How does it feel to identify with another gender. Do you feel a lot different now than you did in your GA days? Was it very good feeling to change?

It feels like identifying with any gender? I dunno it's hard to explain, like "so what's it like being autistic?" lol
I guess confusion is a big factor, most of my life I spent accepting what society was telling me, I was a male. I didn't fit in with other guys though, but I thought that was just autism...
But eventually the incongruity with how I felt and how the world told me I was got too much for me to continue with.
It's an annoying situation to be honest.
I'm far more emotional now, which is a bit of a cliche heh, but true nonetheless. I was closed, reserved before. I kept my emotions bottled up (other than anger unfortunately), but now they've exploded into my life, and it's causing a massive amount of chaos.
But I wouldn't change anything (other than physical stuff), I like being female. It fits a lot better than male ever did.
I still get dysphoria (short periods of acute depression) about my transition (as in what's yet to come), and how I'm still kinda stuck half way (physically) and get all anxious about passing.
But even with all that, I'd still do it again if I had a do-over (though I'd do sooooooo sooner)

Do you ever miss the WP mod days? Do you think the online AS world has changed a lot since then?
I do miss it actually, though I'm not the same person I was back then I might hate it if I did it now :P
I think the the online autistic community has grown more fragmented and diverse over the years, which isn't a bad thing, I think it's helped to mellow out the collective voice. Back then there was basically WP and AFF and they were, to put it poetically, almost like Charles Xavier and Magneto from X-Men. WP wanted to work with the NTs and what not, AFF was (from my perspective) more about establishing our own identity in spite of the NTs. They both had their extremist viewpoints within their communities (which in hindsight is kind of hilarious).
But now, the collective voice seems to more saying "Auties, NTs, pfft. Let's just get on with living and maybe educate and advocate if we can be bothered".
Of course that's coloured through my perspective then and my perspective now, and may not match reality :lol:

OZ is Original Zombie.
It's crazy to want to stand in front of a class of 30 students, high school students no less, and try to teach them stuff. Especially given my gender situation.

Yes, I recently started lithium, I also take a low dose of seroquel in the evening to assist with getting myself to sleep.

renaeden and I are separated, there is no relationship between us (other than really good friend). And were we still together, it would be super awkward because she is asexual and I'm now sexual.

No, I was asexual back then. And while I figured I could havd a relationship with a guy, I was attracted to girls. The sexualiness, and sexuality shift are both new...

I think it was definitely of its time, though I miss it too, but as you say we're different people now.
I think the era of 2004-05 was a huge era for aspies, For me at least, it was the time when broad-band internet became common in the UK and lots more people started using forums for the first time, it was a time of a lot of autism awareness here such as well publicised books and tv shows, and it was a time all the big forums were set up. So you had all these people who had discovered AS for the first time, discovered the internet for the first time, and were really excited about making communities and finding each other and making friends.
I think there will never be another big surge of AS activity like that again, but I guess that level of momenteum and excitement couldn't last forever, so all we can do now is keep ticking along and stay around the people we get on with.

so as some of you may be aware recently I had a short hospital stay due to experiencing a mixed bipolar episode. This is where I experience both depressive and manic features, simultaneously. It's exceedingly unpleasant. And exceptionally dangerous, where the depressive elements can lead to suicidal thoughts and plans and the manic elements can give me the energy and impulsivity to carry it out....
Anyways I'm slowly getting better I think, but thought you might want to know. And if not well I doubt you'd be following this thread, and it keeps my sob story from cluttering other threads unnecessarily.
