Birds are finally moving into the birdhouse we got for Christmas! :woohoo:  I was starting to worry I had picked a bad spot. It's protected and high enough but it's also close to the sunroom windows where we can easily observe it. It's a duplex birdhouse and a pair of carolina wrens have been building a nest together in one side of it.  :2thumbsup:

Not having stuff to do on Sundays is great... just need to stay busy and hide in the basement.

I would definitely try that onion cake. Yum.

Sherbet here is a sweet powder. Is it different there?

I got to meet nice people at a games day but I'm glad it's over as well.

Over here, sherbet is a fruit based ice cream like sweet dish, but unlike ice cream which begins with an egg custard usually, sherbet uses gelatin to stiffen it up and give it substance.

The Onion Cake is delicious!  Zwiebelkuchen.
Look up recipes, but it is also one of those dishes you can fudge your way and it seems to come out perfect every time.
I think the key is the low and slow baking to make sure the eggy, almost quiche-like center is done completely.
Then of course brown it up to your liking once it's done inside.

My wife checks it for doneness with toothpick like any other cake.

Go and volunteer at the Salvos. I now have my 5 years service badge.
Congratulations on your service badge! :hadron:
Thank you! I also received a certificate and a gift voucher. And they took a photo of me shaking hands with the boss! Did not expect any of that. Oh and also they put on lunch for everyone. It was delicious, especially the dessert - pavlova.

Celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary.  We both have to work for walmart, but, we don't care!
Happy Anniversary to you and Carla! :)

Thanks Ren!    8)

I should have read your previous post more closely. You did say it was from an ad!

Yes it is still a sad situation with the indigenous Australians here. Up north especially where they drink away their lives while their young ones sniff petrol. So much potential lost.

I know nothing about the Mesoamerican people. My kindle knew the word though!

Today I bought myself entry to a games day that runs once a month. Our Star Trek Adventures games have all but ended when the captain decided that they didn't want to play anymore. Everyone else is now too busy. It's just Kayleigh and I left.

So this games day is run by our previous captain at a primary school large room that also has a kitchen and two toilets. There's lots of large tables and relatively comfortable chairs for people to play board games, tabletop games or paint miniatures. Today we (five of us) played The Captain is Dead and Zombie Dice.

I'm home now and very glad that I drove home in daylight.
