everything. I know several persons who have a higher IQ than I have but are unable to grasp many things. I have notcied that the "nerd personality" is often unable to understand philosophy and politics and is also surprisingly narrow-minded and lacks imagination of their own.
But when you just puke up exactly the propaganda that the powers that be want you to puke up, you are simply outright stupid. What I posted earlier is the unpleasant but simple truth:
How much infringements do you have to have on things before you call it a tyranny? You have less freedom than in Europe except what guns concerns (in a few states and cities you actually have harsher gunlaws than in most of Europe!) and you don't use those guns to what they were once intended for.
I'm actually pretty sure that Franklin and Jefferson would have called someone like Obama a tyrant.
-
If the US government demands all guns to be registered, DirtDawg will probably obey. What will he do if guns are banned? I don't think it will happen within decades, but you can never know.
In Greece the gunlaw is pretty harsh. Yet in Crete there are like ten times more illegal guns than legal ones. Those Cretans are freedom-lovers for real, because they do what they know is morally right, which has nothing to do with laws written on paper. In America most people have legal guns and shout about freedom at the same time that they let the government screw them over more and more for each day.

Besides, this thread is not called "America, fuck no!" ;)

No, but I would never believe in something as stupid as God just because I felt the urge to have some kind of superior authority or because I couldn't believe in the scientific theories about universe. Believing in God or Allah or whatever is to put stupidity in system.
Lit: Do you ever elect police officers in Sweden? We elect sheriffs in America.
No, we don't, but the whole system with having a police is wrong. The whole system of having a state is wrong. It's actually almost as wrong as believing in God. The sickest thing is that people don't understand that things like genocide, slavery etc. are just possible because states exist but claim that it would be worse in an anarchy. In an anarchy no one would have the tools for genocide, slavery etc, because you need a hierarchy and a monopoly on violence to oppress people to start with.
In America you believe or pretend to believe that you are some kind of revolutionaries, but someone supporting a government is never a revolutionary.
It's ridiculously obvious. You have 1000 persons. You give each of them an identical gun. Who would be able to oppress someone else? No one. That's how an anarchy works. In the state you take away the guns or "allow" private citizens to own pistols and semi-automatic rifles. The state owns machine guns, cannons, tanks, missiles, atom bombs!. Still people are unable or unwilling to see this, because it's a very unpleasant fact.
Besides, this thread is not called "America, fuck no!" ;)
Whatever.

So, in an anarchy, it would NEVER occur to anyone to ambush his neighbors, rob them of their guns, and acquire power over them?
I don't see how anarchy can change human nature. Everyone might start out equally armed and evenly matched on Day One
of this new society, but I guarantee, human nature being what it is, there would still be dominant personalities
who would eventually assert themselves and rise to power. How would you prevent this from happening? :dunno:
-

Of course it would. But then he would eventually be shot by someone, because without a monopoly on violence you don't have superior firepower to start with and can thus easily be defeated before you have acquired it.

You must learn people not to accept authority. Oppression was possible to start with only because those opposing being dominated by some psychopath were in a minority. If everyone had had the mentality of Spartacus or John Brown or Lysander Spooner there would never have existed oppression to start with, because the oppressors in spe would have been - rightfully! - killed before acquiring any dominance.

Actually I think all this tolerance Obama is being shown is racism. If he wasn't a black man, nobody would ever put up with the blatant overreaching of power he repeatedly commits.
YES!
If he was white he would SO be in fucking prison - just like George Bush jr, Bill Clinton, George Bush sr, and all the other white guys who came before, bombed the shit out of countries, used false-flags, and/or went as a global symbol for gvt corruption, such as Nixon!
But just cus Obama is BLACK... he totally avoids prison. UNFAIR! Typical America, prisons FILLED with white, corporate people.

Bush DOES belong in prison, and he can't even leave the country anymore because tons of other countries call him a war criminal and have sworn to bring him to justice. Obama was recently called a war criminal in Ireland, but here in America any negative criticism of him is treated like a crime.

Politics is divided, you can't expect everyone to agree with you - ever. Politics will always be a polaric business, nobody will agree. You have a huge portion of Americans who DO want to see Obama punished.
But you know... welcome to the rest of the world! :D
I mean, Pol Pot slaughter a million of his own people, and introduced death penalty for wearing glasses (true story), and he got to die peacefully in his sleep, in "house arrest", in other words, weed and dvds untill he died.
Politics is ugly business, and those people get away with the shit they do - as a norm. A politician answering for his deeds is the exception to the rule.
/cynicism :D
By the way, I must admit a clerical error I did the other day, the percentage of natural warriors is closer to 2,5% not 0,25%.
This roughly translates to about 8 million American "warrior types". Statistically, at least half of these should allready be in some kind of soldier/police/guard employment ;]
The same percentage for Norway translates to a little over 100 000 warriors, which seems logical according to our population, and the figures seen during WW2, for how many resistance fighters we had etc.
-
That would be almost 250000 "warriors" in Sweden, 10 times more than the cops - although many "warriors" are probably just that.
The French resistance movement was the greatest in western Europe during WWII, though only about 1% of the French people took part in it.
-
The Germans defeated the Romans in the battle in the Teutoburg Forest in year 9. They couldn't accept obeying Roman laws and being forced to give up their weapons.
Arminius was their temporary leader, because he had had military education in Rome as a boy and young man. But when he tried to be the permanent leader over all Germans after the defeat of the Romans, his men turned against him and killed him. That's the spirit.
The Battle Against Rome - PART 1/2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpOAcaIDuNo#ws)

Yes, this simply illustrates observable reality: the vast majority of people are not warriors - and in a peacetime society, the "warriors" are usually working as soldiers, cops, security guards, mobsters, hitmen, football hooligans, etc :D
It's a simplification of course, but this percentage will be roughly the same in most war-torn areas.
People are naturally drawn to their occupations, for the most part.
You will very rarely find a cop who doesn't want to be a cop, but who's a cop just cus it was the only available job, or because he was drafted to become a cop.
People are naturally attracted to that job, and will naturally fill the quotas. Out of the Norwegian population, about 10 000 people are cops. The percentage also fits Sweden, which has about twice the population.

I was really trying to illustrate the general attitude here in America about racism. There is a MASSIVE double standard right now.

Racism, and other forms of bigotry is unfortunate, because its nature is so complex, and fundamentally ingrained in people.
It is a matter almost impossible to make policy, without these policies coming to life on their own, and thus getting their own agendas (prompting hypocritical behaviours, double standards, emotional exploitation etc), while at the same time being too dire to ignore - because as a rule - bigotry means blaming and punishing innocent people (as in, punishing some random black dude, because all blacks are to be punished, or some random gay dude, cus all gays are to be punished, etc)
Bigotry is too dangerous to allow to flourish - it is _extremely_ volatile, probably one of the most easily ignited causes of mass-murder ever known to mankind, us-vs-them, even in total peacetime you can rally people to become bigots - as we see even IN peace time, bigots hide away untill they're welcome.
I know, dude, I'm of very little help here :D
I can see all the problems that come from excessive political correctness, backlashes etc, and of course the horrible result of allowing bigotry to go unchecked.
The solution? For people not to be dicks. A non-dick isn't gonna care who is gay or black, and will judge a person by his or her merits, and nothing else.
Unfortunately, most people are dicks, and will take the extreme road "ALL NIGGERS MUST DIE!" "A NIGGER MUST NEVER DIE! NO! WAKE HIM BACK UP!!!"
only a minor minority going "Eh, his name is Ronald, and he is just taking a nap."

Exactly. Obama may be black, but he's a fuckface. I'd like for people to start looking at his work more objectively.

Speaking of freedom: outright slavery was abolished in Sweden proper in 1335. When was slavery abolished in the USA? Oh, in 1865, just 530 years later.
You forget we were still fighting British influence and we are still today!!
As a set of British colonies, trying to become free from a king it may have took us two hundred years to even come close, but we are still trying.

However, being a devout NON-racist, myself, I wonder how far the left can be allowed to carry this game. Some of us are beginning to wonder.
You DID read and understand the "far reaching" explanation I presented. How many people do you know who are twenty or more years past voting age? I am looking at a small cross section of those who I personally know. I am not pretending to know what the entire country expects from our President.
The Office of the Presidency MUST be respected, regardless of whether or not one agrees with the sitting President.
Do recognize that in just one more vote, we voters can overthrow the entire government. Obama can no longer serve, and fifty to seventy per cent of sitting Congressional offices CAN be replaced.
It is all up to us to decide.
God Bless the USA!!

What about the other side?!!!
Are you seriously going to ignore most of the world to promote your anarchist ideals?

What the hell does "British influence" have to do with slavery in America?
You have to be kidding!! Remember, all British colonies were slave colonies.
As a set of distributive colonies, WE, NOW FREE STATES, had to fight two wars to remove the British army from our shores.
It took another seventy something years AND a CIVIL War to set our Constitution to reflect our continued resolve and complete the effort.
Once we had met this goal, no longer will the English have providence over this land, WE WISH!! Still we fight against what should have been done with once our Declaration was presented to the King.
There should NEVER have been need of a Thirteenth Amendment to our Constitution since all the proper wording was set down from the start!!
... and finally in the twenty second century, we, as a nation of plurality, accepting all who enter seeking freedom, WE are still trying to beat down racism LEFT OVER from the influence of former British rule!!
... get it?
Sorry, it was actually the Thirteenth Amendment. I get them confused in order sometimes, BUT NEVER get the meanings wrong.
We should NEVER have needed to have a constitutional amendment abolishing slavery, except for the horrid leftovers of British rule, which allowed such as a matter of course.

In the state you take away the guns or "allow" private citizens to own pistols and semi-automatic rifles. The state owns machine guns, cannons, tanks, missiles, atom bombs!. Still people are unable or unwilling to see this, because it's a very unpleasant fact.
Besides, this thread is not called "America, fuck no!" ;)
Whatever.
You've actually listed a number of your beliefs, above. You don't have any proof, yet here they are, stated as facts. You do this a lot.

In my humble opinion you are not an intellectual if you believe in God, because a person who believes in something without reason has a flawed intellect.
Didn't really mean to prompt you to change your statement to an emotionally honest one, but that was awesome, Lit.
I don't fully agree with Lit here. An intellect could still believe in something and acknowledge he has no basis for such a belief.
Agreed, and there are plenty of examples of this. I am not willing to dismiss anyone based on his or her religious beliefs.
-
We all believe in things without reason. Do you claim that every thought and belief that you have is perfectly rational?

At least the thing with equal arms is not a belief but a fact. The best proof is actually your beloved state's gun laws and monopoly on violence.
Another thing. Mankind has existed for 100000 or 2 million years, depending on how one counts. States have only existed for about 6000 years. So mankind has lived without any states for at least 94% of the time it has existed.

I typed "intellect" when it should be "intellectual".

Don't agree with lit at all, but he originally made this statement as if it were a logical fact. That's why I said that there's a difference between emotional and intellectual honesty. Intellectually, he probably knows there are a great number of believers who are intellectuals, and their statements of belief are emotional statements. His new response is perfect.

Also, Americans are ridiculously law-abiding. Look at the Poles, the Italians and the Greeks. They don't give a shit about laws.

Ah, yes, great argument, because the ways of the cavemen are directly comparable with our modern societies.

It proves that mankind doesn't need a state to survive.
-
It proves that mankind doesn't need a state to survive.
We do need a collective, and we do need a leader, an individual who takes charge, unifies a group, and leads the way.
A natural leader will walk first, and expose himself to dangers, which makes his followers admire him for it.
This is undeniable, and a deep rooted essence of humanity.
The question is: What do we do with this - in societies where human groups count several thousand, even in small spots? Even just a normal swede neighborhood can have 5-10K people in one spot. That is "not natural" (but it is still there as an undeniable fact - but as a symptom of nature being imperfect)
Mold will choke itself out, and die, when they overpopulate a spot.
It's only a matter of reaching the "ceiling" of the ammount of people "allowed" to exist on this planet. Unfortunately, we have yet to consume everything. We can theoretically keep populating every last bit of unpopulated space. We can theoretically keep our exponential growth, and just fill up more and more and more land. Urban centres can only grow. A place that is small today, like say Uddevalla, could theoretically contain 1 million people by the year 3000, 10 million by the year 4000, 100 million by the year 5000, we will just keep seeing it as normal when the time comes.
Idunno where I'm going with this.
I'm gonna go somewhere and cry now.

Actually I think all this tolerance Obama is being shown is racism. If he wasn't a black man, nobody would ever put up with the blatant overreaching of power he repeatedly commits.
An argument can be made as such...
LOL upon Tig. Yes, if you did not want me to invoke GOD, in the spirit of humour, then STFU!! LOL
:violin:
The presidential office should be respected, but like you said we the people are his employer. Patterns of misconduct are grounds for termination of employment.
Yeah, but I will not allow any foreign entity to Dis' our president without standing up for the office in general. While we may elect another president shortly, I will defend the office of the presidency!! NO entity shall take shots at our executive branch without consequences, regardless of which man sits in the office!
I never took such an oath (what about you?), but I am an American!
God Bless the USA!!
I agree 100%, dude. Its completely insane to come up with plans to assassinate our own president and burn down the white house or something. What needs to happen is impeachment. That way we can take him to court and have him face up to all the laws he's broken these past few years, sending the message to future generations that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.
America is a constitutional republic and it will remain so, despite how much certain interests want to tilt the balance of political power in favor of a stronger government and consequence free environment for a modern aristocracy. Its time to take matters into our own hands, and use the law to fight that trend.
Our leaders are not superior beings. The 1% more and more people are growing to hate are not superior beings, they are just humans with the same kind of brain everyone else has. If they can manipulate the system and twist it around so that its the grotesque mockery of government most first world nations have today, we can figure things out too can't we? The common folk should be able to understand and use the rule of law to fight back.

:facepalm2:
We should NEVER have needed to have a constitutional amendment abolishing slavery, except for the horrid leftovers of British rule, which allowed such treatment of human beings as a matter of course.
I think it is interesting, Tig that you chose to ignore this answer to your challenge.
-
Hear hear!
-
It has nothing to do with anything. Ridiculous. Being a colony once doesn't justify slavery for almost another 100 years.
-
And - since you can't grasp that what Obama and the 500 billionaires are doing is the most "un-American" of all, it's no use discussing with you anyway.
-
It has nothing to do with anything. Ridiculous. Being a colony once doesn't justify slavery for almost another 100 years.
I don't see how DD is trying to justify slavery. I believe he's saying that, all men being created equal, slavery should never have been allowed once the Constitution was ratified.
-
Whatever. He believes in Obama's bullshit anyway.

I'm reasonably confident that DD isn't an Obama supporter.

Here's another American meme:

Ironically American patriots are pretty much like German patriots in Imperial and Nazi Germany; their mantra contains the words "freedom" and "democracy", but otherwise it's pretty similar. They repeat words like "history", "culture", "tradition", "obligation", "vindication", "our nation", "our leader" etc etc etc ad nauseam and think that the mere words simply mean anything.
-
Whatever. He believes in Obama's bullshit anyway.
Actually, i'm pretty sure he said the position of president should be respected. And he's right, but there is a matter that we have the right to fire a president who is breaking the law. Ask him what he thinks of impeachment, dude. Bet he's for it.
I think impeachment is too light at this point, though. I want him put on trial for war crimes and treason.
-
He has the oddest way of thinking. I once posted a pic of the old church here. It's 900 years old. He got furious and ranted something about it not being built by "free men" or something. Whoever built it, it's still 900 years old.
-

I just can not see that it will ever happen, sadly.

Think again, old "friend" about where my heart really lands on these questions. You have forgotten how I like to stir the pot and try to get smart people talking?
SHIT, man, look back a bit!!!
The main philosophical differences we have regarding government are that I would prefer a strong LOCAL body of government (all my LOCAL friends carrying powerful weapons all the time) NOT "no government" at all.
A strong FED scares the shit out of me, however!!
We see eye to eye on this one point!!

I'll explain. Based on the photo Jack graciously provided, lets look a bit more closely and use a bit of critical thinking. Does the hole caused by the LARGE plane resemble what common sense dictates it would? Nope. As a matter of fact, when you look at the trucks in the photo for scale you realize that the hole is just slightly larger than the hole one of those would make and the plane was much larger than one of those. And it had WINGS.
A grade school student in another country would probably recognize the problem there. But here in America, the story you see on the news is WHUT HAYAPEYUNED'D.

Well we are trying...
Police forced New Mexico scrap metal tradesman David Eckert to undergo two digital anal probes, three enema insertions and ultimately a colonoscopy after officers incorrectly assumed he was concealing drugs, according to a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court on his behalf.
No drugs were found by police or doctors at the Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M. The exhaustive search began when Eckert allegedly rolled through a stop sign in Deming, N.M., on Jan. 2, 2013.

I wouldn't do it myself, cus you need to sortof... believe in what you're doing, and not shit your pants, but it is apparently not too difficult to chase a bear away, since bears prefer the least-hastle-possible, most of the time, and will run away just to avoid all the ruckus.

I think having children line up each morning and make an oath to a symbol of the government is frightening.
So lets just erase our own history as a nation and forget where we came from so we make the same mistakes.
I'm tired of living in a world full of goddamned sociopaths and murderers and i'm doing everything I can to put an end to it.
I do think that you actually believe this, but why don't you fill us all in on what you are actually doing besides complaining on the internet? It doesn't seem to leave you a lot of time for running for office, starting grass-roots movements, etc.
I think you actually believe this, but why don't you ask me what i'm doing besides complaining on the internet before getting all condescending and bitchy with me, you noxious cunt? I have plenty of time to run for office, but I would rather die than be a politician. You don't actually know what sort of activism I might be part of, or writings I might be doing. But I won't point you in the right direction for making change until you humble your uppity feminist ass and approach me politely like a decent human being.
:hahaha:
OMG, I laughed until I cried at "writings I might be doing". I can barely catch my breath. Thank you, I needed that.

Yes the geographical location of members here makes the wrath of those members inconsequential. No one can really hurt you. Just words on a screen that you can either read or not.
I understand that some people like to connect, and that is the problem. It can all go wrong so easily when relying on the written word. Misunderstandings and such.
I tend to use this place to 'offload' a lot more than I 'take in'. Sometimes even forgetting to look at how people respond/reply. :zoinks:

Some people react to words on a screen by taking it to the level of affecting people's real life, so do think people can really hurt. Have never viewed the internet as simply words on a screen.

Awwww, and heh, in my "design", if you can call it that, of the avatar, I wanted to make it visually effective, but at the same time as simple and uncomplicated as possible, like a litteral avatar for the emotion of a furious creature, like a bronze age shield decoration, or a totem or something :D

"I chew teeth" ;D
I don't know exactly where that is from, but it's something I've used more than once. Most probably, it comes from several creepy teeth-dreams I've had, but also the once or twice but memorable experience, as a kid, to accidentally chew one of your loosened milk-teeth.
Teeth are remarkably hard to chew, the kind of hardness that dead-stops your jaw, bam! :D
In my novels, Juhultebraan's "nickname" when they compete, is "I chew teeth", in a later short story, I "reveal" that she took that name from one of her opponents during captivity in a deadly gladiator ring, "Tantor, chewer of teeth"
So, managed to use the idea twice, without necesarily over-using it :D

Ah, yes. That was it.

Over the course of history, men with facial hair have been ascribed various attributes such as wisdom, sexual virility, masculinity, or a higher status; however, beards may at times have also been perceived to be associated with a loss of refinement.
Biology
The beard develops during puberty. Beard growth is linked to stimulation of hair follicles in the area by dihydrotestosterone, which continues to affect beard growth after puberty. Hair follicles from different areas vary in what hormones they are stimulated or inhibited by; dihydrotestosterone also promotes balding. Dihydrotestosterone is produced from testosterone, the levels of which vary with season; thus beards grow faster in summer.
Close up
Difficulties in measuring beard growth have led to controversies concerning the effects of hormonal activity on short-term pogonotrophy (i.e., the grooming of facial hair). For example, a physicist had to spend periods of several weeks on a remote island in comparative isolation. He noticed that his beard growth diminished, but the day before he was due to leave the island it increased again, to reach unusually high rates during the first day or two on the mainland. He studied the effect and concluded that the stimulus for increased beard growth was related to the resumption of sexual activity. However, at that time professional pogonologists reacted vigorously and almost dismissively.
How fast the beard grows is also genetic.
No matter if it is true or not, it did make it to hearsay wisdom. I've heard more than one guy telling this.

Sarah Palin Supporters Attempted To Edit Wikipedia Page On Paul Revere
Last week, Sarah Palin told a local news station in Boston that Paul Revere "warned the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms." As the news media rushed to point out that Revere was, in fact, warning the American colonists, not the British, Palin's supporters apparently attempted to update the Wikipedia entry on Revere in order to make the facts conform to Palin's version of history.
According to the revision history on the Wikipedia page, Palin supporters attempted to add the line in italics below:
Revere did not shout the phrase later attributed to him ("The British are coming!"), largely because the mission depended on secrecy and the countryside was filled with British army patrols; also, most colonial residents at the time considered themselves British as they were all legally British subjects.
That revision was deleted with the explanation "content not backed by a reliable sources [sic] (it was sarah palin interview videos)."
On Sunday, Palin, a paid Fox News contributor, told "Fox News Sunday" that she was correct. She says there were British soldiers in the area for years before Revere's legendary ride, and that he was warning them, as well as his fellow colonists.
"Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there that 'hey, you're not going to take American arms, you are not going to beat our own well-armed persons individual private militia that we have.'"
She blamed her previous answer on the media, saying it was a "gotcha question."
The Paul Revere House's website says that on April 18, 1775, Dr. Joseph Warren instructed Revere to ride to Lexington, Mass., to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that British troops were marching to arrest them.

No matter if it is true or not, it did make it to hearsay wisdom. I've heard more than one guy telling this.
:flyingbat:
That had me wander around until this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Male_pattern_baldness#Myths (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Male_pattern_baldness#Myths)
Does beard growth correlate with baldness?

I need to shave.
So you're postwhoring about it in two threads. :P
I felt it was important for you all to know about it.
You should ask Sinnocent to post an announcement of your shaving habits on WP, in case anyone missed it. :orly:
You think?
But no; they are not ready for the information at WP.
The bots will spread the message.
I have yet to shave. Do you think I should?

A sign of high virility, isn't it?
Someone please post information on this. I'm actually curious.
(Not the virility part, necessarily. Just if there's any correlates.)
Linking you to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beard). :P

It doesn't seem to be the case. I know people who are balding but who grow full beards.

And if they make things legal that kill people, they'll live shorter lives and become humorless in general. They'll become fatty-fat Americans
They would have to privatize the NHS and depose the queen before we'd let them become Americans. :M
The current government and the government in Northern Ireland are already making moves to privatize the NHS. :M
Once you adopt the Constitution, you can be the fifty-first state. :zoinks:
Some Brits love the Americans so much that they've probably launched a petition suggesting that very thing. :GA:

It doesn't seem very buyer friendly.

No, mean getting off the shelf, out the door, and then home. Merely going about buying one seems a chore. It's seven feet long.

Good point. Never really thought of it like that.

If so, quite likely you did not survive.

My take: anyone but Hillary, unless it is Sanders. The reverse may also be true, however.
Anyone but Trump ... Please!
Cruz might be "the lesser on 'two weevils' when compared to Christie" or a few more, maybe.
We might do better if we just give up on voting and just save billions of $US by doing a "Rock/Paper/Scissors" thing and anyone of the crowd who is eliminated has to leave politics for life.
-
I know nothing about Sanders or Cruz (haven't been paying attention, fuck me) but they can't be worse than Hillary or Trump. Please. I hope.

You are simply "having a go" at us, right?
Remember, our country sends more food and medicine than bombs in an historical context. We certainly send more of both or either than any other country on the entire globe.

You may not have to worry, you know, "going back to your igloo and all." :evillaugh:
You know what a ridiculous choice Hillary would be. As much as most of the country has anticipated a CAPABLE woman to take that office, there just has not been one "willing" to make the sacrifice AND qualified to win the vote. "Angels and ministers of grace defend us" from the ministrations of an Hillary presidency, Please!!
Trump may be a genius when it comes to making himself rich, pretty sure we all agree that his style will not work in a system that requires that "the second place" survive his efforts to overtake. "Angels and ..."
Sanders is a Democratic Socialist, by his own claim. Pretty sure that is NOT going to fly around here. Some of his ideas are truly intriguing (nothing new, mind you) and capture the imagination in ways that we all "pretend" we could support, except for that annoying thing of having to pay for it all out of our own pockets, but we are literally generations away from a public acceptance of what he says he will do in his administration of the Executive office. "Angels and ..."
Here is one of Bernie Sanders' websites. (https://berniesanders.com/issues/)
I have looked at this for weeks and I do believe that all are Patriots of our proud nation, except for Trump and Sanders, possibly, but Cruz might be the only one who has a the slightest, last chance for an inkling of sanity still glistening in his overworked, furled brow.
This is going to be one of those white knuckle, nail biting elections, where you only hope that the "worst guy" does not win.

Those California plates are from the 1970's, they quit making the yellow on blue in 82 or 83 I think.
The Nebraska plate is from Sarpy County (59), where I grew up.
The Oregon and Arizona plates are an older design too.

Yeah, the art work might be old too. I noticed the ones that have dates on them are pretty old. Montana is 73, Nevada is eighty something, Kansas has 76, and Missouri has a sticker from 92.

Dude, I lived through all those dates. It is not THAT old, is it? Really?

During the time of that Kansas tag I already had begun a successful sound company, travelling all over the country setting up concert venues for rock and roll!
I was twenty one and in business for myself answering to no one.
I had a semi truck half full of my own gear, gathered from the past six years of hard work and the other half was full of new state of the art gear that my father had helped me to lease. I could set up a really nice sound system anywhere in this country with only a few days of notice for travel time.
It is what I love most and I was doing it!
-
I've got to say, the best thing about being American is owning a 4x4 pickup truck.
Now I know that even when 3+ feet of snow comes down and it doesn't get plowed, (yes, State of Oregon, you suck at plowing roads!!!) you don't have to worry about getting snowed in or stuck on the road.
My F-150 handled 3 feet of snow like a boss!! 8) 8) 8) :headbang2: :viking:
-
Liked that about the jeep too, back when living in the snow.
-
I've got to say, the best thing about being American is owning a 4x4 pickup truck.

There are things about getting to work on time when many can not that has its own set of rewards.
The economy must continue.
Punking out and not getting to work because you choose to drive some little piece of shit that will not go is not an option for those who actually DO the work and make this country worth something more than a day off.
I now own two AWD vehicles. Even my wife's choice of comfy sedan managed the last six to eight inches of snow with fine aplomb.
My crossover has yet to be challenged by any driving conditions. If I was still working, I could be at work on time.
Sad for some, but not me, I have already done my work. I am now just playing "Daddy Taxi" for a couple of youngsters and mainly just enjoying myself.
-
I forgot to mention, when I still had the big Escalade, we had record breaking snow one day and even some city functions shut down, schools were closed, etc.
I was at work on time. Twelve inches of snow was nothing but a delay of a few extra minutes travel time. It was forty five more minutes for the boss to get there in his puny Jeep Wrangler. Those are just too light and SHORT to deal with big snow.
-
I missed my pick up, this morning on the way to work there was only about six inches on the ground and my new van handles it like a toboggan

One of our family cars is a US-made big 4X4 7 seater. With snow mode.
Not all that necessary since we live in a city where it never snows.

Bullshit. I buy their coffee regularly.
I also have a number of stamps and posted covers from my philatelic pursuits from several phases of Ethiopian regimes over the last century. All are quite rare. Some are even slightly valuable as stamps go.

DO NOT include me as a negative example.
I used to own an '81, mechanical version of your modern beauty. I used it for hunting. Now THAT might be the best thing about being an American.
We can go out and bring fresh game to our tables (in some places).
-
DO NOT include me as a negative example.
I was only pointing out the moral inconsistency of odeot.
I used to own an '81, mechanical version of your modern beauty.
That would be a 7th generation. Mine is a '94, 9th generation. They're basically the same truck with only cosmetic changes between the generations, there's a fair amount of parts interchangeability. Mine has electronic fuel injection and a computer controlled 4 speed overdrive automatic but it has a trusty old 351W and twin I beam suspension.
I used it for hunting. Now THAT might be the best thing about being an American.
We can go out and bring fresh game to our tables (in some places).
I'm going to go hunting in mine too. If I've got money to spare, I might even buy an AR-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor to go hunting with!
-
Ah. OK. Mine was basically unstoppable in horrid Texas red clay mud. Mine was a 351W as well.
Did not realize yours was twenty five years old. By "modern beauty" I was talking about one like the one I used for a week when I went to Texas to visit my mom when she had had a heart attack, last year.
My uncle was kind enough to loan me his loaded 2014 F150 4X4 to get around. It was a beauty. 5L, though, but probably more power than my old W had. With the six speed tranny, it sure felt like it.
And it road like a dream.
I thought you were building up a round for, if memory serves, 335-06 for dutifully taking an elk at some point. Is that still in the works?
The AR-10 is a median level toy? Boars? Small deer?
I have taken several small deer with my Ranch Rifle in .223. Suppose 6.5mm would work even better. The key with small caliber is shot placement, as you know.
-

The newer engines do have more HP but they need to wind up to higher RPM's hence the 6 speed tranny. That's why I bought a 9th gen with the 351W, I can build an engine with a stroker kit (you can build a Windsor engine to 427c.i.) so I can make the same torque numbers at lower RPM's.
And it road like a dream.
That's because after the 9th generation, they quit making the twin I bean suspension and went to twin A-arm which handles better on the road while sacrificing off road performance. I wanted the twin I beam to handle the snow and mountain fire roads here.
I thought you were building up a round for, if memory serves, 335-06 for dutifully taking an elk at some point. Is that still in the works?
Yes, the gun is built, I bought a .338-06 barrel for my TC Encore from Match Grade Machine Co. and I have brass, bullets and powder. I'm just waiting on the Ackley Improved chamber reamers and custom dies from Redding.
The AR-10 is a median level toy? Boars? Small deer?
The AR-10 platform is .308 based and the 6.5 Creedmoor is the ballistic equivalent of the 6.5x55. It can take anything that lives here including elk.
I have taken several small deer with my Ranch Rifle in .223. Suppose 6.5mm would work even better. The key with small caliber is shot placement, as you know.
Yes. The 6.5 can be loaded with 160gr bullets which have been used to take down elephant with a shot to the base of the spinal chord. That's what makes the 6.5 so potent, light bullets can take small game and heavy bullets can take down the largest of animals if the person pulling the trigger knows what they are doing.
-

Indirectly, you were putting words in their mouths. They may or may not agree with you, but you're the one making the assumption.
Look, I understand that 4x4 trucks can be fun but I would never define my national pride on something like that. That's just stupid.

We based it on the pound. And I'm glad we did.

Look, I understand that 4x4 trucks can be fun but I would never define my national pride on something like that. That's just stupid.
Now you're the one putting word in my mouth, I never said that.
It's just a fringe benefit of living in the US that full sized 4x4 trucks are ubiquitous and affordable. No other country besides Canada can say the same AFAIK.
And it's not that 4x4 trucks are fun, it's that they can conquer any task you throw at them in a way that's empowering , that is what makes them great.
Can you drive through 3 feet of unplowed snow in your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Can you haul 5 passengers in your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Can you go to the lumber store and pick up 1,000 lbs of building materials in your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Can you drive on unmaintained dirt fire roads in the mountains in your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Can you mount an 10,000lb electric winch on the front bumper of your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Can you tow a boat in your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Can you tow a car trailer in your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Can you go camping in the wilderness in your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Can you wage a war against a zombie outbreak in your Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagg??
Your choice of vehicle speaks volumes of who you are, a narcissist living in an ivory tower who is completely unable to handle any hardship. Mine is a vehicle that can handle any hardship. You do the math.

First of all:
I've got to say, the best thing about being American is owning a 4x4 pickup truck.
Explain what this is, if not national pride.
Second, no to all of your questions. The Jag was never intended for any of it.
Your vehicle is fine, Scrap. If you feel you need a vehicle for all of the things you listed, good for you. Your denial of what you said, OTOH, is not, and neither is your utterly pointless commentary on the Jag. It's why you remain an idiot and an embarrassment. :wanker:
-
(This is where Scrap either comes up with some convoluted, um, *interpretation* of what he said, or attacks me, the Jag or something else equally pointless again.)
-
The reality is that the vast majority of people with big, gas guzzling 4x4s where I live don't need them at all. In 5 years of having ours there has never been a situation where we've thought "that ground clearance/four wheel drive really came in handy". There's been a couple of times where we've been able to pick up furniture or a BBQ that never would have fit in the boot/trunk of the 2nd car, my 3 cylinder beast, but we could have hired a van.
-
My S10 is a 94 also. I love the little beast but I see it getting traded in soon on another 4 x 4. SO and I would be much more comfortable with something we both aren't worried about. It's become the "who's going to the first dent in it?" nightmare....every time we haul something we're careful...way too damn careful...it's a damn truck FFS, this is getting stupid.
Here it's almost a necessity. They don't plow worth shit and a couple of the roads we use wash out so bad sometimes you can bottom out in a car. Not to mention mulch, stone, hauling mowers, trimmers, etc.
A two wheel drive pickup won't get out of it's own way on wet grass unless you've got a load in back.

Since we are supporting a thread anout American excesses, here, maybe we should include the Boss Hoss style of ridiculousness.
We have all seen the Viper engined motorcycle, but if that is a bit over the top for some of us more conservative, maybe a small block Chevy bike would be more suitable.
And if need be you can get a 502 Cubic Inch twin turbo version of a big block in your fancy bike, if you really need it.

It is more about the clarity of your postings. Often you do not offer even a semblance of context. Now, following your mindset closely, some of us understand to what your references express, but sometimes, not so well.
You do lose some of us at times, however.
Adding contextual implications to your posts would aide in our discernment of your nuanced value.
Remain, but heed.

I have never actually seen one in the wild. I have only seen them at car shows and such.
To try an answer to your query, I feel it has to do with the same reasoning that influences young urban gangsta types who wear size 8 shoes to buy size 15 thinking they look cool.
As awesome as those bikes are, I would rather have one of those six wheel drive (triple axle) four ton pick up conversions I posted a few years back.
